When booking the room I requested a two room loft suite and was very excited to see it when I checked into the hotel I was told I needed to pay an additional fee for incidentals which I have never heard of paying ahead of time before but whatever we paid it we went to check into a one-room sweet and we're still charged the price for the two later on that night my husband and I decided we wanted to go have some drinks for the happy hour only to find out that the Happy Hour Discount price was $10 per drink I've lived on the East Coast I visited the west coast and I've drank in the midwest before and this is kind of ridiculous for a cheap non top-shelf rum and Sprite drink I could see charging $10 for something like a margarita but holy cow while we were hanging out in our hotel room later the night my husband noticed a few clumps of hair on the floor like rolled up gross shower hair the sheets didn't seem clean they felt like they had been slept in a lot and definitely were not feeling crisp and welcome in like I would imagine them to be honestly I don't think I will be coming back to the magnolia again although it is beautiful and historical which I 100% love I just feel like they overcharge ridiculously and under-deliver the one really great thing I can say about this place is that their breakfast is amazing and the fact that they offer that little card to hang on your door for breakfast delivery is absolutely awesome so kudos for that

The hotel vibe was great, the staff was awesome, the location is very convenient and my overall experience was great. I have no complaints about my stay. Thanks for being a comfortable stay.

Old hotel. Very small rooms. Good shuttle service.

Hotel is in the middle of courthouses and parking lots. Not walking distant to local eateries or hotspots. Nice restaurant/bar. The room I reserved was a premier loft with a kitchen, dining area, living room, and queen size bedroom on a second level. I paid the highest rate even though I am a Platinum VIP rewards members which gives me free upgrades when available but I didn't want to chance they'd run out of lofts. However, the room I was assigned to had an awful view of just wires down below, it was a 2-story walk up and had a pungent stench. I thought it was the charm of an older building but it turned out that the loft had not been cleaned and there was still old room service left behind in the bedroom and an un-flushed toilet, ew! I inquired about a possible upgrade which I was told was available but they "don't usually provide that upgrade" in case someone pops up to pay the full price which was $70 more and that bummed me out. Obviously I was moved to another room which had a better view of an outdoor exterior detail with exposed brick. I was comped with a free meal for dinner and breakfast after breaking down in tears because the only reason I came to visit was to view the total eclipse in St. Joseph, Missouri and decided to make a road trip out of it because I was recently diagnosed with Stage4 colon cancer at the young age of 37 so it was my last hurrah. It did not meet my expectations but I appreciated that they did all they could to make it right. Thank u!

Everything was lovely. The doorman/concierge, Josh really defined the attitude of the hotel, gracious and kind

The staff were very friendly and helpful, the room was very comfortable and well equipped.

This is a classic hotel with somewhat dated butconfirtable accommodations. Thebes and bath facilities were good and the closet space quite adequate. It was easy to get around this somewhat smaller hotel. The location was reasonably convenient to major sites and shopping.

Beautique hotels have a point to prove, I guess. When done well with extraordinary thought, they can prove a delight. When thought falls short, a guest might be forgiven for wondering, "What are they thinking?" The windows are filthy. There is no note paper or writing tool. There is no drinking glass or soap dish in the bath. Hell, there is no bath soap in the bath. The tub fixtures may last the duration of my stay -- or not. Why is an ask for check-out later than eleven o'clock answered with, "No. No. A thousand times, no. And don't ask again." Oh, and the complimentary soggy bacon, sausage and egg breakfast shown on the web site? "We stopped that more than a year ago. The soggy buffet breakfast is now added to your room tab." We think Magnolia falls short. We won't be back.

Had a great stay over the fourth of July. Liked the hotel. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Very professional.

We stayed 12 days for CWS in Executive suite and felt part of the family by the time we left. Room was a two story suite with bedroom/bath upstairs and living room bar area down. Excellent staff, great space and wonderful stay

The only positive part of the experience were the hotel staff who were friendly and informative. The thermostat in our room wouldn't work and we had an used towel in our room. Since we had a tight schedule visiting places, we knew our time in the hotel would be very minimal so we made a conscious choice not to complain. Noise travels easily into the room.

The room was comfortable and quiet. The breakfast includes hot dishes as well as continental. The location is great. It is close to good restaurants and bars as well as parks and good walking areas. An easy drive to the zoo and botanical gardens.

What a fantastic place to celebrate a special occasion! This hotel has old world charm with modern conveniences. Loved the free shuttle to the Old Market area, the cookies and milk every night, and the delicious breakfasts. There is not a fridge in the room and the wireless internet did not work well.

While we enjoyed our stay, here are a few suggestions for the hotel to make it a 5 star experience: -free parking -fresher breakfast (cold eggs are not appealing) -warm cookies (we went each night at 8:00 and the cookies were not freshly baked) -an ice maker on each floor

Unfriendly front females stuff. ( Exept the Chinese gentleman ). No shuttle available when called at midnight from the airport.

Very average hotel. Needs attention to overall cleanliness of the hotel. Carpet in the hall is stained. Paint needs touching up. Average workout facility. Staff at the front desk have an attitude that it truly is just a job. Mattresses and pillows are horrible. Bathroom door doesn't completely close. Susie is a great waitress in the bar. She was the best part of our stay friendly and helpful. She made sure we were satisfied with our drinks. I will be there again in 1 month for a conference, I wish I was looking forward to going back there.

Loved it! Super clean, very friendly, loved it! Couldn't recommend another hotel more.

Lovely hotel! The staff was so pleasant. My kids (teenagers) enjoyed the milk and cookies and the breakfast was awesome. Nice location too!

The people at the hotel do a lot of nice things for you--free shuttle service, free wine in the evening, milk and cookies, etc. I do wish their computers were free, however, or free for the first 10 minutes or so.
