Called The Henry about two weeks prior to booking and asked if I booked a room with them if I'd be allowed to take pictures in the lobby area with my wife on the day of our wedding. They assured me as long as I don't cause a big distraction and bother other guests that there would be no problem. Upon arrival to The Henry on the day of our wedding we checked in and let the gentlemen know that we were going to bring our photographer down and take pictures in the lobby and were reassured that there was no problem as long as we don't cause any commotion. We went and grabbed the photographer and got set up in the lobby and were approached by two people from their staff and were told that we are not allowed to take any pictures and that they don't know why anyone told us otherwise. This was very disappointing and we had to rush and find somewhere else to take some photos before the wedding due to the inconvenience. A day after the wedding I called and asked for a refund because I didn't end up staying at the hotel and didn't get what I wanted with the pictures and was told that they can't issue me a refund which makes no sense. Overall a terrible experience and would expect more from such a highly rated hotel.

very respectful and courteous staff, worth the relatively higher price

I stayed at the hotel for a convention. The room was excellent, the staff was friendly and even the elevator was air conditioned. Excellent free hi-speed wifi - and the business center on the 10th floor was huge! I will definitely stay here again if I am in the Detroit area.

BEAUTIFUL HOTEL, CLEAN AND VERY STYLISH. STAFF IS PROFESSONAL AND AMONGST THE BEST ANYWHERE IN THE WORLD.

I booked this hotel to take my husband away for his birthday. When we checked in we were making plans to go to the lounge for a cocktail before dinner and were informed the lounge is closed on the weekends, What!!! When we asked where we should eat we found out (not from the staff) that it wasn't a great area to be out after dark in and definitely not for a dress up formal style dinner. We ending up getting take out and going to Kroger for some wine. On a positive note we had breakfast in the hotel the next morning and the staff and breakfast was exceptional.

Pool was disappointing- people in street clothes swimming in pool around 6:30 pm The hotel shop is fairly small No literature for surrounding places to visit or eat

Well appointed but not stuffy. Loved all the Art placed throughout the whole hotel.

Was impressed with the way they handled the large number of people involved with this dance organization. BUT be sure to check the bill they slide under the door during the night. Apparently the guy who prepared mine didn't know what he was doing. Pointed it out to the staff the next day and they were very courteous and corrected the error right away. Although restaurant was a little pricey, the food was excellent. Our waitress wasn't particularly stellar as she was busy gabbing with another waitress and ignoring us which was especially problematic since we were under time constraints due to the competition.

5 minutes to Henry Ford Museum and Greenfield Village and 20 minutes to downtown, it is a great location. The inside of the hotel is surprisingly upscale and nice, with local artists work on the walls it feels like an older much fancier hotel inside. Staff was super friendly and helpful and room was beautiful, clean and comfortable.

The staff at both the hotel and Tria restaurant are excellent!

The Henry staff was very helpful and friendly and they went out of their way to make sure we had everything we needed. The breakfast is fantastic, a bit pricey, but absolutely the best.

The hotel is very nice, the room was extremely comfortable and quiet. I loved staying there and wished to stay longer. The staff were very nice and highly professional; They have a very welcoming attitude and are always smiling (this includes the doorman, the receptionist, and the room service staff).

I stayed two nights at this hotel as part of a two week mid-west road trip. I slept in different hotels and was able to get the best sleep in the super comfortable beds. Close to The Henry Ford and Greenfield Village

We used this hotel as our base for a 3 day visit to the Detroit area and it was perfect. Great, friendly staff, nicely decorated and clean rooms, nice restaurant on site and easy highway access to airport and Interstate Highways.

We really enjoyed our stay at the Henry Ford. The staff was kind and accomodating and the room was spotless. We do wish that the beds would have had additional pillows (one decorative and one sleeping pillow on each full size bed) and that the workout facility was larger (completely full on a Sunday morning) but the tastefully designed lobby and rooms were calming and gave a real feeling of a boutique hotel. Drive to Greenfield Village was less than 5 mins and only 15-20 to downtown. We will return.

Hotel is older, but very well maintained. Nice bar/restaurant on location and the workout center was okay (small - but workable). Room was very roomy. Bed was very comfortable. Newer televisions and nice work desk/station. Also, free wireless. Bathroom was very big and very nice. Overall, good experience.

Your average high class hotel. Very nice staff, great food at the restaurant. The room was quite comfortable and clean, but just a standard hotel room. The restaurant prices are a bit on the high side, but that is to be expected at a high end hotel.

Couldn't have asked for a better experience! Everything from the service to the ambience was top notch!

A relaxing hotel that puts customers' comfort first. Great atmosphere with wonderful art.

The staff at The Henry remembered me and were as welcoming and polite as always. I regularly travel to Detroit to visit my father and childhood friends and the Henry provides the home-like atmosphere I look to have when visiting my hometown. This time I just stayed two nights; shopped at Fairlane, ate good food and hung out with friends. I didn't drive more than 140 miles during my stay (I am usually all over the place) and I used the hotel primarily as as sleeping spot. Good times...
