The hotel was average (at best). It was the worst night's sleep that I have had in a very long time. The mattresses are not the nice pillow-top type like most hotels have these days. The floors are not very forgiving when it comes to noise. I was on the second floor and could hear the person above us walking in there room, they were stomping or a heavy walker, but we could still hear them. Beside that it was quiet, no noise from the rooms beside us (I don't know if they were occupied) and no noise from outside. The young man at the front desk was friendly and professional while checking in. The room was clean, and looked as though it recently had undergone renovations. The Wi-Fi worked good for the little that I used it on my tablet. The breakfast was typical "hotel breakfast" although we did not eat there, however I did try the coffee, and it was a bit weak. We stayed here one night, we were visiting a local college. If I am in the area again, I probably would not stay at this property again.
I was in town for a two day lacrosse tournament. The area was swamped with tournament kids that weekend. We had trouble getting a room and this was our last option that was within 30 minutes of our fields. The room was clean. The beds are probably due for a rotation or replacement, but they were not totally broken down. I could still sleep comfortably on it. The AC kept the room at a comfortable temp. The breakfast was a little sparse and the cafe' room a little small when they are crowded. However, the front desk was great. They helped with directions, restaurant suggestions, and had a cot for our son waiting. They did a pretty good job taking care of us.
We've stayed in Microtels before, and like the brand. This one was not up to snuff. The room was small, with no amenities whatsoever: no microwave, mini-fridge, not even a coffee maker. The lobby was also pretty sparse on amenities. One quirky thing is that the phone in the room had a bright flashing red light, presumably to show there was a message. I called the desk and asked how to turn it off. They told me that it can't be turned off; the phone system required a part to turn it off that isn't made anymore. Put something over it was their suggestion. The room was clean, breakfast average, and the bed reasonably comfortable, but overall, it wasn't a great experience. I'll stay somewhere else when I return.
I was told that my room had a queen sized bed...It was more the size of a full size bed. Bed was comfortable. Was told this was a queen size bed...I have a queen size bed at home. This was a full size bed..... There was a small plastic bag and some lint on the floor under the desk.. room was very small guess this is why it is called a "Microtel".....
The sales manager Shirley was fantastic. She took care of me when I did not have a whole lot of money and treated me like a valued guest. The room is clean and comfortable and a free breakfast in the morning to start the day. I will stay here again when I am back in town.
The Microtel in West Chester was in a convenient location for our stay in the area. It was clean and quiet and perfect for what we were needing at the time.
excellent hotel for the price. room was well-appointed. front desk staff were all very helpful. will stay there again
Tiny rooms. Building has odor problems. Ground floor markedly cooler than upper levels during hot, humid weather. The front desk sports a filthy rug in front of it. No frills lodging that could be cheaper.
Needed a hotel for a couple of days while in town for son's lacrosse tournament. Searched for hotels in area and based on pictures and it had breakfast as we had to get up early to depart this seemed like it would work. Upon arrival I realized this was not what I had anticipated. Everything looks very old, sloppy and not maintained. The front desk staff member when we checked in was new and a bit overwhelmed. Once in our room, it was the little things that became big things. They show something over the boxspring - there was nothing. The phone was disgusting as I used it to try and call housekeeping & the front desk because our bathroom light only worked periodically. No one ever answered. We just dealt with it. The breakfast was mediocre, went to chic fil a for better coffee & creamer and something warm besides waffles. The staff is not professionally dressed, at checkout the staff member had his pants hanging down and I could see his underwear in the back. This was my first Microtel experience and will probably be my last. I have tried to branch out and use new hotels (I have a favorite) but this is leading me back to my trusted favorite chain. Maybe I am used a higher standard.
The person at the desk when we arrived was not very welcoming or friendly. The ice bucket in our room had been used as an ashtray by a previous guest and was disgusting. When I took it to the front desk for a replacement the person at the desk did not seem very eager to help and I felt like I was annoying him by making him find me a clean ice bucket. Other than the ice bucket our room was clean but smelled strongly of peanuts. The peanut smell never went away. Our room was on the 1st floor and the ice machine was on the second floor. When I went to the second floor, the entire 2nd floor smelled strongly of Indian food so I was glad to be on the first floor. The only hot food option available for breakfast was a waffle station and a toaster. I didn't want waffles so settled for oatmeal. Would have rather had an egg option. If I travel to the area again I will not stay there and I will not recommend this hotel to any family or friends who travel to the area.
