Room was clean. Nice contemporary/modern design layout. Restaurant food was excellent. Good location.

The staff was friendly and very helpful. The room was quiet and comfortable. The roof top bar was a nice extra!

The fire alarms went off multiple times and everyone had to exit the stairs to the lobby while firemen investigated. All of this occurred after midnight. In the end someone set off a fire exit. The hotel should of been monitoring the fire exits closer. Not a pleasant night of sleep.

I found the staff friendly and accommodating, the hotel was clean and room comfortable.

The hotel was in a great area, easy to get to anywhere we wanted to go. The room was clean, but the walls were very thin. My biggest complaint is hearing staff vacuuming at 2:30 in the morning. The front desk staff were very helpful and friendly though.

The staff was amazing and so helpful! We will go back to this hotel again!

Nice central location on Garment District Side street that these days is pretty quiet, certainly on nights and weekends. City view room was smallish, but had nice Empire State view.

Nice place! Good value for NYC. Terrible view from room, but not a big deal.

Great downtown location-walking distance to ESB and most attractions. Staff was friendly as well.

Exceeded expectations, friendly in. NY very good restaurant.

Away from the bustling crowd, this boutique hotel is really nice for a weekend getaway. It's a convenient walk away from restaurants and night life.

The staff was amazing! Very accomodating & friendly. Rooftop bar was fun. Delicious chocolates every night with the turndown service.

Our stay was great. The staff were very friendly and accommodating, and we couldn't have asked for anything better with regards to location. The hotel is 1-2 blocks away from many nice restaurants, Bryant Park, and the New York Public Library. Be sure to check out the Highline - it's about 20 minutes away walking, but is a great place to take a leisurely stroll.

While the rooms could be significantly bigger, the location makes up for any other shortcomings. If you're visiting New York and plan to spend more time touring the city than sitting in your room, this is a great place.

Everything perfect from our first step through the door opened by a welcoming doorman. Centrally located in midtown Manhattan. Elegantly appointed rooms, rooftop lounge with spectacular view of hoe Empire State Building. Unbelievable staff!

For a first timer, especially after listening to your friends' hotel stories, when you finally decide to go to New York you feel a little bit worry. A lot of "what ifs" start to move through your head...And here is where Strand Hotel comes like a nice surprise: clean rooms, very friendly staff (and professional as well), the perfect location (not too close to get annoyed by the "action", but not too far to be tired of walking), close proximity to different restaurants and cafes, subway stations and main tourist attraction (e.g. Empire State Building is 2 blocks away) etc. Overall: a great experience for the right price.

The Strand is located a few blocks south and East of Times Square. The staff is the friendliest I have every experienced. We asked to be moved to a quieter room and they did everything necessary to make it happen. The roof deck is just spectacular with a unique (in a good way) view of the Empire State Building. One odd thing about the room was that they do not have "regular" pillows on the bed. Instead they are small square ones.

Great place at reasonable price. A safe street close to all but not a lot on the street itself

The Hotel location was ideal for all the NYC attractions ... 2 blocks from Bryant park & walk-able distance from Times square and other places ... The room quality was great and the staff was equally attentive to all the guests ... Roof top views were amazing ...overall an excellent Hotel to stay in NYC !!!

The Strand Hotel was the perfect place for 2 ladies on vacation! The location was nice and close to Bryant Park, the NY Public Library, Macy's, and many subway stations. The staff were very friendly and helpful, and the room comfortable. I would love to stay there again!
