Doris is a gem! She's so sweet and accommodating. It's a beautiful, clean home and her breakfast was amazing! The town is small and quaint, there isn't a ton to do without traveling a little out of town. But that's to be expected in a town settled in the mountains of WV!
Beautiful house restored to its early 20th century (1902) grandeur and style. Spacious, comfortable bedroom. Doris is a delightful host. Sat on the front porch and chatted with her and another couple for an extended period learning about the history of the town and the house. Breakfast was top notch, with wonderful french toast and eggs to order, fresh fruit. And the pantry had snacks and a fridge with bottled water. Wonderful stay. Only drawback and this is VERY minor: the train tracks are 50 yards from the front porch. When the whistle blew at 5:43 a.m. it was a surprise to say the least. But that's what you get in a small railroad town.
The host, Doris, was such an accomodating, friendly lady. The house is warm, friendly and just beautiful! A wonderful stay!
I'm reluctant to say just how good our stay here was, just because it will be booked solid next time I have a chance to visit! It is a delightful place to stay! The accommodations were generous, the inn keeper (Doris) charming, and very knowledgeable of the area's history, and she makes the most delicious breakfasts! I will definitely be back!
