Overall, I definitely would recommend. Only downside for me was the proximity to a nightclub a couple blocks south that played techno music until 5 am on the weekend, which kept me up all night on our last day of the trip, but that can be cured by asking to stay on the north side of the hotel. Staff are very friendly and helpful. The facilities are good, with a decent variety of food to eat. The price was quite affordable for what we got. I like the fact that this is an all-inclusive resort that isn't a 10 or 15 minute drive away, like in Playacar. Here you can walk out of the hotel and be on Quinta Avenida with a 2-minute walk. I will definitely be going back.

The vacation turned out even better than I thought it would. The only thing that I did not care for was the volume of the music around the pool, way to loud.and not well suited to the different age groups.People did get up very early and put towels out on pool chairs so if you waited too long you lose. Also, the canvas on the lounge chairs at the pool need to be scrubbed.Beach is small with many boats anchored near beach.Food was usually pretty good and buffet area had air conditioned section that was nice.

Overall it's difficult not to be satisfied when you're in gorgeous weather. What threw me off right away is we had to pay extra for wifi. Not every restaurant is included for the all-inclusive, but the 2 that are included were great. There isn't much beach space, and there are boats taking up much of the water. However, staff was friendly and helpful. There were several opportunities for tours and excursions. I would return there.

Not as crowded as the huge resorts, and better food and service.

Bartenders and buffet staff seem to have no concept of "service"- even when we tipped every single order. There were times we were finished eating before someone approached to ask if we wanted something to drink. Security was great, constant presence of gaurds was great. Beach was great, didn't mind the boats, the place was clean, and location was great. Food lacked variety, same thing every day, quality was nothing to write home about. Really, except for the poor and unfriendly service, I was pleased.

Great hotel and staff. Older hotel, rooms need updating but very comfortable.

Nice cheap Hotel, 5 minute walk to 5th av. Everything was good except the front personnel trying to sell time share, after I consistently told them I was not interested in hearing them out.

Service was great, rooms were clean. food was cold though.

far from noise of 5th ave, nice and cozy hotel with hard working people ,amazing food, view of the boats on the beach is amazing, plenty space to swim, and much more

When we walked into our room, I had to use the restroom. No soap. How is there no soap? Isn't that Hotel 101? Also no matter what I did to the AC temp, it stayed the same, like they had a permanent temperature. We arrived at night and was starving, went straight to the buffet, which was a HUGE disappointment. Zero flavor. I mean, all I wanted was tacos/tortillas... There were never any tacos or loose tortillas the whole time we were there. The food at the buffet was very bland and INSANELY watered down. The nacho cheese was basically yellow water, okay maybe just a little thicker but now much. Now that I think about it, I don't think I ever saw guacamole. Lunch & dinner was just plain terrible. Breakfast was really nice! They cook the eggs as you like. But if you were to pick from the buffet, again, blah. And I didn't like how the food wasn't labeled if there was meat or not. I had to open the tamales (etc) and try and see if there was meat inside. The Mexican Restaurant and Italian Restaurant were really good! Really good, so that's a good option for dinner. Location was good. 3 blocks from the town shops. Not a fan of the beach, has cigarette butts and didn't like the boats so close to the beach. Everyone (except one concierge, she was grumpy) was so nice and spoke English really well, very welcoming! I also liked that it was relatively quiet. I took my mom so I didn't want it to be a party scene. A big negative was the time share pressure.

The staff were very welcoming and attentive to our needs. The beds were comfortable, air conditioning was quiet and worked well. Ended up buying my own bug spray, to keep all the mosquitoes away, but all in all. VERY GOOD place to stay! DID NOT get bothered by timeshare representatives. The meals were GREAT (Restaurants Too!) , and they had different things on the buffet each night, and VERY good breakfast selections as well. Pool was wonderful! Drinks were well made, and of great variety. I did NOT feel AT ALL that I was persuaded into spending $ I didn't need to, upgraded my room upon arrival for a room close to the pool for a reasonable price. Beach is more of a "natural" short, but VERY NICE one. you can walk all along the beach to the left, and to the right if you wish..NO BOATS THERE (For all the reviews that mentioned the boats being right outside the hotel). There were even police patrolling the beach area during the day, was surprised to see that for such a rural area, made me feel even more secure (But believe me, I felt SAFE EVERYWHERE, you can walk from the hotel anywhere you need to go, or just take a $6 cab ride to the heart of it all on 5th avenue!). The beds were firm, but I liked the firmness, and there were adequate blankets and pillows in the room. Cable TV worked great, and there was even HBO And Showtime (In English!). IF you want a HUGE resort where you have to walk miles to get to anything, go elsewhere. But I LOVED IT! Cant wait to go BACK :) GO COCO

the first time going here we were impressed, it has taken a turn we were not pleased at all. The rooms need updateding and were not cleaned to my satisfaction, especially the bathroom. One day did not get any towels, and the food was terrible. LAST TIME ,even though a great price

Hotel has a great location close to main strip in Playa del Carmen that is a short walk or an easy short cab ride (90 pesos). Hotel was overall clean, comfortable, food was overall good and the price for the package was good. Room was not without its flaws, but served its purpose. Room was clean and room service did a nice job keeping it clean, though we had 3 in our room and they kept leaving 2 sets of towels, but a note left on the dresser resolved that for the next days. The AC worked well on high, but if changed the fan speed to low or medium it made an annoying noise so we either had it on high or off. Bathroom sink was very slow to drain. Reported to front desk, it may have been worked on by maintenance and gotten a little better but not resolved. We upgrade to the Premium bracelet for the top shelf alcohol. One complaint is the website said it offered canned beer with the premium, and I was not able to locate this at any of the bars when I asked at all of them. We were unaware of the premium option until after booking so when we found this out I emailed hotel directly to inquire. they provided me info back and on what this included and I was told it included WiFi for the stay. I had the emails from their guest relations, yet when we arrived was told that was an error and WiFi is not in that daily Premium price given to me. Feel they should have honored that since they gave it to me in writing and confirmed it twice. Had a great time still and would go back.

This is a good value for a economy all inclusive resort. The food was not real fancy but it was adequate. The beach was real nice but the swimming area was a little small due to the fishing boats. This is at one end of the little shopping zone and is located close but in the heart of the little city area. The dive shop was real nice and I had several nice days diving. THe activities at the resort were OK, I would definatly take my small children here, the smaller size of the resort gave it a safer feel then the huge resorts.

Great vacation spot that's close to local shopping, food and drinks where good too.

Was our 2nd time in this hotel, and will back. everybody friendly, good location, close to 5th Ave.

Buffet was good, drinks plentiful. Grounds pool very clean Close pool to early. Very friendly staff. Close to 5th ave. Fun . Only bad was construction not represented at time of booking!! Beach small and very cloudy water not clear. But all in all pretty good

Nice clean hotel, good value for the money. Rooms are clean and beds are very comfortable. Relaxing getaway

Good value, nice beach, walking distance to town Good value, nice beach, walking distance to town Good value, nice beach, walking distance to townGood value, nice beach, walking distance to town Good value, nice beach, walking distance to town

I WAS TOTALLY UNHAPPY FROM THE BEGINNING TO THE END OF MY STAY. TO START WHEN I CHECKED IN I WAS UPGRADED TO A SUITE FOR $50 MORE BUT MY HUSBAND AND I WERE GIVEN 2 DOUBLE BEDS, WHEN I TOLD THEM WE WANTED ONE KING BED I WAS TOLD THEY DID NOT HAVE ANY AVAILABLE. THEN WE WERE GIVING A YELLOW BRACELET WHICH WAS NOT THE RIGHT ONE FOR THE ROOM WE WERE STAYING IN AND SECURITY HARRASED US MANY TIMES IF WE WERE STAYING IN THIS ROOM, BUT WHEN I CALLED THE FRONT DESK THEY WOULD NOT CHANGE OUR BRACELETS TO THE CORRECT ONE THAT GOES WITH THE ROOM I PAID FOR. THEN THE WORSE IS THE DAY WE WERE LEAVING OUR RENT A CAR WHICH WAS PARKED IN THEIR PARKING LOT RIGHT NEAR THE ENTRANCE OF THEIR HOTEL A PIECE FROM THE DRIVERS MIRROR WAS STOLEN. WE CALLED SECURITY RIGHT AWAY AND THEY REFUSED TO WRITE A REPORT FOR US TO HAVE NOR WOULD THEY TAKE ANY RESPONSIBILITY FOR THIS. THEY SAID THEY WOULD TAKE A LOOK AT THE VIDEO FROM THE CAMERAS AROUND THE AREA AND CALL US, WELL IT IS A WEEK LATER AND I STILL HAVE NOT RECEIVED ANY CONTACT FROM THE REEF HOTEL IN PLAYA DEL CARMEN.I HAD TO PAY HERTZ RENT A CAR OUT OF MY POCKET FOR THIS MISSING PIECE. I WILL NEVER NEVER GO BACK TO THIS HOTEL OR RECOMEND THIS HOTEL TO ANYONE.I AM SO DISSATISIFIED WITH MY ENTIRE STAY HERE.
