Friendly staff, good breakfast. Clean rooms, but a little basic. No tea and coffee facilities, and bar not open until 4pm We booked a family room for two adults and three children, the room was a great size. A great location just on the outskirts of the city, 15 min walk to the bus station and metro station, and around this area we found a lot of pleasant restaurants.
Well, where do i start,i can,t believe some of these reviews???? .we stayed for 3 nights, and was glade to leave, poor location for a visit to rome ,the hotel needs renovation and room was a disgrace we changed twice ,still not good, the food was very poor, table service poor not good ,but staff are great, but we will never go but.
The hotel is ok, the room is a little dated, and I found it to have a funny smell ( old maybe?). If you like hard mattress and pillows, this is hotel for you. It was clean though and the staff was very friendly. Breakfast was really amazing with lots of selection to choose from. Now, it is far from the city! so if you are looking to spend more time in the city it will be costly to pay for taxis. We took the train which is about a 10 minute walk from the hotel through a not very cute neighborhood, so at night I would take a taxi, which will be about 12 euros from Trevi Fountain, depending on your location it will change. The hotel recommended a cute restaurant Zio Frankie, which is actually delicious ( check your receipt though! as they overcharged us twice.) If need iron at the hotel, they will charge you 5 euros for 2 hours!!! that is a little ridiculous. However, overall, the stay was good, the hotel is nice, far from city.
We liked the location of this hotel. We especially liked that it was easy to get to by car. Parking is ample and included. Breakfast was also great. We walked to central Rome one evening. It was pleasant. Then we either used über or trains to go back and forth. The room was small for five, which is okay. But the worst part was the smell of something stale or mouldy. Despite this issue, the beds were very comfortable.
Pinewood is so peaceful. You can find the most kind and gracious staff of the city and you will always find your room clean and quite.Breakfast was not our style, i wish to try different kinds of Italian cheese. Far from the center of Rome but it is easy to reach most important places by subway or bus. Thank you for your hospitality.
Hotel has own fenced parking, free wifi, good breakfast, and balconies with chairs, table and view on public park in pine wood. Not so clean, some problems with shower, but personel is good and helpfull.
Pinewood is not a fancy modern hotel, but it is well maintained, very clean and with an excellent staff. It's within walking distance of several good restaurants as well as local coffee shops and a pharmacy and groceries. The hotel rooms are a little dated as was the bath, but it was squeaky clean and I would stay there again. The other guests were not just Americans and the breakfast was excellent. We enjoyed being in a non touristy area and were able to shop at local prices. My husband got a haircut and I got a manicure nearby. The park across the street has a great view of Rome.
I recently was part of a large tour group that spent four nights at the Pinewood. It was a mixed experience, definitely more on the poor side than the good side. I'll start with the good: some of the rooms have private balconies or patios and there's a rooftop area to hang out with larger groups. Both are nice for relaxing. Now to the bulk of my comments. The rooms were a bit run down, the a/c barely worked, there was very little storage for our clothing. We only had about four hangers and as soon as we put a pair of pants on them, they broke. We had to take apart the room to plug in the refrigerator. This was a very large group and we filled the hotel. That meant that within five minutes of the group wake up call there was no hot water. The breakfast was ok, but it was so crowded it was difficult to move around. The dinner was very similar. The pasta at dinner was tasty, but the vegetables and meat were truly inedible. I would heartily recommend not eating there. The neighborhood is far off the beaten track, which may or may not be an issue depending on your needs. Over all, I was very disappointed in my first trip to Italy due to this hotel.
This hotel is rated 4 stars but it didn't impress me as a 4 star hotel. The location is far from the center of Rome and a far walk to the Metro station. It is not a downtown place. The walk to the metro station is not a nice walk, the streets are shady. There is a park across the street from the hotel, but not a view to the park. The breakfast is just ok, with variety but not great taste. The beds are just ok, and the bathroom small.
I was looking for a moderate priced Hotel and Pinewood fit the requirement. I had friends from Africa that had never traveled before and wanted to experience the culture. For three meals we walked out and ate in community restaurants. It was a great experience.
