Kimpton Hotel Monaco Denver

very nice hotel - old but renovated with flair - more 'boutique' and very warm, comfortable and friendly. In the midst of downtown made it perfect for my one-day business trip. Easy commute from hotel to Denver airport using the 'light rail', just six block walk from the Monaco and only a $9 fare to get to the airport - smooth and comfortable in a train. At check-in, front desk offered me a 'pet goldfish' for the length of my stay which I thought was brilliant! Nice happy hour and free 5 minute massage in lobby made me feel very welcome. I would not hesitate to return.

I thought the hotel was OK but the room smelt like marijuana when I checked in and the AC did not cool down the room much, but since I didn't spend much time in my room, it wasn't worth it to complain

Not the bathtub I had asked for but I didn't have time to go talk to the staff I was short on time. While taking a shower the water got really hot then really cold, and every time I washed my hands the water was freezing cold it never warmed up. Staff were really nice and welcoming do.

The 3pm guaranteed check-in time is not really true. We waited in the lobby for 2 hours for our room when everyone else that walked in the door were getting keys immediately. We were stuck in a small room with a view of the back parking garage. Our sink dripped the entire time and the walls with the connecting doors to another room are like paper. We could hear everything (EVERYTHING) going on in the room next to us. The maid service did not come until 4pm each day which was not conducive to our daily schedule so we didn't end up getting our room cleaned at all. There are no coffee makers in the rooms which is annoying. The restaurant, Panzano was the biggest disappointment. As a gluten free eater I was excited for this restaurant only to find out the gluten free chef had left 3 weeks ago and a new chef was brought in who changed 85% of the menu. We arrived for brunch and ended up only drinking coffee and leaving after seeing the menu. There were only a few gluten free items and they were not appetizing. Even the regular menu was not appealing. The staff was annoyed but didn't need to make it so obvious. Later that day I discovered a lot of other bad reviews for the restaurant in the previous few days with similar complaints. The hotel claims to be smoke free but our floor had an obvious marijuana smell coming from multiple rooms. Never staying here again - definitely not for over $200 a night.

The room was very nice, pleasant and quiet. The view left a lot to be desired - overlooking shipping containers and some kind of scrap metal yard. The check in process was frustrating. Got there at 2:30 after a long morning of travel - was told check-in wasn't until 3pm but they'd call me when the room was ready. I still hadn't gotten a call by 4pm so came back, was then checked in. Why didn't they call? Secondly, I wanted to decide on whether to valet my car after check-in so left it out front this whole time. (It was $42/night, way steeper than any other place in the nearby area). So when I went to finally move my car the valet attendant was rude to me. Snappily said "oh you finally came back," to which I replied that the front desk was an hour late in checking me in and I had walked by earlier and no one was out there to help me. Overall it just seemed like very poor service for the price. The room was very clean and comfortable, however. So I see a lot of potential. The service just isn't there to justify the cost.

Our flight to Denver was re-routed through Albuquerque so we arrived three hours late (10:00 PM) and did not want to drive to Breckenridge that late in the evening. We contacted the Monaco to see if they had a room. They had a room, and when we arrived they upgraded us to a suite. The room was fantastic, and the staff couldn't have been nicer.

Great downtown location. Our room was perfect and spacious, not lacking in anything. I wish we had more time to spend here as they offer bike rentals and wine happy hours. If I ever come back to Denver, I will definitely be staying here again!

The hotel was great my friend and I had a awsome New Years weekend. The staff was very friendly and helpful. I love Downtown Denver. The room was beautiful and clean.

Nice friendly staff, clean room and great happy hour special

My wife and I (mid-30's) loved this place! It's certainly less expensive than neighboring hotels but has incredible amenities. We especially loved the free happy hour from 5-6 every night that drew in 20-40 people, depending on the night. The staff were very friendly and made every effort to make us feel comfortable. The quirky features were also great: the elevator music was 80's pop, there is a life-size cow statue outside the elevator, and the general vibe was just fun. To top it off, the Monaco is pretty and well cared for (no peeling paint and wallpaper or bad carpeting), the rooms are comfortable and not too small (not too big either), and you're a block away from the 16th Street Mall, where tons of people walk from shop to shop and restaurant to restaurant, but where somehow nothing ever seems to be crowded. Our Denver experience was made better by the Monaco. Two thumbs up! ...probably better for a couple or a single than for a family, but your family would be comfortable and in a clean, centralized hotel.

Stayed in this hotel couple times for one night before catching flights from Denver airport. Convenient location in the central location in Denver. Room was fairly priced and room was cleaned. Hotel offers a restaurant and bikes downstairs. Great pick for families couples and business trips.

We loved this hotel. The staff, location, and mood of the place fit us perfectly. The bed and how the staff "made" the bed were not to our liking but these were the only aspects of our stay that we did not think were above the bar.

Everythign about this stay was perfect. Kimpton continues to be the best spot to stay!

What a nice place to stay! We were upgraded when we checked in, the room was spotless, and the staff was very friendly! It was close to all kinds of public transportation so it was easy for my wife to explore Denver while I was working. What impressed her most was seeing the bellman give a couple of rides on the "big" dolly to kids who were bored waiting in the lobby. Hands down the friendliest hotel we've ever stayed at!

Room was nice and clean, but not as nice as the Baltimore Monaco. Location was great and staff was helpful. I would stay here again. Coffee in the lobby each morning tasted great!!

Great staff and beautiful room. Located in the middle of everything

Last minute booking for conference in Denver. The customer service was excellent from the time I parked my car until after I checked out and received assistance loading my luggage. Room was clean and ascetically pleasing! My only disappointment was not having a blow dryer or coffee machine in my room and the water doesn't get hot so I couldn't take a hot bath.

My friend and I took a girls trip to CO and stayed 2 nights in Denver at this hotel. Location was Perfect!! We walked to so many different restaurants, bars, and coffee shops. I love this area! As for the hotel, it was clean, modern, and staff was great and very friendly...the best part was the free wine at happy hour in the lobby. My only complaint? The shower!....barely ANY water pressure and it wasnt a tub, so the water leaked all over the floor in huge puddles no matter how we angled the shower head! Besides a shower curtain it was wide open to the rest of the bathroom..kinda weird. All in all, would defnitely recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a good time in downtown Denver.

Overall a very pleasant stay. The valet / door men were very professional and helpful.

Wonderful. Comfy and extra nice! Staff was great. Loved the yoga mat and the leopard robes!
