When I arrived I checked in and asked where I can park. The attendant said the hotel parking is $23 a night in the garage, on the other end of the block or I can on the street till 8am. Not wanting to carry 200lbs of gear in for maybe 5 hours of sleep, I ask of the street was safe? I was given an odd look and was told “I wouldn’t”. Not a great start to the next couple hours. I left to find any food places and after realizing there wasn’t anything open. Headed back to get at least a couple hours sleep…. I thought.
Now that I’m in the room, there is a VERY strong cigarette Oder and it was on EVERYTHING (even my clothes I was wearing as I left. Needing sleep, I was going to blow it off until I shut off the lights to find that there is a 2”gab under the door and a mirror placed opposite of the head of the bed. As soon as you turn off the light in the room, the light in the hall way turns into a spot light aiming right for your head (think Batman). But then you add the broken blower in the bathroom which has the sound of kids banging pots in the other room.
Even if pack up, go downstairs, and ask for a new room… I wasn’t going to get a single min of sleep before I needed to be back on the road. Since I cannot sleep at the hotel I paid for, I figured ask for a refund and just getting back on the road. Not only did Expedia tell me that they can’t help, the hotel is the only one. The hotel was saying Expedia and that no one can help me till 8am, it was 2:30am.
