My stay was awesome the lady at front desk Mrs.Tracey was extra sweet she actually recommend me to book my stay through TripAdvisor the rooms was clean and cozy the staffs was all friendly I will definitely be staying here again
Quality should change their name to NO QUALITY! I have never stayed in such a "dive"! Bugs in the shower and bathroom area. Safe that didn't work, breakfast that I wouldn't eat if I were starving, holes patched in walls and filthy dirty. Staff was nice but I can't get over how dirty and run down this place was. Full to the brim due to the storm and how they can charge desperate people top dollar, 170.69 a night is just unbelievable! To top it off we left after one night and they charged for two plus pending charges for another 8 days! Talk about ripping people off. Do yourself a favor and DON'T GO!!!!
This property overall is very well maintained. Large spacious rooms! Great breakfast! Pool and hot tub indoors, fitness center and guest laundry! The best part is the staff...amazingly helpful and friendly! We are here due to Hurricane Irma along with many others and can truly appreciate true Southern Hospitality!
After driving forever I stopped to get a room and the girl at the front desk was so helpful and nice I think her name was Megan , the room was big and mostly clean except the cabinets, the only thing that really kinda grossed me out was when I stripped the sheets off to make sure I didn't lose anything the comforter has a huge stain on it , overall quiet stay for the night and was allowed a late checkout without being hounded by housekeepers.
We rented a suite at this hotel for one night pre cruise. It included a one night stay plus shuttle service to and from port and parking at the hotel during the cruise. We had 7 people in our group, one being a 3 year old. There was plenty of room in the suite, we were actually surprised how roomy it was. The indoor pool was awesome, and very clean. The housekeeper, not sure of her name, but she was awesome and made sure we had enough of everything we needed. The breakfast was not great and nothing like the buffet breakfast that we've had at other Quality Inns, and the breakfast attendant was very rude and snappy. Other than that the stay was really good. The stay included shuttle service to and from port. It was an outside shuttle company. The name was Derek's Taxi Service. We called them as soon as we checked in to the hotel and made arrangements about what time we wanted to be picked up the following morning. Told them we had a voucher for the service that include 7 people. They asked how many big suitcases we had. We told them, and also told them how many smaller ones and bags we had, even though they didn't ask that. We assumed they were asking to see what size taxi to bring. When Derek's brother arrived, in a minivan, we were kinda shocked. We didn't mind squeezing in and didn't mind having to hold a few smaller bags at our feet. Derek's brother was very nice, I believe his name was George. He got us to the port even earlier than requested, which was completely fine with us. I'd rather be early anyway. He dropped us off and unloaded all of our luggage. Everything was good, we had a great time. Then 30 minutes prior to disembarking, Derek sent us an email. The email stated that we had way too much luggage and people, and that we would be charged an extra fee for them coming to pick us up. My husband called him and informed him that when we called him the night before the cruise we told them how many people and bags of luggage we had. This went on for several minutes back and forth. Derek stated that we never told him that. We called the hotel, I'm not sure what her name was, but she was very helpful with the entire situation, and told us not to worry that they would handle everything. We booked this as a package deal and they should have never contacted us in the first place. Derek and his brother were both sitting outside waiting on us when we got off the ship in 2 different vans this time. Thanks to Quality Inn for turning a stressful last minute situation into a stress free situation! We would probably stay here again in the future.
We were on our way home from a Florida vacation and needed a quick and convenient stopover in Mobile. I found this one for only 8000 points. Upon arrival, the front desk staff person was extremely courteous and polite. The checkout process took a little longer than usual but overall it was fine. The strange thing was that in addition to the typical form you must sign about no pets, no smoking, and the room rate, the clerk presented a second form with a long list of do's and don'ts. Honestly, I was so tired from a long day of driving that I just skimmed the document and signed it. What I remember of the document was about maximum number of people in the rooms, the pool rules, and some other details. Then she asked, "Exactly how many people will be staying in your room?" I thought that was strange and I said, "Exactly two." She handed me two armbands and said, you don't have to actually wear them, but you must have them to enter the pool area or the breakfast room. Wow. A long list of extra "rules and regs" and armbands. Just what kind of clientele stay at this hotel? The room was large but needed a refresh. The carpeting was so stretched and puckered you could actually stumble over the folds. The bathroom had old style ceramic tile and some of the grout lines were black. Either a housekeeping or maintenance item for sure. Other than that, we just collapsed after our long day and slept well. The beds and AC were fine. Next morning, the breakfast was the typical Quality Inn fare, except that the eggs were real instead of powdered, and thee was no sausage or bacon. We didn't have to show our armbands (ha ha) but there were a couple of employees standing off to the side observing. We finished eating, checked out, and were on our way. I stay in hotels a lot, for business and for pleasure, and this was a strange stay.
Upon arrival, my husband was checking in and another couple was leaving the lobby and the woman was simply shaking her head at me in the car. My husband informed me that they were leaving because their room was covered in mold. That should have been our first indication to leave. However, since we had already driven 14 hours and only intended to stay for a 5 hour "nap" we assumed it couldn't be bad enough to not meet out needs. When we got to our room, we took off our tennis shoes and our socks were soaked by the carpet which was soaked with "?" In the bathroom, the toilet seat was covered with urine and pubic hair, and looked as if it hadn't been cleaned in months. The final straw for us was finding a red stain and what appeared to be pubic hair on the bed sheets. While the desk clerk was quick to refund us, this was a very disappointing and disgusting experience. If you are traveling through this area, I would recommend that you continue driving!
When we first arrived, the desk attendant told me that she could not find our reservation, and we must be at the wrong Qualtiy Inn. I showed her my printed out confirmation email, and after about 10 minutes, she found it. We got to our room, which did not really meet our expectations, but we were only going to be there for 2 nights, and thought we would just deal with it. The bathroom door wouldn't close. The air conditioner made a very loud banging noise, and it was overall just dirty and in major need of remodeling. We went to check out the pool, which was very important considering our 12 hours drive that day. Our kids had been looking forward to swimming when we got to the hotel. On the door of the pool area was a sign stating pool closed for maintenance. It appeared it had been closed for quite a bit. This was a deal breaker for us. We decided to just go talk to the front desk and tell them we were unsatisfied, and would be checking out. The desk attendant argued with me for 10 minutes as to why we shouldn't check out. She stated that the pool had been shut down by the health department due to the water being too cloudy. I told her no worries, we weren't upset, we were just going to go find a hotel with a working pool. She got very defensive, refused to refund me for our 2 night stay, stating that once you check in, they don't do refunds. We had been there 30 minutes. Enough time to haul in our luggage and find out the pool was out of order. We left anyway. Found a Holiday Inn right around the corner that bent over backwards to accommodate us. I called corporate the next week and they also refused to do anything about our experience. I called the hotel back and finally after much arguing, got all but $80 refunded from our $275 original charge. Horrible experience!!!!!
Rented room 6/30 and 7/1/17 and arrived to realize the air conditioner did not work. Staff said they were sold out and could not change room and could not repair air conditioner. Checked out on 7/2/17 with the promise from the staff they would call the number on file and make it right. We had to call them twice before getting a call back from the manager Angela who was rude and argumentative and told me she could give me $10 discount on one night and $20 on the other. Seriously! We asked for a fan to provide some relief and they did not have one. We opened the window because it was cooler outside than in the room (In Alabama in the middle of the summer...). Not to mention the room was dirty on top of being hot. I paid $273.86 to stay in a room without an air conditioner and then had the manager Angela argue with me. I would stay under a bridge before opting to stay here again.
Even though we got an room upgrade, I was disappointed. The room wasn't cleaned during 3 day stay, even though we told them the next day. There was a roach on the ceiling and the window sill had gunk on it. The refrigerator was so noisy, we unplugged it. The room location was also noisy, being near the air handler. The bathroom door didn't fit, so it wouldn't close. The plugs on the lamp were upside down, so my phone charger wouldn't fit, so I put a book under it. The lumpy pillow turned out to be stuffed with other bedding and pillowcase. The sink hot water valve was turned off, but worked when I turned it on. The breakfast was missing items which were replaced when we asked, but included no meats. The hot water for tea wasn't, but the server did get us some.
