Augustine was a fabulous server who is very attentive for breakfast and lunch in the Jaal-Ha restaurant. He made our days special. Chino was a great dive instructor at Dive-X. The rest of the staff was relatively nice. Drinks and food were yummy. We had a few problems throughout our 7 day stay. Be careful of the pool. Myself along with my friend and several others would cut them selves on the tile. My friend ended up getting 3 stitches in his finger because he sliced it on the pool. Our rooms air-conditioning started leaking and creating massive puddles and ceiling damage. We were told to pack up our stuff and they would move us to a different room which they never did. My phone in my room never worked. They did come in and superficially patch the wall so it didn’t leak the rest the time we were there. The floor is incredibly slippery when you combine the Aircon with the humidity coming from outside. Both my friend and I slipped several times. I had to finally ask the concierge to ensure that the maid put shampoo and conditioner in my room every day. I went three days without conditioner. The water pressure in the room was lacking. We had an ocean view room and it was beautiful. Overall we were very satisfied with the room. The resort is beautiful but expect to walk. It takes up a lot of property space. The shows were good. But it’s so hot you think they would throw up a fan or two.

Stayed at this property 7 years ago , found the property needing a overhaul, rooms were a little dirty, showers were terrible, property overrun by raccoon type animals , we were bitten terribly at night by sand fleas, just overall it need a overhaul.

The property is VERY dated. The beach is non existent, there really is no beach... I was shocked frankly. There were huge sand bags, and inches thick seaweed EVERYWHERE.. and the smell!. Our first room had no AC, and the toilet was not working, and a quite dated room with no view.. We immediately went to the front desk, spoke with "Eddie" who acted like he could care less.. He told us to stay in the room for the night and return the next morning to "see" if we could change rooms...ugh. The next morning we changed rooms after much debate.. it was in better condition, but not great by any standard. I have traveled to Mexico/Caribbean numerous times, this was by far the worst resort we have stayed at. Understand we didn't pay a lot for our week long stay, however.. the property need a massive influx of cash to update to stay competitive to neighboring hotels. I know it sounds like I'm angry... just disappointed. If your looking for a great resort, beach, and above average food/service... skip this "resort" term used very loosely. NOTED: I spoke to or Orbitz representative at our Hotel while we were there, he spoke to the front desk representatives about the condition of our room.. the front desk staff dismissed him immediately and ignored him. The Orbitz rep at the hotel is really only there to sell you excursions and set up transportation to get you back to the airport. Only being honest...

I loved everything from the staff to the excellent food to the Resort t was a amazing experience & will definitely recommend & cant wait to go back ❤ thank you Blue Bay😍

Need to stop the sales persons to stop harassing the travelers. I understand this is their job once you say no should not be approach by them anymore.

My family and I just got back home from this 2 weeks vacation in Blue bay Esmeralda and all of us are disappointed. I have a 7 and an 8 year old sons, and I asked them to grade this hotel. They both gave a negative 3. I asked my wife and she couldn’t wait to go home on the first day we arrived. One of the property manager asked me how is the hotel? After I finish my complaints, she said that we have high standards. I replied, that we have stayed in motel six last month traveling and at least they provide basic needs like hot water free high speed internet, etc. Blue bay Esmeralda is a cheap management hotel would not provide simple hot water. They limit to warm water usage only. The internet is in and out and slow like when I was in college when we were dialing in the telephone line back in the nineties. Most of their rooms don’t have ac, so I requested to change room, after 5 different rooms I have checked out, finally I got one room that have ac blasting all the time, which you can’t adjusted automatically. So at night it gets really cold due to the ac continueslly blasting away, we have to sleep in the freezing temperatures unless I have to get up and shut it off. Food is ok, drinks are limited as well to cheap liquor. Some staff are friendly but some are expecting tips constantly. And some of them are so rude. The list goes on but I would not recommend this place.

This was a nice property. Kind of far from everything. If you want to go to downtown cancun, playa de carmen, or anything, it’s about 20 minutes away. service was friendly, no much to do after hours. But a nice clean place to drink and get away.

The hotel had a horrible smell! The rooms were deteriorated and dirty. The service, awful.

Pools were a little overpopulated, beach was small and rocky.

Pool was very nice. Beach was a major disappointment. Enjoyed all the animals, for the price was satisfied, would not stay again however. Room air conditioning was lacking, excellent housekeeping and bar service.. Issues with Expedia/orbitz personnel on site. Not available during stated times.

The pool and beach area was very nice; had lots of animals around the resort which was fun to see; the food in the buffet could be better

Overall, everything was fine. Nothing unique about it.

Property needs more powerful wi-fi with a good coverage across it

The beach is good, about 1 km from the room, but the bottom of the ocean full of big rocks and my husband I couldn't enter water and I couldn't swim because my hands got stones at the bottom and it to do there was my main goal to be in the resort.

Everything about the hotel is good, except the beach.

I'm really enjoyed my trip and the stay on this Hotel.But this is thanks for two special person .One is Jorge from the main pool behind the columpios Bar, he works on 9 to 5 shift and the other one Will be Carlos from the Columpios Bar.This two person really are special people .They really enjoy attend the customer.The are really friendly and they Do the best for you receive more than you paid .The all personal from this hotel need to learn from this two persons.They really are five stars
