It was nice
Location
Upon checking in was given a room with a dirty bathroom, thus I requested a new room. I discovered bugs around the microwave in the new room during the night. They appeared to be roaches running around on and under the microwave. It was late and my daughter was asleep so we stayed, but I did not sleep thereafter. I advised the front desk clerk upon check out.
Everything was great. Could be have used a good vacuuming on the hall carpets. Otherwise, great.
Very clean, very good location in the heart of Hampton
First of all Orbitz didn't book a suite for me even though I said that I was traveling with one other adult and two children. So our room only had two queen size beds. The toilet didn't work and the maintenance man came in and said that when the hotel was at full capacity, sometimes the water pressure was low. So he said it needed time to fill up after each person used it. So we followed his instructions and it flushed. The cord connecting the receiver to the room phone was broken and he brought another one but the phone still didn't work. He also brought a cot for the children to sleep on. Later that night at 2am I took a shower and the water wouldn't turn off, so the security guard came up. When she called the front desk to tell them that she couldn't get it turned off either the receptionist said there was no maintenance on at that time of night. So it seemed like she was saying that we would have to sleep in a room with the bathtub filling up with water. So after several more attempts the guard finally got the water to shut off. She said you had to push it in hard while turning the knob.
My bathroom smelled like sewage and the phone did not work so I couldn't call down. I had to walk downstairs to tell them of the issue and they never came to look at the bathroom. We only stayed for 1 night so we just dealt with it. My daughter was laughing at 8:30pm and i got a knock at the door that she need to be quiet. It wasn't 9pm and she wasn't even laughing that loud. I will be the first to tell her to be quiet if I felt it was loud. I won't stay here again.
Staff was friendly and great! Door handle in bathroom was broken.
