Overall I had a good experience. The room was clean and comfortable. The only problem was that the window was broken. Not a 5 star hotel, but pretty decent for a small hotel that is ocean front. When I went they provided free parking, beach chairs, beach towels and umbrellas.
Our room was only a few steps from the sand. Everything that we needed was within walking distance from our hotel.we love the ambiance of Hollywood FL.
Very friendly hotel staff. Parking included is a nice touch.
Small place, clean, right next to Margaritaville. Easy beach access great location.
Super friendly staff, clean beautiful room, breath taking view, free beach towels and chairs and umbrella, free parking until 11:30am on date of checkout. Want to live there!
We chose the Sheldon to be close to the beach and amenities. We were very pleased with our stay. Beach chairs and umbrellas are provided at the front desk which is steps from the beach. Coffee and water were available at all times. It is right next door to Margaritaville and the bandshell so there's a lot going on, but just far enough away to be quiet in the room. Much more affordable than other facilities. No pool at this facility so if you value that (we didn't), think of staying elsewhere. we walked to the Taco Bar for dinner and then breakfast is available almost everywhere on the Broadwalk.
For the price I would differently recommend staying some were else unless you get a great deal. I moved next door to the bigger hotel due to the fact that the both cost the same
Close to the beach, staff is nice, parking is free
We loved that the hotel was right on the boardwalk with everything in walking distance, restaurants, shopping, beach. Rooms were so small and air conditioner was noisy but all in all it was ok for a short stay. There's no pool but the boardwalk and beach made up for that.i
Great location, rooms were clean, walls were paper thin and very friendly staff
I really enjoyed my stay at Hotel Sheldon. The location on Hollywood beach is stunning. The lobby could use some work however, I think they are onto something with the gentle blue decorations that sets you relaxed. However, theres like parts of the could-be-amazing-lobby that need to be repainted and theres this weird stand by the front desk with a ton of wires just hanging out of it that they could easily just cover up or put somewhere else. It was pretty tricky to find at first because you have to drive down small streets through all the construction going on on the street. The hotel hallways I guess are being redone too(?) I never heard or saw them working on anything but they had cardboard on the hall way stairs. The hall ways are small but the second floor has really nice views as you walk down it. The rooms were small and cute. At first, I was given a 2 bed room for my hunny and I, but the people at the front desk helped fix that and upgraded us to an ocean view king room. That room's view really puts you into vacation mode. The walls are pretty thin though, as I could hear the people as they walked out in the hall and there was a gentle level of music playing outside all the time but it didnt really bother us. The workers were very friendly, accommodating and helpful and available 24 hours. The only slight improvement I would suggest is maybe a more uniform look. They looked tired and bored as we first arrived feeling excited- kind of makes you feel a little "meh" when you see saggy jeans and someone just trying to get through their shift, which I understand how it is but, the customer shouldn't feel it too. The hotel is also near everything. There is so much to eat and do nearby (Haggan Das, Oompa, and a ton more) and there is free parking. It was perfect for us overall and I would stay there again.
The staff was very helpful and courteous. The location was excellent right on the beach, but the hotel itself was quite antiquated they didn't even have an ice machine, which I thought was strange. It's definitely a much older hotel. Probably back in the day it was considered a very nice, upscale hotel, but with all the modern resorts in the area, it will probably never be considered much more than a two or three star hotel, but I did, for the most part, enjoy my stay and would recommend it just bring your own bag of ice.
This hotel is average. I loved the oceanfront room. At night it's a little scary as there's an alley way leading to the hotel and it's very dark. The room is very good for the money and I would probably go back when all the construction in the area is finished.
The staff was nice the location is great as soon as you walk down and out the doors you are on the sand. Lots of good restaurants in walking distance. The only thing was room service wasn't the good we had to keep asking to get the room service and on the last night there they didn't even come
It was a perfect location. The beach, restaurants, and novelty shops were right on the boardwalk. I will recommend this location to family and friends.
This place is supposed to be remodeled. The only things new were the mattress, lamps, frig and small tv. Everything else was old and dated. The room had an awful smell to it and we were given an air freshener to fix it as they had no other rooms available. The location is great, but the rooms aren't. I should have listened to the other poor reviews.
The same price for the same category of rooms but there is different furniture in them, they advertise a nicely furnished cleaner room and they give you the older version.
Had a great time. room clean & was updated with all new bathroom & bed since my last stay. right on beach. I asked person at desk for a couple of thing while i was there & they got the items to me right then & there, great experience.
Very personable staff. Old time feeling, laid back atmosphere, just what you would be looking for on a beach get away vacation. Third stay at the Hotel Sheldon. Would definitely return next year.
