The building is really old and they should update it. There is no power outlet in the bedroom, only in the bathroom and across from the bathroom. How come there is a bedside lamp with no power??? Seriously, there is a lamp next to the bed but you can't turn on because there is no plug for the eletricity. Where are we suppose to charge our phones for example? About the wifi, the wifi was on, but probably the modem was off because there was no internet at all. You can here everything that happens in the room upstairs, not only steps, but the whole conversation. Some staff members complaining about the job and the hotel in front of guests! The positive was the shower and the location.

I was suspicious. It had this 2.9 rating. But, traveling alone I can put up with a lot and the price, albeit post-hurricane Maria, was very low for a beachfront hotel, even for off season as is October. What a delightful surprise! Staff is very gracious, Kolleen and Liz will respond to your requests. Be prepared for a 59-year old property which has been remodeled but the bathrooms are mostly still dated. If you can't see the charm in clean rooms and baths which have some vintage (beds and furnishings are new) then you're better off spending a lot more money and going somewhere else. The facade is deemed historic and cannot be altered, and the extensive coral blocks used in construction are clearly running against present-day environmental sentiment. But it's a throwback to the time that this hotel ruled the beach, and when it comes to value and quality, it still does.

For a low budget old hotel it's awesome!!! Lots of pluses: Beach, Restaurant, pool, old Florida style

Staff and help was very accommodating at check-in and at parking.

Right across the beach, nice and quiet. Only thing need improvement is the restaurant, 25 minutes waiting just to order anythingand them wait more time to get your order, is total unacceptable.

Wifi didn't work, restaurant was expensive, power outlets were difficult to reach, and the staff didn't care.

The hotel has free towels and chairs for the beach not as elegant as other hotels but they have them. It is a hotel to just go to sleep, shower and get out .... not a hotel to spend the day and all your vacations in. They allow 4 people per room, so the price in relation to the above is fine.

only benefit is location. all else wasnt good. no parking no internet not clean

Great location and nice staff in the deck rest. Use the trolley to get around $2.00 all day!

Common areas and bathroom were very run-down. Bed was clean and comfortable. Friendly staff.

The staff at this hotel were wonderful, and the location was great! However, the room smelled heavily of chemical cleaners, it confusing to get to, and the bathroom needed a serious update.

Great place for the Fort Lauderdale air show, next to the beach, and the Deck restaurant on premises.

Hotel is right across the street from the ocean. Free parking is also a plus. Most hotels charge at least $25 for valet parking. It has a nice pool and the hotel resturant/bar has a good deck looking at the beach. The restrooms are a little outdated but works well. Overall for the price you can't beat it.

This place seems more like a motel than a resort. The rooms were clean, but my friend's face ended up breaking out, which may have a lot to do with the sheets and pillows. The bathroom was very small and there was an odor in the hallway. The price did not equate to the quality of room I had. I will definitely not be back.

Needs some updates, however staff were great n location was perfect n price was awesome

Don't be misguided by the fact that they call themselves a resort. This is truly a Mo-Mo meaning a Motel. My room was smelly, the carpets were stained, the bathrooms were old and dirty. I was traveling with 2 small children and my husband from Orlando to FT. Lauderdale and was in need for a room for only one night. We weren't looking for anything fancy. I got my family out of there asap. Don't stay there

Was there for spring break. Staff was great, especially Anthony, he was very accommodating. Perfect beach across the street. Beds were so comfortable. For the price it was more then I expected and completely enjoyed our stay. Planning on booking again next year

Good time. Across from beach and close to restaurants

Checked into hotel at 11:00 am and staff was very accommodating. Room was what to be expected. It's an ocean hotel and for the price was perfect. Everything worked properly. Staff was friendly and restaraunt and bar was fully staffed. Location was directly across from beach and chairs and towels were provided. I will return next year and extend our stay.

Although our expectation bar wasn't set exceptionally high... we were still disappointed at the condition of the property. Bathroom sink leaked all over the floor daily, toilet didn't flush properly- maintenance came to fix but then 'the flush' wouldn't stop. Tub didn't drain... bathroom mirror hung crooked, worn/ dirty tile and VERY DARK ROOMS! 0nly 2 dim lamps & a couple ceiling lights. I can't say 'dark' enough. (And this was after we requested to change rooms because our first room was even worse!!). However I have to say that our request to change rooms and most of our other calls to the front desk were handled immediately. The front desk staff was amazing and pleasant and accomodating) it wasn't their fault that things were so run down!! Maintenance & maid service seemed short handed & over worked... and disorganized! Another plus though ...was very comfy beds with crisp clean sheets and nice thick fluffy towels! Such a contrast to the general room condition- but without which we would have moved out... the doors to the rooms made me extremely nervous... to describe them as not seeming secure is an understatement! No peep hole, no chain inside and just seemed to be barely hanging on! And the key cards kept de-activating! but great location and outdoor bar/dining area. Would not go back!
