Courtyard by Marriott Philadelphia Great Valley/Malvern3.0 out of 5.0

Each year right before Christmas it's become a tradition that my son and I stay a night at a local hotel for some dad-son time, swim a bit in the pool, get some dinner, etc. This year we chose the Courtyard by Marriott in Great Valley. Based on the reviews it seemed like it would be a good choice. We were wrong. The issues we ran into included: - I had requested a high floor away from the elevator as part of my reservation. They completely ignored that and gave me a room on one of the lowest floors and right next to the elevator. Keep in mind that there were only about 10 rooms reserved in the entire hotel that night since it's a very light travel night so there was no reason we needed to be placed where we were - The reason I ask for high floors is because you never know who you'll end up having above you. As fate would have it we ended up being right below another family who had their kid(s) running back and forth across the room for 30 minutes while my son and I were trying to go to sleep - The room I booked included breakfast for both of us the next morning. I was told nothing about how to redeem that at check-in and had to go ask the front desk about it in the morning - The indoor pool area was dirty. There were muddy footprints throughout as though the floor clearly had not been cleaned for some time. The pool itself was so cold my son swam for about 15 minutes and had to get out. It was the first time we weren't able to fully enjoy the pool at any of the hotels we've stayed at in the area - In the room the HVAC was almost deafening each time it turned on and woke us up multiple times during the night - Also in the room the TV picture was so grainy it was impossible to watch After our stay I received and completed an internal survey from Marriott about our stay. I let them know the issues we ran into because I wanted them to know that, as a Marriott Rewards Elite member and someone who has stayed at countless Courtyards over the years, that this hotel did not live up to the Courtyard standard. When I received a personalized email reply from someone claiming to be the Assistant General Manager I was heartened by what she wrote. She said they'd use my review as a teaching opportunity. She also offered some compensation for my experience. Note that this offer was something she did completely on her own. I did not request any compensation during my stay or as part of my review. I wrote her back thanking her for her note and her offer. Now, weeks later, the compensation offered is still not in my account and I don't expect it at this point. I attempted to contact the assistant manager again to see if there was an issue with the compensation and received no reply. This hotel took a poor experience and made it even worse. I cannot recommend anyone stay at this hotel. There are much more service-oriented hotels in the area, including other Courtyard by Marriott hotels, in which to stay.
Our stay was absolutely fantastic! Conveniently located near everything!!! It was close to Food, shops and the highway! The hotel was so peaceful and extremely quiet. The staff members were all friendly and we will definitely book another stay at this Courtyard Marriott.
Our recent stay at Marriott Courtyard Great Valley/Malvern was wonderful. We stayed there for three nights while visiting several sights in the area, including Longwood Gardens and Valley Forge. The location is so convenient to many attractions nearby. The rooms were super clean, comfortable and very quiet as well. The front desk staff was attentive and helpful. We ate breakfast at the Bistro each morning, and we were pleased with the selections and the service. This is a very nice Courtyard, and we will definitely stay there again on our next visit.
I am a tour operator and had a small group stay from 12/7-8, 2017. The staff was very accommodating and friendly, treated us like a million bucks. I would recommend this hotel whenever your going to QVC Studios. I will be using the hotel many times in the future!
My associate and I came for business meeting. Very good experience front desk young lady Kayla was so nice helped us out with food in the area and shopping because I wanted to try king of Prussia mall. I would rate the hotel a 10
I came in and had a wonderful experience. The young lady at the front desk, Kayla was amazing. She was very nice, checked me in so fast, and even helped me to my room! I would definitely return as long as she’s there!
I thoroughly enjoyed my stay here! It is a very serene, peaceful atmosphere. The rooms are very clean and comfortable. It’s a wonderful place to relax and regroup away from the busy life. The decor and amenities are up to date. They even have makeup wipes in the bathroom! That was my first time seeing that! The staff, Jerek in particular, are very patient, helpful, and accommodating. I’ll definitely be back in the near future.
My wife and I had the opportunity to stay at the Courtyard Marriott, this past Friday and Saturday and it was an AMAZING experience. From the time we stepped in until our departure, Jarek and the rest of his staff treated us like royalty. They room was extremely clean and we felt at home. We can’t wait to come back and stay again. Next time, we plan on bringing a group of friends to enjoy that AMAZING pool and top notch customer service. Keep up the great work! -James Burrows, Jr.
Very relaxing environment and the staff more, specifically Jerek were GREAT! I reached out at the last min to book a room and Jerek was very patient and was able to get me a room for a very affordable rate. The rooms and surrounding areas such lobby, etc were stylish, clean and overall lovely. If you will be visiting the area or just looking for a "staycation" like myself, I highly recommend this location...you won't be disappointed.
As others have already written, we stayed the weekend of Nov.24th - 26th for an ice hockey tournament. The way the staff, specifically Jerek, Jasmine, and Shannon, interacted with the kids and the parents was phenomenal. They were very genuine and supportive of the team accommodating every need and went above and beyond our expectations. When they came running into the ice hockey rink with their sign showing their support, we were all floored!!! We'll definitely be back!! Thank you all!!!!
