We had a reservation for a room with 2 queen beds. The room was not available until 3pm. We were offered an “upgrade” - a room with a king size bed. The room was much smaller than the original room would have been. The safe would not lock and no one would be sent to repair it unless we were in the room even the maids came in and out. Our friends got a larger room even though their reservation had never gone through. Our room was very dark.

Very nice hotel with a very helpful and attentive staff. Convenient location to anything in Midtown. However, my favorite thing about this hotel is the size of the room. Most boutique Hotel rooms in NYC are on the small side. My room was spacious and elegant. Thank you, I will be back!

Booked this on Orbitz, packaged with Flights. Obviously picked the hotel/flight combo based on rate. Hotel said "breakfast included" and said hotel has wifi. Confirmation said there was an "additional fee" for wifi, fitness facilities, fax, business center, breakfast, cocktail hour, etc. IF NOT INCLUDED IN RATE. This was on the confirmation, after I had booked. We were traveling with my son, so there were 3 of us in this room and that fee was $49 per person per night. That jacked the hotel rate up almost $130 PER NIGHT. It DID NOT say this 'additional fee' was mandatory for those services we did not need, want or use. I notified Orbitz arguing that "breakfast included" in my rate indicated to me that the fee was in my rate. I complained to Orbitz and the hotel responded, saying "they would take care of it onsite". They did nothing! Would have never booked this hotel if this FEE was used in comparing the hotel rates. The hotel itself was very nice, but we are in NYC, so we are going out to eat meals and not returning to our hotel for cocktails. Maybe if someone is traveling for business or staying for a while, it would be nice to have those "additional" amenities, but we did not need or use them. I suspected it was a way to make the package rate look appealing. I will never stay here again. When you add that mandatory fee to the rate, there are other great options at a better value.

The hotel is very pretty, comfortable and clean. We were greeted promptly and the staff was very friendly. They do charge a resort fee for the afternoon charcuterie and wine along with the breakfast but it is well worth it. We took advantage of both and they were quite nice. Being in NYC where we were spending $15-20 on a glass of wine this was a great deal and held us well so we could enjoy a late dinner.

i'd recommend the westhouse if you want to stay uptown. it's very quiet and the service is solid. room is a nice size and well appointed. check the fine print because they hit you with a sizable daily charge to cover meals wifi etc. this might make sense for people who want to eat at the hotel but i did not.

Excellent location and staff was helpful and welcoming. Breakfast and 5:00 - 8:00 PM small plates were nice, however, Westhouse is convenient to excellent restaurants when wanting a full meal. Rooms were well kept and would certainly stay again.

I really didn't know what to expect but everything was so perfect really enjoyed my stay and Mo the gentleman behind the front desk an awesome person very helpful would definitely stay again..

We enjoyed our stay at the Westwood. The room was nice and the staff was great. Across the street was nice night life we spent our Christmas at the Westwood a great memory for us. Thank you

What a great find! Loved our stay and thought the bed and goose down pillows are the best!

It's a very clean hotel. Great quality beddings. Nice ambience

This was only our second time in nyc and our first time at this hotel. Such a great location between time square and central park. The staff was always very nice and very efficient. The bartenders were the best, loads of fun. Full breakfast in the morning and included drinks and dinner starting at 5 were both great. Can't wait to stay again next year.

Room was clean, bathroom is very small. What they didn't tell you, there is a $60 parking per day on top of $35 per person fees for amenities. Got slapped with $130 fees totaled at checkout. Not a good feeling. Over all so so.

My first stay in a New York 5 Star Hotel. Pricey and small but that's NYC. Great location close to everything. What made this hotel fun were the amenities in the morning and afternoon/evening. Open bar and apps and open breakfast made it fun. The concierge and bellmen were all very friendly and helpful. Would stay here again if it wasn't so gosh darn expensive.

Great location, great staff, I liked the add on for breakfast and cocktails. The only complaint was that the AC was turned off on a specific date for the season, and I was a bit too hot in the room, and dont like to sleep wit the window open. But will stay here again.

First, we've stayed at 7 different hotels in Manhattan previously. The WestHouse is far and away the best. On this trip, We wanted a location that would allow us to access all that the Times Square area has to offer but yet offer a relaxing area to sit and enjoy the experience that is NYC. The WestHouse is an excellent choice. The resident fee (well documented in advance) is a bargain when you consider the value of relaxing in a well appointed and relaxing space with food and drink during the day and night. The hotel staff does an excellent job of taking care of guests - upgrade to a King bed and help with the coffee maker that is far more complicated to operate than it should be. Wifi worked but was not strong and the room temperature was a little warm, due to the unseasonably warm December weather. Even with these minor inconveniences, our stay at the WestHouse was more all that we'd hoped for and more.

Everything went well with my stay at WestHouse except for the fact that my room wasn't ready when I arrived at 6 PM. They made other arrangements within 10 minutes and tried to appease me with an "upgrade" to a king from a queen room. I would stay here again, but come on WestHouse, you've got to have your rooms ready for new guests by 6 PM

Okay just to be clear, this is a very small hotel. It is actually the top 6 floors of the Park Central Hotel. So because of it's size it's a very quiet and intimate place to stay. With that being said this is nowhere close to a 5 star hotel. What makes a 5 star hotel a 5 star hotel is the staff's attentiveness and the level of service they provide. And while there are some nice people that work at Westhouse they are really lacking is many areas. I stayed at the ritz for the first half of my trip and the level of service was night and day. The only thing these 2 hotels had in common was comparable pricing, the service at the Ritz puts the westhouse to shame. Here are a few examples. 1. Many times when I left the hotel there was no one available to flag a cab for you. This is a big deal because this place is on a side street. 2. No room service/restaurant/bar in the building (that speaks for it's self) 3. While I was taking a shower I suddenly heard someone BANGING on my bathroom door. When I asked how can I help you, this rude male individual asked if I wanted my room cleaned, to which I responded "sir I am clearly in the shower, can you please return at a later time." Unbelievable! That incident alone was the best indication of the level of some of the employees there.

While aesthetically the hotel is a gem, there were some tiny hiccups with my stay. I stayed 4/29-4/30. Overall, everything is sparkly and new. From the carpets to the desk, it's all an A+. The room are small, but typically small for an NYC hotel. The location is great - wedged between Central Park and Times Sq. Staff is very friendly. I was upgraded to a king bed with a Times Sq. view - the beds are comfy and the TVs are massive. However, they turned the AC off at night. After waking up sweating and checking the thermostat, it said 75 in the room, but was to 65. I let the front desk know and they told me they turned off the AC because it was "cold" outside. Assuming this is to keep costs down, I would advise them not to do that. Both of my night stays were incredibly uncomfortable - especially the second. The front desk said they'd have my thermostat checked just to be safe, but what they ended up doing was opening the windows and closing the shade. So, all night I couldn't understand why it was SO LOUD in my room, until I opened the shade in the morning. I got no sleep. Tip to hotel: People like to sleep in cool temperatures - DON'T TURN THE AC OFF.
