The rooms were immaculate, the staff was so friendly, and the pool was incredibly warm, which the kids appreciated... The location is super convenient, and I felt very safe staying here with my family. We WILL be staying here again!
My husband stayed here on 1/28/2018 his check in went smoothly. However his check not so much. He used our bank debit card to pay for his room. He checked out at 3am on 1/29/2018. His receipt states $81.40, however they actually charged our card $578.23. We have spoke with the on-site manager she said she caught the mistake as soon as she came in, and began the refund process. It will take 7-10 business days for their mistake to be corrected! Unfortunately we have had to financially suffer for their mistake. I contacted Choice hotels in regards to this huge mistake to find absolutely no help as I am a diamond member with Choice hotels, to which they now have lost my business completely. The hotel offers an apology, but how does that help when they depleted your checking out!!
Clean, friendly, and great place to stay. Bed was so, so comfy. Small town but everyone was helpful. Consider this one for a weary traveler. Went to restaurant suggested and it had wonderful Mexican food.
Let me start by saying, I was really excited to stay here based off of the reviews. I just wish I had dug a little deeper. We booked this hotel for 10 nights, staying in one of the queen suites. It gave us two queen sized beds and a pull-out couch. Since we were staying for an extended period of time, the extra space was important as were the amenities. Traveling with two children meant the indoor pool was a huge plus. Franklin was not our vacation spot, but it was only 20-30 minutes away from where we spent more of our time and the hotel seemed to have everything we wanted so we booked it. It was late when we checked in on a Saturday night. The front desk clerk was friendly and he had our key all ready since they were expecting us. We went right in and were immediately assaulted with the smell (Room 113). It's the south, so yes it's humid and yes the less-used rooms can smell musty from lack of use. This wasn't musty, it was mildew. The smell was so bad that by the time my husband had brought in our bags, I had a headache. We went back to the front and let them know our issue and he immediately put us in a new room (Room 111). This room still smelled but it didn't seem quite as severe and I told myself it had to be because these rooms weren't used that much. Yeah. The room was disgusting. It was more humid in our room than it was outside. We would leave the hotel at 9:00 in the morning with our AC on and come back to our towels still wet from the shower at 10:00 at night. The carpet felt damp under our feet, the walls looked like they'd been repainted from water damage, and I found mold along another wall. Even with some air freshener, the room still stunk. On top of the gross rooms, the indoor pool was closed. When we asked why, we were told two different things: The heater was broken and there was a leak. When I found the manager and asked her, she told me it was a leak and that it was closed because they were draining it. Mind you, the pool did not get drained during one of the six days we were there. So, did I bring up these issues while we were there? You bet. The first time I brought up the dissatisfaction with the pool, the manager told me "Well, I can check you out." Not an apology. Not an offer to help us find another room at another Choice Hotel. Just told us she could check us out. The first time I complained about the room, the clerk moved us. The second time, the clerk (another young man) told us it was from lack of use. The third time, I was told I needed to bring it up with the manager ("She's in at 7 in the morning tomorrow, but I wouldn't come to her right at 7 with complaints." ...) and the fourth time was with the manager who told me the room was damp and humid because we were running the AC on high. Okay. Sure. So at night when I had the AC on low and at a higher temperature (because I can't sleep when I'm freezing) it shouldn't have been humid according to that logic, right? It was still gross to the point that sleeping was hard. Again, we were not offered a single apology. The fourth time I complained, I told the manager that we were going to check out early at that point and it seemed to be of no consequence to her. We are home now and our bags and the contents, even after being in a new hotel for four nights, smell disgusting. I had to rewash anything that had been in those bags, whether they were clean or not. I had to spray our bags with deodorizer and let them air out. It's disgusting. So, the positives? Well, the breakfast was okay. Waffles, biscuits, eggs, bagels, bread, cereal, and usually a meat. The breakfast staff was nice. The beds were actually pretty comfortable in the room. The shower had good water pressure. The hotel was right off the interstate but it was not noisy. (Well, not traffic-wise. We were right by the stairs so we heard people when they'd run up or down them, sometimes in the middle of the night.) With all that said, I would never stay there again and I definitely will not be recommending this hotel to my friends. I dug deeper into the reviews to find I am not the first to have this issue with the humid/gross rooms and really wish I had dug deeper before we wasted so many days of our vacation there. I could have lived without the indoor pool (although it was fairly disappointing) but the gross rooms... Not so much.
Very nice hotel while attending the races at Kentucky Downs . The Mexican restaurant in not bad and is within walking distance . Nice cold BEER Staff is willing to help with various directions . Well worth the stop . Will be back
The rooms were very clean and the women working at the front desk was very polite. I travel frequently for work and I would rank this as one of the nicer hotels I have spent a night at. There is also ample parking for our large service truck that we drive. Good breakfast and an indoor pool. Wouldn't hesitate to stay here again.
I stopped just for a night from traveling from Arkansas to Ohio. I stay at Choice Hotels fairly frequently and Comfort Inns can be hit or miss, this is by far the nicest one I've stayed in. Rooms were great with nice finishes; granite in the bathroom, new furniture. Would recommend.
I checked in Tuesday night June 20th. Once back on the road, I found that I had left three shirts hanging in the closet and a special pillow in room 312. I called the front desk, spoke with a gentleman who said he would check on the missing items and call me back. I never received a call from him. On the return leg of my trip (Sunday June 25th) , I stopped by the motel and spoke to the front desk people. They checked.but did not find any of the missing items. The lady at the desk said she would check with housekeeping and call me the next day. I never received a callback from her. The shirts were brand new and the pillow was a special people I need for sleeping. Apparently housekeeping at the motel kept the items I left in the room. CAUTION: NEVER LEAVE ANYTHING IN A COMFORT INN MOTEL ROOM AND EXPECT TO GET IT BACK. THE MOTEL STAFF DIDN'T HAVE THE DECENCY TO CALL ME BACK.
The good things about this Comfort Inn are that the rooms are clean, the beds are comfortable, and the staff at the front desk are friendly. The lady in the breakfast area however is pretty annoying. We heard way too much about her personal life and her work history making it difficult to enjoy the breakfast that is included with your room. The breakfast options are pretty standard with waffles, fruit- fresh and canned, cereal, toast and bagels along with powdered eggs and sausage offered one day and biscuits and gravy the next. The coffee pots were full and there were three kinds of juice available each day.
This was a very good stop for us on our way to FL. Reasonably priced, clean, staff was friendly and helpful. I thought brkfst was adequate, not looking for anything outstanding at these places, and overall was a nice place to stay.
