This property was exactly what I was looking for in my stay while in Rome. It was very quiet and the grounds were upkept and very lush. I loved the surrounding area for great food at a slower pace than what you’re going to see in the heart of Rome. Better food too in my opinion. The room was super comfortable, clean and had every amenity you could think of. The complimentary water was a great amenity as well. I would certainly not hesitate to stay here again for any future visits to Rome.

Pros: - location away from the crowds - beautiful property - amazing staff - good breakfast - nice resident cat Cons: - we found the bed too hard and quite uncomfortable. It had no give. For this reason alone we can’t give the hotel 5* - the duvet was very thin. A thicker/heavier duvet would have been nice for the winter - we had a room with a sofa. But it was more a bed for an extra person. There was no way to sit on it as it was very deep and there were no pillows or cushions. So it was a big room but without really places to sit.

The hotel is beautiful. The location is great for exploring the neighbourhood. There were some little things that could have enhanced the stay but not a deal breakers. An in room coffee maker would have been great, no wine glasses or glassware in the room just paper cups. Great stay in a beautiful hotel with lovely staff.

Room was very clean, looks like recently remodeled. The staff is incredibly friendly and extremely helpful. My only issue is there was no coffee maker of any sort in the room. Guests do not always want to have to go to lobby or wany staff to get coffee or tea. No kleenex in room also. Change those two items and you would get a higher rating. Again, staff is wonderful!

The location was perfect - so close to the busy streets and nightlife of Trastevere. However, whilst we were only a few minutes walk from it all, the hotel was an oasis of peace. The plants were what drew me to book and the gardens didn’t disappoint. A beautiful setting and decor was the perfect accompaniment. Staff were helpful and nice to speak with each day, particularly at breakfast. The food was very tasty with a great range of local and more typical breakfast foods. The room was decorated for our special occasion which was greatly appreciated. Only small issue was with our door handle that came off, but it didn’t cause any issue and the staff were quick to offer help. Would certainly recommend booking Horti 14.

Don’t stay here, it’s not worth the price

We went for one night with my infant son. There was no air conditioning because apparently all the rooms are on the same circuit and one person had theirs on heat. It must have been 80 degrees in the room. Also, the shower was clogged and so water went all over the bathroom and bedroom floor - we’re taking gallons of overflow. We had to ask several times for towels - it took 8 full size towels to soak it up. On top of that the hair dryer didn’t work! We asked for a refund because the stay was CERTAINLY not worth $600 per night but they offered a refund of 15 euro. Insulting.

My wife and I stayed here for three nights in September. The staff were wonderful and helped us arrange transport from the airport & a few other things here and there. Daily breakfast was a nice treat with good variety, setting us up for long days of sightseeing. The hotel grounds & location were both fantastic, a short walk to the Trastevere neighbourhood. We felt much more comfortable coming back to this area after spending time in the more hectic / busy areas of Rome. The amazing variety plants around the hotel were a wonderful touch and added a lot of charm. The beds are firm, but comfortable and large showers / bathrooms facilities. We did have one or two small issues during our stay, but the hotel staff were able to help us out and resolve them quickly.

This hotel was exceptional - from the beautiful layout of the property with all its greenery, to the huge room with the comfiest bed, the impressive breakfast spread to the friendly staff. Even the resident tortoise was charming. Trastevere is a really lovely area to stay in and this hotel is close enough to the action but also remarkably quiet and private. So close to the river and walkable to central Rome. Will definitely be back!
