I had a great visit home for my birthday! Karen (Front Office Supervisor) and the staff that I encountered were very welcoming and attentive. I work in the hospitality industry as well so it's always nice to witness the hard work and efforts of my fellow colleagues in the hotel industry. The room was clean and comfortable. Thanks for an enjoyable stay!
I was a bit nervous due to the mix of reviews but was very pleasantly surprised. I booked online through the hotel's website with the AAA discount and reserved a 2 room suite. Check in went smooth and cookies were available which was a nice touch. Everyone was very friendly and offered us a list of local businesses which we took advantage of. We had room 217 in the main building. It was quiet (never heard another person even though the parking lot was full). The room was clean and everything worked, including all lights, heater and all 3 remotes. Beds were very comfortable and even though I bring my own pillow everywhere I even used the pillows. The closet (though I did not use it) had really cool organizers had I been staying longer. I overslept and ended up at breakfast 10 min before it ended and it was still well stocked. This was another surprise as I had read a review that it was not a good breakfast plus at extended stays the choice is usually limited. Not here..they had waffle makers, boiled and fried eggs, turkey and reg sausage, breads, oatmeal & cold cereals, yogurts, fruits and pastries. And the juices were actually not watered down...shocking! Overall, great stay and I would not hesitate to go again. I think too often people forget when they do these reviews to keep in mind the "grade" of hotel or eating establishment you are rating. If you compare a McDonald's against Ruth Chris Steak House you would probably give the McD a 1 star but that does not mean there are not 5 star McDonald's. The same goes for hotels. For its class of hotel's my experience was a 5 star.
Rooms were a nice size, very clean, and very updated. Basically small apartments. We had 4 rooms and everyone was very pleased with them. Beds were super comfortable as well. Would definitely stay again if in the area.
Enjoyed our stay here. We were going to a downtown event and were worried this was too far from town but it wasn't. It was also convenient to the Ford Museum (which was a great addition to our trip). This location had a friendly staff and a great breakfast. Lots of variety. We'd definitely recommend it.
I stayed for one night while in town for a concert. We had a two room suite. It was clean and a good size. The bed was a little to firm for my taste. The complimentary breakfast was a decent spread. The oatmeal was really watering so I went with the waffle. My brother didn't like the eggs but helped himself to more than one sausage.
Although a Marriott property, completely underwhelming in many aspects. Felt very much like a dorm or low-end apartment complex. I had booked a handicapped accessible room, with a shower seat for a crew person with an injury, upon check-in we were told that they were sold out and the handicap room they had for us was geared more towards hearing impaired. Pretty disappointed especially considering the price paid! Room was a little in need of maintenance, trim that was pulled up, dirty walls around the kitchen area and some other cosmetic damage. Not a typical Marriott experience.
Walked in the door and practiclly tripped on a huge device meant to dry carpet from flooding. Why would they book a room with this in it? Well, we got our answer. They are full. When we arrive, people were hanging outside each building smoking. Every door going in had people smoking outside. We arrived at about 10 pm so this was weird. This posed a problem because they did this all night and the walls are super thin. They yelled and shouted until 3 am. I had to turn music on to try and drown out the noise, to no avail. Finally was quiet at 3 am. Until we started getting wake up calls at 5:55 am that we never set. Everyone was yelling in the halls, The cleaning staff came in and were yelling in the halls. I mean, do not come here is you want to get one second of sleep. I called the desk and she was annoyed because I asked her why the wake up calls from the previous renter hadn't been cleared. She responded, "Do you want me to clear them now?" Ummm, yeah. Dumb. BTW, this was not a cheap hotel by any means. I can see this is I was staying at Motel 6 or 8, but this is a Marriott property. Unforgiveable. There's more but just too much to type. Don't stay here unless you smoke, like yelling outside your room on every side all hours of the night. If you want sleep, go elsewhere.
I loved this hotel! The staff were phenomenal, kind, helpful, friendly and accomodating! They had free breakfast every morning, the rooms were clean and my room was actually ready earlier than expected! I felt like I was in a little apartment as opposed to a hotel. It was conveniently located and easily accessible. My only suggestion is to update the elevators because they are a little scary and outdated. Overall great stay and I look forward to returning.
If you have ever stayed in a Townplace in the past this property is par for the course. My only point is if you are not staying long make sure you specify when you want your room cleaned. We were expecting daily service but found this to be very minimum.
We were set to check in at 3:00pm. We arrived at 3:15pm and were told our room would not be ready for another 45 minutes. We had reservations to be somewhere by 5:30; however, we told them it would be fine. An hour and fifteen minutes later I called the hotel to see if our room was ready before leaving the restaurant we were at. The staff indicated that our room was not clean and they were not able to give us a time frame of when it would be complete. The manager on the phone was very rude as if I should be content with not having a room we paid for. We had already paid for and reserved (multiple weeks ahead) a 2 bedroom suite. We arrived at the hotel even after they said our room wasn't ready and the front desk staff would also not work with us on providing us with different rooms that would equal our already paid for space. Eventually, after remaining assertive, we were told there was in fact a 2 bedroom suite available although it was handicap. I appreciated them being able to place us in a very nice, clean and much enjoyed room; however, it was chaos and very unpleasant. The hotel is very nice but the customer service may have wrecked any previous stays at this hotel.
