Beautiful property
Service was outstanding.
The property is beautiful and the staff is very helpful/professional. The pool experience is wonderful and similar to a luxury resort. With that said, there were basic amenities missing that could have made the stay amazing. Things such as not having wash clothes available in the rooms, lack of a water bottle filling station, lack of coffee makers in the rooms, poor lighting in the rooms, inefficient/poor food drink service at the pool and the lack of towels at the pool for the first 3 hours we were there was disappointing. The pool had obviously not been cleaned the day we were there as it had numerous insects, feathers, and other debris floating in it first thing in the morning. The Orleans Restaurant service was a mess. They couldn’t get our bills right after three tries. The food was bland and certainly not worth the ridiculous prices. Would recommend brunch at one of the lovely places down the street from the hotel instead of the hotel itself. Overall, a fun place to spend the weekend but for the price, it’s missing many amenities that are part of a luxury experience.
This property is not ready to be open to the public. The staff are clearly untrained at all levels of the operation—in specialized positions it seems clear they have minimal experience at best. Examples: Bartenders don’t know components of basic drinks or even the difference between Pinot Noir and Pinot Grigio; servers don’t know food well enough to tell you what they’re dropping at your table (when I was served a dish I didn’t order in place of my Tartare, I was told that it WAS the Tartare—later they came back, picked it up and proceeded to serve it to a different table); front desk told me to use Orbitz in order to extend my stay (“we don’t do that at the front desk”); there is no information in guest rooms about restaurants/amenities/neighborhood/etc. and the staff provide inaccurate info when asked; didn’t have access to WiFi and was told there was nothing that could be done because they aren’t “IT experts”—I could go on and on and on. This property is completely unprepared to provide the most basic level of service, let alone what should be expected for these prices. And what will ensure I never return to a Kimpton property is that when I brought these issues to staff’s attention, there was clearly ZERO intention of making up for services and products that were botched or not provided. I was here Sun-Mon—with what seemed to be an empty house. This amateur staff will surely flounder even harder w/ even a moderate level of business. It’s a top to bottom failure folks.
The hotel is absolutely beautiful, the staff is outstanding. Both restaurants were closed as were both bars both days we stayed. Additionally, there were a number of unattended animals in rooms making noise. These two factors will likely prevent us from staying in the future.
From pulling in to valet park to check-in staff is very welcoming and friendly. The rooms are beautiful, bed is comfortable, and the outdoor pool is awesome!
The hotel has a great outdoor area that includes a pool, a hottub, and a bar. My children were super excited about enjoying some swimming after a long drive. Sadly, without any warning from the staff we soon realized there was an special event happening very inappropriate for children. There are a couple of on-site restaurants but one of them is close Sundays and Mondays. The only restaurant available was understaff with a very small menu. We decided to order burgers but the meat tasted like it was previously frozen...The breakfast area was super cute with a french vibe if only the would have had a chef... After sitting for a few minutes we were told there was no chef or staff which was quite dissapointing when you book a room that includes breakfast. Overall, the hotel was cleaned, modern and with a lot of potencial. Perhaps, new management...
The building had history but was very well maintained and was visually pleasing. Very good restaurant and beautiful pool area in a very good location. Staff need some training they did not greet you with a smile and made no overtures to try to make amends for mistakes and huge delays. The brunch menu is very limited and service was exceptionally slow which continued through out.

The Kimpton Cottonwood Hotel is beautiful and charming. The lobby level and restaurant are bright, open and inviting. The lower level bar and restaurant are stunning. A beautiful restoration juxtaposed with new fixtures.
The property is beautiful. Checking in was difficult. There check-in time is 4:00. Had to wait in line for 30 minutes. It was a Saturday, though.
