I would like to thank Melissa From Residence Inn at Miramar for being so accommodating to our Humana Group. You have made our work stay so easy helping us with printing, emails and so many things to make our stay and work day easier. You have gone over and above to accommodate our group and always with a smile in your face. Residence Inn is lucky to have such an exemplary employee, thank you again for all you did for us. Service is great. Staff is always friendly and responsive. We came with a baby, our room was supposed one of the hotel’s only two 2-bedroom units. Previous guest ruined the room - not the hotel’s fault. They went out of their way to accommodate us - they gave us 2 1-bedroom units, at a discounted rate. Also, they left for us a gift bag, with champagne, baby toys, nail kit etc. This is a cheap option for staying with family near Miami. Rooms are comfortable, clean, well taken care of - not luxurious. Rooms have stove, fridge, microwave and dishes. There are supermarkets, pharmacies and department stores nearby. Miami is a 30-min drive. Gym is too small, not enough weights and old machines. No restaurant on premises. Breakfast is good, covers the basics - eggs, coffee, waffles, fruit, yogurt. We would come again.
We want to tgank Melissa for her professional service... we wanted to find out room rates and hotel amenities such as hotel activities... both Melissa at the front desk and Lorena from housekeeping were very friendly and professional. Thank you for all your assistance. We will definitely suggest this hotel to our friends and family.
I moved to Florida after the Hurricane Maria in Puerto Rico and I stayed here for about 3 month. This hotel has made it feel like home and Selena, Arlene and Mayte was amazing!!! The front desk staff are fantastic too!! Excellent
This past week I stayed at Residence Inn Fort Lauderdale SW/Miramar as my nephew was graduating at FIU. He had actually given me the idea to stay here and I only had 4 days to be down there. I couldn’t get a good night’s rate at first and actually almost booked the courtyard hotel down the street. Eventually I came back to this location because it was located in a good spot and I could put my family in a room with some space. Also the deal on Priceline and other sites wasn’t any cheaper than going to the Marriot site which I am a rewards member of. The hotel sits on 14700 SW 29th St, Miramar, FL 33027-4173 so it’s off 145th street. Mind you Florida has a lot of gated communities and everything from shopping malls to drugstores are off to the side behind trees. I hadn’t been to Florida in years so I forgot about that aspect. It’s actually a pain and there are a lot of logistical problems the way the streets are laid out and some of the rudest drivers around. That said we found it with no problem. I always carry a stand-alone GPS around to make it easier to get around. I parked in back. We checked in with Travis and he was great. There was a drunk patron complaining about something when I walked in but Travis handled it well. I am not sure what the issue was that he was being removed from the hotel? The patron tried to start in on me and I shut him down. At any rate they offered an upper floor to us which I thought was nice. We took Room 423 which is in the back of the hotel near the side parking lot. Where we were it was a little walk to the elevators. Mind you this is two buildings. The amenities are in one building and there is a second building where the rooms are. It’s a matter of going out one door and coming into another building. I noticed there is probably a lot of traffic in the hotel because it has a lot of kids. The carpet looked a little worn but didn't look dated like some other recent stays I have had. Kid generated noise is usually more than I like but it wasn’t an issue. Our room was a suite with a bed and a pull out couch. The pull out couch was uncomfortable, I know because my teenage daughter insisted on sleeping in the bed and me on the pull out. I didn’t expect much because a pull out sofa is what it is. It was a comfortable couch though. These types of suites are equipped with pots and pans, silverware and a small stove. There is also a full size fridge and microwave. If you wanted to cook in there you could but we were so busy we went out and brought leftovers back. Having that size fridge was great while we were there. Most of the Marriot facilities are the same when it comes to the typed of beds, toiletries, towels and other amenities. One thing that stuck out was the quality of the room service, excellent I have to say. We tried to keep the place picked up as it was but when we would get back at night the place looked excellent so kudos to the housekeeping staff. The bathroom is a separate room that can be locked while someone can use the sink at the same time outside of the shower room, both were clean. There was a closet with hangers, a portable ironing board and a standard hotel issue iron. The continental breakfast is the standard fare. It’s located in the main building with the gym. I didn’t use the pool, we didn’t have time and I can’t honestly comment on it. I know what I am getting into anytime I book anything so there was no real surprises except a fire alarm went off on Sunday morning. I thought it might be a testing issue but turns out someone was cooking and it tripped the alarm. It scared my girlfriend who was in the shower. There was a lot of commotion in the holidays and I heard people panicking. It stopped after a minute. I have to say the management addressed it immediately with a letter placed under everyone’s door apologizing for the situation. That was a nice touch. I checked out and has a great conversation with the assistant general manager named Anshela. She was telling my how the staff tried hard and that she sent the letter out about the fire alarm situation. I suspect there is competition for dollars in this area so every detail has to be covered or addressed. I really think they did a good job.
I had to come into town for a business trip. Melissa at front desk was above and beyond accommodating and was invaluable to making my stay as comfortable as possible. Her attitude and excellent customer service have turned me into a loyal customer. Would definitely recommend this location for anyone who needs to spend time in the Ft Lauderdale area. Thank you Melissa !! Sara
We had moved to Florida after the Hurricane Maria in Puerto Rico and we stayed here for a while. This hotel has made it feel like home. We enjoyed the gym, pool, the basketball court, the breakfasts and the snacks at night. Everyone is so nice here and have great customer service. The front desk staff is fantastic and I couldn't asked for a better hotel to stay in. Specially Arlene, we want to thanks her for such wonderful service to us and her attention. It could not be better.
Fantastic Front Desk Staff. Top Notch Customer Service. Anyone needing a place to stay in the Miramar area should definitely check out this hotel. I was overwhelmed with the kindness of the Front Desk Staff. Specifically, Arline, she was like an angel sent to me, she calmed me down. And boy, did I need it! While traveling to Miami, I called just to let my hotel know I would be late but would be there. They informed me the hotel could not honor any reservation due to water damage that happened that day. This was right after the hurricane IRMA. I was in a panic to say the least. I was coming in from out of town and had no where else to go. No one had vacancies. I needed a place to stay for 4 weeks. This was not a vacation. The Residence Inn Front Desk Staff specifically Arline, Joezet and Selena are top notch. Yes, I called daily. They were great, I got in on the third day. The Staff Manager Travis is really doing something right because this is an awesome group of folks. They really care and do take the extra step in customer service. Thank you!
I evacuated to this Residence Inn for Hurricane Irma and lived here for 9 days with my dog. I cannot say enough good about this hotel and the staff. All of the other guests were evacuees as well. Most chose this hotel because of allowing any size dog ($100 fee). During the most stressful time, the hotel staff remained professional and did their best to accommodate guests. On the day the hurricane was to hit, they were not going to offer breakfast, so they had an afternoon “breakfast” the day before. This was good and thoughtful planning. The staff lived at the hotel during the hurricane, to address any problems. Power was out for about 8 hours (no generator) and Direct-TV was out about 2 days. There was no parking lot flooding. There were quite a few tree limbs down. The location was great with a dog as there are lots of grassy areas. It is along a canal with miles of grass. My girl was freaked the first few days as she was not accustomed to hearing doors slam or close and other dogs. Then she calmed down and loved staying at the hotel. She also loved the endless grassy areas. I had a 2nd floor studio room. Had I known I would be there for 9 nights, I probably would have gotten a 1 bedroom, in spite of it being only myself and my dog. The only downside was the noise from the hallway, which could be heard through the door. If I have to evacuate from the Florida Keys again for a hurricane, this will be my go-to extended stay hotel.
Very clean hotel! Very nicely done in the rooms and a great floor plan in the room. The bed was a little firm and the pull out sleeper sofa was very uncomfortable for my daughters taste. All in all was a great stay and they have continental breakfast.
