The property itself and the staff they have are all quite wonderful. The property has been extensively remodeled from top to bottom at some point in the not so distant past.
The amenities are also all quite nice: ample storage in the rooms, a kitchenette, a very nice rooftop bar, a nice fitness center, etc.
The annoyances, however, are also many, and while minor, really shouldn’t be present at a hotel of this quality otherwise.
1. There is no housekeeping (despite a QR code requesting tips for housekeeping)
2. The bathroom is nice, but the door doesn’t shut all the way (not that it would be very private if it did)
3. The street level noise can be a bit much (we were on floor 2, but there are only 4 floors of rooms and we were told you can hear the rooftop bar on floor 5)
4. The bed platforms are interesting but awkward at best
5. Very small mechanical issues: the lightswitches have a little blue indicator light that never stopped flashing; the phone didn’t work; the handle for the water in the shower is loose
Overall, it may sound like I’m skewering this place, and I’m not. For the right price, I’d stay here again. I’m just generally confused how someplace that is so close to so good trips up so many times.
