The resort it’s self was great, but our room was dirty. A lot of dust, dirty pillows, trash under the bed, stuff splattered on the walls, the showers were kind of gross. The washing machine didn’t work and when we ran the dishwasher it smelled really bad. What is the cleaning fee for?

So we walk to find out we didn’t have a stove. Maybe I didn’t read the reservation so it was okay. Then later we discovered the trash can was broken , the sink was clogged up and there was a big punch on the wall. I took pictures just in case I was not to blame. But I have yet not received my deposit. But overall it was a nice beach.

Tons of space, nicely decorated, family friendly! We will be back!

No one at front desk for most of the day. No toilet paper....sorry must bring your own. Where is ice machine?...it’s in the maintenance/service area and requires quarters. Rooms are awkward layout as if a condo was divided into 3 units. Location is convenient to beach with direct access but otherwise a pretty run down facility. Bed had clean linens which was all we used the room for anyway.

Positives: Great location and fantastic water pressure. Negatives: Old and outdated accommodations, no place to store luggage, and no place to get breakfast/coffee in the facility, as restaurant only opens for lunch and dinner. We would not come back and stay here.

Dirty, dirty, dirty!! Like, the $120 charge for a "cleaning fee" was completely dissed!! We checked in on a Monday, very late evening, and had to request cleaning service just to be able to take our shoes off~that bad! The place is wired with extension cords, clearly an older structure that didn't require many outlets. Oh, and make sure to bring your own toilet paper along with your Lysol because otherwise it'll be a "convenient store run" for you... Do not let the balcony pictures fool you, the view is NOTHING past the pool and street crossing. The "complimentary" beach chairs and umbrella are first-come-first-serve, so do wait to long if you want to use that set-up.

Our room smelled. Cleanliness wasn't all that great. But it didn't stop us from enjoying our vacation. We had a nice beach view. I'm still not sure if it was worth it. The room was super super tiny. Same with the bathroom. There was a short narrow hallway into the bedroom. There was a small fridge and sink in the hallway. Be warned. There is a $160 cleaning fee when you leave. What really got me is a heading they wrote in their guest packet that said "Throw away your trash and put the dishes in the sink and fill it up with water." Please tell me what the $160 cleaning fee is for? Overall, I give this place a 2 star. Maybe 1 but since I had a good time in Destin, I'll be nice. Forgot to add, do not expect to BBQ there. The grilling area was a little lame. We were the only people there. They had what looks like a small pond but it was empty and a sight for sore eyes. This is just a hotel to stay with a nice view. Don't expect anything else. Also the booking process was a pain in the butt. They canceled my reservation twice. Had to go through a headache and finally got the room with a 3rd try.

Because of Tropical Storm Lee we had to spend more time than usual in our Condo but it was great we had free movie rental and enough room that we weren't cramped. Plan to return next year. The only down side was after arriving at Surfside I had to pay an additional $142.00 for cleaning and other fees and I wasn't expecting it. Otherwise we had a great time.

The Surfside Beach Resort is a nice hotel with a friendly staff. At check-in time I was surprised to find that I had to pay a $72 "cleaning" fee on top of the $152 I had already paid in advance for the room. Really? I'm staying one night. I'm not a teenage spring-breaker. Unfortunately, there would be no refund on a cancellation so I went ahead and paid the fee but thought I would pass along a warning to others. I expected to pay a higher rate due to the timing of my stay, but this hotel was definitely not worth $225 a night.

i just wanted to say its the worst time ever that i made a reservation through this website, as when i got there, they told me that i dont have a reservation in a first place, and then they made me pay 70$ check-in fee, and the room wasn't remotely close to what it is in the picture or as i ordered, so i won't make a reservation ever again through this website and to that place specifically..

Very clean, very pretty. Would be difficult to cook much in the kitchen so plan on eating out. Front desk help was outstanding.

stay on the beach

Surfside itself was the most amazing condo ive ever stayed in. [...]

I loved the room and the view. The staff was extremely friendly. Outlets and Destin Commons and restaurants were convenient. Stairs to beach were almost impossible with a handicap but a convenient drive to a public beach with a ramp. I will stay here again.

We do very little traveling. Compared to hotels we have been to, the rooms were very nice - much more space to move around. The kitchen was very well equipped, but our use of it was minimal. It took a bit of getting used to providing your own toilet paper and washing the towels, but it was nice having the washer and dryer. The beach chairs and umbrella were a real plus.

We had never stayed in a condo other than a Branson time share before. We booked last minute, and I was pleasantly surprised to get a room with a view. This condo is designed, however where most rooms do have an ocean view. There is a walkway over to the beach, but a lot of steps to get down....and back up. They did offer complimentary beach chairs. It was very quiet. We did have to pay a $140+ in fees that were not listed on the website. The clerk was new to the area and could not give us directions when we arrived. The rooms were very spacious, although decor was a bit dated. All in all a very pleasant experience. We would definitely recommend it.

Dianna, Thank you for your outstanding comments about Jordan and our staff. We will make sure she received recognition. Regarding the beach service, this is a guaranteed amenity that Counts-Oakes pays for with the beach service for all our guests. Were you denied service? Please touch base with us so we can resolve this. Surfside Resort is a condo, and not a hotel. We provide the initial set up of everything in the condo, and the guests are responsible for anything additional. Please let me know if you have any additional questions or concerns. Thank you!
