You will often hear that most hotel rooms in Rome are tiny, and often dark. The Hive proves those comments totally wrong: bright, ample, fully-equipped modern rooms are really top notch. Effective breakfast in a nice terrace. Design of the common areas could have been more refined. WARNING: there is a street fair on Cesare Balbo, and stands get set up from 6 am on every day. If your room faces that street, get earplugs!
Loved this hotel. Excellent customer service. Rooms were modern and clean. The rooms were very spacious and contained a desk and ample closet space. Beautiful rooftop deck, but not much of a view. Very close to the train station too. Would definitely return. The street noise (ppl yelling, cars honking) are all night and even early in the morning. Can be tough for light sleepers. We were on the 4th floor facing the street. Sounded like the window was open but it wasn’t.
We had such a wonderful time here - the service is exceptional and the decor / furnishings are exquisite. The location is very convenient as the train station is a 5 minute walk away and the Colosseum is 10 minutes away. I have been urging everyone I know to try this hotel, my mother & I had a fabulous time here. I also love the honeycomb designs throughout the hotel, a very nice touch. Breakfast was fantastic, a full range of foodstuffs plus honeycomb plus a pancake making machine (hours of fun). Try it. I attach 2 photos of the ceilings lighting in our room which was wonderfully subtle and one photo of our view from the terrace at breakfast
My partner and I stayed at the hotel last week. We upgraded to an executive room on the 4th floor (room 424). Our stay at the hotel was ruined as all around the hotel are very noisy main roads so all through the night all we could hear was the road noise and ambulances and motor bikes going by all night. Even with our earplugs in we could hear this. To top it off their are two building sites opposite the hotel which were opposite our room so when we eventually got to sleep we were woken up with building work from 7am in the morning. We complained to the hotel manager who said they had had several complaints from guests about the building site noise but there was nothing they could do and apparently the work won't complete until 2020! The hotel manager gave us breakfast for free and a fruit bowl as a good will gesture but this did not make up for the 4 nights of no sleep! It was such a shame about the external noise as the hotel itself is lovely - very modern and clean with very comfortable beds. Our advice is DO NOT book this hotel if you are a light sleeper but if you can sleep through loud road noise you should be ok.
We spent a few days during our honeymoon at The Hive Hotel and we really enjoyed it. Nothing out of the ordinary, but really comfortable, clean, nice breakfast and service. Good food at the rooftop restaurant and nice atmosphere.
Great location. We were able to walk from the Termini. Nice and helpful staff. Restaurant upstairs - not so much - walk to one of the cafes instead. Nice-sized room and bathroom. Both were very clean. The mattress was super firm and we prefer less firm, but were able sleep okay.
We stayed for one night and the hotel was ideal for a quick visit to Rome. It’s a 5 minute walk from the central station and 15/20 minute walk to most of the historic sites. Hotel staff were friendly, room was clean and comfortable and the roof top terrace was a great spot to enjoy a few drinks in the evening. Would definitely recommend!
This is an exquisite 4-star hotel with great and friendly service, super big rooms and fantastic cosy beds. Situated near Roma Termini station it is convenient and easy to find. The staff are friendly and polite and always with a smile. The rooms are spacious and very clean and the bathroom was huge! Breakfast had many tasty options and also the restaurant on the 5th floor is of the highest quality. A great stay at a fantastic hotel
Just got back from a 3 day Rome stay prior to a cruise through the Med . The hotel is very new and looks it all the mod cons , it looks just like the photos as shown .The rooms are clean and spacious , ours did not have the lounge seat as shown in some photos , but we are there to see the sights and sleep in the comfy bed and hit the streets again the next day . The shower ect super clean. Desk staff very helpful and proficient , gave plenty of service to sort our our delayed pick up to the dock. Only negative was the breakfast which was included in the very good price, it was plentifull but not real hot ,a problem encountered on the whole trip really the cruise food lukewarm at best , can't understand why food is cooked and then chilled to serve, i have my own business serving hot food to customers so i guess its a bit of a sensitive issue, not that hard to fix , need better equipment . Only one more issue , the lobby where you would get dropped off/picked up is so busy as the road narrows to one lane , parking is almost zero, more of a pain for taxis ect , but gotta be careful as Italians only drive in one fashion - flat out. I have no experiences with other hotels in Rome but as a first timer doing what we did ,this hotel with the price we paid was outstanding , hopefully this helps viewers ,and management make a small change in the food area and you have a top accomodation option
We stayed in a superior room for one night. We opted for the rate that included breakfast and it was worth it. Our room was very spacious and clean. The bathroom was also very nice and bright. The hotel also has a beautiful rooftop restaurant. The location of the hotel is very convenient to the Termini train station. I would recommend this hotel!
