Rooms were under construction (paint retouching everywhere). The 1st room that I was assigned to had wet carpet, the staff thinks that the carpet might have been cleaned. The 2nd room had very little TV reception when I reported it to the staff I was told that all of the reception was bad, even though it was perfect on the TV in the lobby. So I spent the night watching TV on my phone.

Have stayed here multiple times. Called earlier in the day to inform front desk we would not be arriving until 11pm. When we arrived was informed my reservation had been canceled due to declined credt card. Not possible. More than enough funds on card to stay here multiple nights. Luckily they had a room at the same rate but still was not happy. Wownd up paying cash which was my original plan.

The rooms were dingy. The shower head fell off, electrical outlets not working, air conditioner unit making banging noises. Walls were thin; I could here the person next door snoring, going to the restroom, and phone conversations. Breakfast was horrible; grabbed milk that was curdled and things floating in the juice. I would never recommend staying here.

The facility could use renovation and update furnishings in the rooms and especially the bathroom fixtures, sinks and showers. Food service and staff are exceptional especially Charlie, thanks it was a good stay.

Accessible to interstate and convenient to our destination. Clean and well maintained.

We found the desk clerk to be very thoughtful and considerate. She had evrything under control. Well done!

I book this hotel because Orbitz assured me the hotel had 24 hour shuttle service. Our flight arrived at 12:05 am and when I called to arrange the pickup the hotel said the shuttle service only ran until 11:00 pm. WE had to take a taxi to the hotel. The hotel said they have told Orbitz several times they do not have 24 hour shuttle service but they do not change the information. Orbitz needs to do their job.

/the person who checked us in was very nice and helpful. The hotel is looking very worn. Our room was passable but I did not feel it was very clean. The trash had not been taken out from the previous people. Beds were comfortable but the air conditioner just blew warm air...

Hotel was good but the Desk Clerk and Manager need more training in accounting. When we checked in, we were told we did not prepay with Orbitz and the credit never posted to their account. So we gave the clerk the same credit card to reprocess. He then told us that card didn't work. We then gave him a card from the same account but ending in different numbers. I immediately received notification on my phone TWO transactions were just posted. We went down and talked to the manager who said everything would be corrected and the two would drop off the account. The orbitz charge was the correct one. The next morning we asked again and we were told everything was processed and ok. Five days later one of the charges moved from pending to billed. My credit card closes today and I am expected to pay that double amount, Called Clarion customer care to fix this yet again. She tried to reach the manager at the Clarion and was then told they will call me back some time tomorrow but that Orbitz would be calling because it is Orbitz job to fix the problem. Totally frustrated with false promises. Hoping tomorrow brings results.

If you take a close look at everything im this hotel, everything is either broken or run down. The outlet in the bathroom was broken so we couldnt use the hair dryer. The carpet looks really dirty.

To expensive for quality of room. Breakfast was poor.

For $99 a night this room was perfect for a quick weekend in Grand Rapids. Very close to shopping and restaurants. Only a short drive from Downtown.

People who waited on us were nice. We visited G.R. for ART Prize...

The elevator malfunction was huge inconvenience. I was traveling on business and had a lot of equipment that could not be safely stored in my car. It resulted in numerous trips dragging the cases up and down the stairs. The closest staircase was exterior with ice on it.

I'm sorry to hear about your problems checking in. However, we allow late check in's with a verifiable credit card on file. Unfortunately, this is something you should take up with your credit card company because they are the ones that provide us with the information as to whether we are allowed to access the funds or not. I am glad that you were able to book a room and that the rest of your experience turned out well for you. For future stays, you can always call the front desk ahead of time to verify if your credit card has accessible funds if you plan to have a late check in. Thanks for your feedback!
