Our second time here was just as good as the first. Friendly staff, great extras and accommodations. Unique little hotel at a reasonable price. Hard to beat. Not a ton of extra amenities. If you want a pool, hot tub, etc. it's not the place for you, but it's super clean and easy to get to with multiple tvs and good-sized rooms.
The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful and the coffee service was great (if you like french press). When the addition/construction is finished the hotel will be much improved. My only critical comment is that the main room needs a dining table as there is nowhere to eat. No point having a kitchen if you can't sit down to eat. There is this big empty useless space at the end of the room. Also, it'd be nice if the TV wasn't mounted at the top of the wall, its hard to view way up there. With that said though, it was comfortable and a nice change from the major chain hotels. I'd stay again.
This was a pleasant surprise hotel! Great staff who checked us in. She gave us a little snack box and walked us to our room- showed us around the LARGE - apartment sized room -- nice personal touch! Loved the concrete floors( they give little slippers) as I hate to walk on motel carpet - yuck!!! Very clean, modern feel. Has kitchen, couch, chair in living room, separate bath and bedroom. AC worked great! Comfy bed - Nice big shower! I wish we needed to stay longer! We will definitely stay again. I'm excited about their new addition- it's a great place! Has a coffee bar in lobby along with fruit. No breakfast, but that's ok, we don't eat breakfast at most motels - they just are not very good! We saved a bit by booking directly with the motel from their web site!! I was very impressed with this place!!!
We stayed last night at Hotel Sync, and the recent reviews accurately portray our experience there. This is a small, independent suite hotel which has been operating for 4 years with fewer than 20 suites. The biggest negative for us was that there is no elevator. However, they quickly offered us the first floor handicap accessible unit, which we accepted. Our stay was very pleasant and the staff is most accomodating. As others have said, the pluses far outweigh the cold floors and the poor window treatments. The beds and the bathroom are very good. Do check the website, or call for directions. There is a lot of highway construction nearby, and their own driveway is closed. Access is through the adjacent hotel.
We paid $187 total, rip off...there is only a leather sofa and 2 plastic bar stools for seating in the whole place, and a bed. Where does a family eat? Only 3 can sit on sofa which is as cold and icy as the concrete floors. Two people MAYBE at the barstools if the microwave wasn't on the kitchen counter (with a hole drilled thru the counterpoint for the wire) the exposed kitchen pipes...weird. at this price u expect more than an apple or orange for breakfast. Want coffee? Go interrupt the only office employee to come spend 5 minutes making you a pot...which u then have to let sit for 5 minutes and was full of coffee grounds. My advice? Pack coffee and use the maker in the room and spare that poor woman playing receptionist, check in, check out, tour guide, a navigator, and batista all at once. I felt bad for her. All the economy friendly this and that...please. the water is set so hot Noone could stand it...conserve there. Same with your rain showers that pour out water. What a contradiction. Nothing to do in the lobby...not a TV. Just a sofa and pool table. Outside...2 slivered wooden chairs. That's it. A group of 10 of us stood outside chatting awkwardly with literally nowhere to sit with our coffee and construction dust and trucks whizzing by. We landed up finding a cabin...like renting a whole house for half this and THEN our vacation began.
This hotel is not exactly in a garden spot but it was a very welcome change to the typical chain accommodations. It reminds one of a long stay property with a large kitchen and separate bedroom and living space. The fixtures and bedding are much better than average and the bathroom was something you might expect at a high end property. The staff is conscientious and welcoming. The washer/dryer would have been most welcome had we not been going home the next day. We were really tickled with our French press coffee in the morning.
This is a different kind of place, full of contadictions. Until the addition is added on there are only 12 or so suites and we heard no noise from construction in our rooms. It is a very industrial feeling place, and very clean. A free laundry room, and a pool table are in the lobby. There is also a coffee bar, with a fabulous french press coffeemaker that makes a cup of java that my husband called better than Starbucks. But there is no breakfast other than some fruit. The rooms on the first floor where we were because there is no elevator, are all cement floors, pretty but cold even though they give you terry cloth slippers. The rooms have a full size fridge and kitchen with a box of snacks to welcome you. There are two TV's, one in the bedroom and one in the living room area. I wondered why there were ear plugs on nightstand, and then when we went to lie down on the comfy bed the quiet fan that was running switched to cooling mode and became noisy. The hotel has bright lights for security in the parking lot but the window shades don't block it entirely out. Makes it easy to find your way to the bathroom in the night. All in all the good far out weighs the bad and this hotel is one we would go back to.
Although we did not request it, we were given a handicapped room, and it was interesting to see how well it was arranged--open areas, no carpet, wheelchair height lavatory and kitchen sink, and roll-in shower. The full kitchen a separate bedroom made this more like an apartment than a hotel. We took advantage of the free laundry facilities, enjoyed the snack box, and ate at one of the recommended restaurants that we wouldn't have found on our own. Since our destination was the Corvette Museum, The Sync could not have been more conveniently located. Almost forgot to say how helpful and friendly the staff was.
The Hotel Sync was everything we needed and more for our 3-day stay in Bowling Green. Very courteous greeting and walkthrough from the manager as soon as we arrived. Positive things we noted right away: a bottle-filling station in the foyer with good cold water, laundry room (free to use), a pool table with a 9pm curfew, and a Quiet Hours rule from 10pm-7am (I think those were the hours). The kitchen was excellent and well stocked. The living/dining area was a bit under-furnished considering the suite is meant to be able to accommodate 4-6 people (we had a 2-queen suite). The couch was comfortable enough but other seating was inadequate or nonexistent. No dining table and chairs, just two stools at the kitchen island, and one awkward chair in the living room off to one side. We always seemed to have at least one person standing while eating. Not a big deal if it was one night but after a few days it’s kind of annoying. We repurposed some other furniture to make an extra seat and made do. Floors are stained concrete and therefore cold (though I love the look). We were there in August with air conditioning set to about 70-72 but the floors were always freezing. Have flip flops or slippers at the ready for time spent hanging out at the hotel. The dishes provided were high quality, but we found a broken plate in the cabinet, as the plates were heavy and beautiful but stacked horizontally on top of each other. The tap water in the room smelled strongly of chlorine and didn’t taste right so we stuck with the bottle-filler out in the foyer and brought some of our own drinks in. Another nonissue for me. The hotel is still growing and under construction, so these little quirks are forgivable and will likely work themselves out as the management gain experience and the ongoing renovations finish up. I turned in the broken plate at the front desk and by the next day it had been replaced by housekeeping. Honestly, it’s hard to find fault with The Hotel SYNC. Service was fabulous, the location is hard to beat, lots of good restaurants and museums close by, and the rooms are refreshingly modern. Very comfortable beds, and TV in both the bedroom and the living room so it’s easy to spread out and not step on each other’s toes. We had a great time overall and would definitely stay again if we return to the area.
My husband and I planned to stay in the Bowling Green area for 5 nights, so I was looking for a suite. The Sync was perfect! So large with a living room, kitchen, bedroom with a king size bed and large bathroom/ dressing area. It was so quiet, unlike a regular hotel room and all this for the same price as a chain hotel. Their service is above and beyond what I expected. They not only recommended some great restaurants but printed out the addresses and directions. This is a family owned business and the service reflects the fact that they value your business. We had to cancel our 5th night and while they did not have to they refunded that nights charge. I would highly recommend The Hotel Sync!
