After being mislead by the online presentation we booked this hotel. As evacuees fleeing Hurricane Dorian following a mandatory evacuation we arrived to this hotel. The atmosphere was rather grim. We requested a chance to look at the room. The room we viewed was not correct. we booked a double bed and were showing a room with a single bed . in addition the room is in clean and smells very badly and also of cigarette smoke . we booked a non-smoking room . we arrived around 9:40 am well before the 12 noon book in time. We decided that the hotel was not appropriate for us and requested a refund without even checking in the hotel general manager refuse to provide us with a refund . Her attitude was condescending arrogant and fairly impolite . rather than fight with her over a refund which seem to be what she wanted, so we simply decided to leave and obtain our refund through an alternative method . The room was bought via a third party company, who we called, however they could not obtain anyone at the hotel via phone in order to obtain our refund . The general manager and staff at the hotel made it a point not to answer the phone from the third-party company . Sadly these people are criminals and will steal your money, it is not a safe location and the rooms are not clean and smell heavily of cigarette smoke . I cannot recommend this location to anyone. as evacuees from the major hurricane we were already stressed and upset having to leave our home and work unexpectedly in order to get out of the way of the affects of the storm. so all of that stress on top of having to deal with these inconsiderate people at this hotel made for a very upsetting experience . so profound that we decided to leave Montgomery Alabama completely and travel to the Gulfport to find a more professional and established lodging location.

This is absolutely the worse place I have ever stayed. Listen if your good with dirty rooms ,broken A/C, dirty sheets, sketchy places that are infested with filth this is your place. Very out dated. I have personally stayed in bad parts of Memphis that where castles in comparison.

The GM was rude, abrasive & confrontational. Should have been a red flag. The place is in utter disrepair. They don't even check the fridge when u leave bc whoever had my room left a bunch of groceries. Toliet stooped up waited almost 3 hrs before a plunger was given. This place is so bad that I took pictures. I couldn't microwave anything bc the microwave is so gross. It's cheap, I get that but these are things that need to be looked into. When the GM is that nasty, I will suggest it sets a tone for everyone working there. I cannot see this place in business 3 yrs down the road. The owner should get there promptly

Wouldn’t rate these rooms at all. The only perk was that there was carparking and washing machines on site. Loved that we payed for a non-smoking room that stunk like cigarettes. There were people walking around on the street and in the ground drunk, it was off of a noisey road and our toilet was not working properly.

I enjoyed the simplicity of the room and the bed and pillows were great! However, there are some big issues in regards to the room I was given. First off, the room wasn’t cleaned until 2:30 on check in. The two glaring problems are as follows a) the shower head was cracked? Spraying water onto the ceiling allowing for a cold drip onto my head and more to the point the entire floor was wet. With b) it was the fact that my door doesn’t lock from the outside. I was able to deadbolt at night but during the day I was concerned about my C-Pap machine being taken.

Are you sure you want to keep a place like this on your list of hotels??? This place is a total dump! I went to the room looked around and knew from appearance , smell noise and surrounding that I would not dare lay my head in that place!!! You guys should be ashamed to advertise this dump in your site!

Jackie the front desk clerk was very nice and cordial...the room was not ready when we arrived and had to make a trip back quickly when called because the front desk closed at 4pm...the carpet should have been replaced many years ago as it was musty and damp...the furniture was worn and security was questionable...we put a family member up in this room and he was okay with it but I would not suggest this establishment for families or females...

In all my travels this was the worse lodging. I checked-in on Sunday afternoon, the desk person could not work the printer for me to sign their paperwork. So I was asked to return in the morning to sign the paperwork. The problem was their hours of operation was 8:00 am - 8:00 pm. and I had to be at work at 7:30 am. When I got to my room I was startled (as a professional business man) at the condition of the room. In need of paint, flooring, and the smell was overwhelming. I tried the remote and it did not turn the TV on. I went to the office and the desk clerk said, :Oh that room must need two remotes to operate the TV". She had the technician come when I went to dinner to code a second remote. While I was out I tried to get a room at another hotel and there were none available. I had to go to the store and purchase for fresheners, bottled water, etc. On Monday evening I returned to the hotel at 7:45 pm to sign the necessary paperwork and the office was closed. The condition of the room was dirty, not all the flooring was tiled, no cups for drinking, air conditioner was very loud. Neighbors were very loud and because of the undesirable part of town there were up ALL night. On the following morning the parking lot was totally littered with beer cans and alcohol bottles. The following morning (Tuesday) I stayed (30 minutes late for work) to sign the paperwork, the desk clerk on Tuesday was like I was bothering her, and she barely arrived at 8:00 am. I returned to my room on Tuesday evening around 9:00 pm (very long day) and my room did not receive room service; no clean towels, bed not made, bathroom not cleaned, etc. The check-out procedure was the turning-in of TV remotes, so on Wednesday morning I again stayed till 8:00 am to return the two remotes as a check-out procedure and had to wait for the clerk to arrive, when she did and saw I was standing there, she got involved in a discussion with a maintenance person that could not speak English and was not able to explain to the clerk the maintenance problem. She finally came to me and asked "Can I help you" while I am standing there with two remotes in my hand. She said she forgot her keys and could not open the office, and someone was going to bring them to her. I asked how long and she not tell me. I told her I was checking out, and she said I can take the remotes and check-me out when the keys arrive, but could not fund my deposit. I said I do not have a deposit I paid ahead of time with Expedia. She then took the remotes and I left for work. As a professional business person this was the first time I used Expedia and the first time I stayed at the Tay Lodge. I will not stay at that establishment again under any circumstances, I will not ever use Expedia again, and I would recommend Expedia never use that hotel for anyone ever, it is a disgrace. Thank you for your time.

Good: 1. Very cheap in comparison with other near by hotel 2. Walking distance, Walmart and lots of food options 3. Easy public convenience Bad: 1. Lot of noise near by area 2. Avoid going outside after 9 PM 3. Not good for family

Customer service when I check in was excellent. My family felt safe and secure with many great places to eat nearby. There was also free wifi that was really fast. I travel a lot to Montgomery and for this price I think this is the best place I have stayed at. Highly recommend! A+++.
