We chose the Double Tree for its convenience to the convention center. We decided the high price would be worth just being able to walk across the street for the tournament we were in town for. The hotel and room were clean, beds comfy, but our room was small and the bathroom was the size of a crackerjack box. The elevator made groaning noises that became quite annoying and beware that you will pay an extra $20 a day for parking on top of the inflated price per night. We did frequent the cafe for convenience. Limited menu, but wasn’t too bad.

When I checked in, I was given a key and assigned to a room that another guest was still checked into. I opened the door to find their belongings. This did not make me feel safe in my own room.

The hotel seemed like it needed a bit of a renovation. The carpet was in need of cleaning and the furniture in our room was chipped and looked old. Service at the restaurant was a bit slow, there were two servers who were both doing bartending duties as well all on a night that there was a Kenny G concert going to take place just next door...you'd think staffing would have kept that in mind.

We had a 2 night stay. The shower was outdated and tiny. There was never any warm or hot water. We tried to have pizza delivered to our room but the front desk stopped the delivery guy and refused to let him up. When we checked in, the attendants were super nice, but checking out there was an older lady at the front who was very rude and not helpful with questions. Housekeeping didn’t come by in our 2 day stay and we had to go downstairs for replacement towels. Definitely not worth the amount payed to stay in the “Hilton”.
