outdated , need a good facelift
This property is the worst property i have ever stayed at. Please military and people in general stay away. I stayed at the Wyndham for two weeks and dreaded every second of it. The property is very old and dirty. The staff for the most part are rude and unwelcoming. The o my reason they get people is because they are cheap in price, but the trade off was worse! I was screamed at at one point by the front staff to check out the property because I wasn’t covering my face correctly while other staff members had no masks at all. This property is a joke and no one should stay here.
This hotel was unexpectedly rundown, in a rougher area of town. Air in the room was very dry.
Toilet was running from the moment we checked in. Ended up flooding our room.
It was ok but I have not gotten back my 100.00 that was being held on my debit.
Location to nightlife and events. Near Amtrak and a rental car agency.
Pros: I love that the hotel was close to the Scope Arena. That's the main reason why I booked this place: My husband and I were attending an event there and the convenience of the place was superb; only a 5 minute walk to the arena. Check in was fast and friendly. It appears that that hotel has been remodeled. Our linens were clean, bed was extremely comfortable. Cons: My husband key stopped working during our stay. However when it happened we were too tired from the Arena Event to call to get it working again, I wasn't aware of the parking space fee until we checked in; small fee but it would've been nice to know in advance, depends on the room you're in, you can hear people's conversation and music through the walls, so that may be a hit or miss for others. Overall, it provided our needs so I'd return in the future and give it another shot.
Not that many amenities included. Bathroom too tiny
Location was nice and hotel had great room service
I had issues and there was no manager to assist. The staff was pleasant but uniformed and didn’t possess the knowledge to assist. I am beginning to feel like 3rd party booking IS NOT the way to go.
What I did not like was the breakfast was not included and what we had to pay for was not good. We had to choose items from a list from the restaurant. We had to pay ten dollars for parking which was unbelievable. And the rooms needed to be updated. But it was ok for a one night stay.
The property is conviently located to Norfolk Scope (Across the street), CHKD and Sentara Norfolk General. Rooms offer beautiful views. The rooms appeared and felt moderately clean. They offer in room coffee maker and Wolfgang pick brand coffee. However the rooms are very out dated. Chipped and missing chunks of paint/plaster on walls. Broken light fixtures. Doors that won’t close or lock on bathrooms/closets. The room was hot and stuff on a 90 degree day. I feel house keeping should adjust air when they know a check in will arrive in a room that day. There are cheap surge protectors on the floors with lamps, TVs, clocks plugged in to them. There really isn’t anywhere to plug in your lap tops, cell phones, etc. Parking is $10 per night which wasn’t easily notable on their orbitz page.
This was the worst experience I have ever had. The hotel rooms were not up to Code. The first room, was actually a double suite to someone else’s room. The second room, the phone didn’t work, the light fixtures were dull, the third room which was suppose to be their suite. The inside of the tub was chipping and dirty, the phone also didn’t work and the door did not secure properly. The manager became rude because I asked for a refund because after given 3 different rooms none were up to par. The manager told me that the “paint is a little chipped” when asked would he say shower in a chipped tub, he said yes. So at that point. I was done. I am still fighting to get a full refund when I only spent a hour in that hotel.
Bugs in the room. Bathroom was gross. weird smell in the hallways
Room is very old and dated and out dated or needs a lot of upgrades in order for it to be a nice as the lobby.
Be prepared for lots of stairs. Everywhere! Hotel seemed to be on the decline.
