this hotel is in an underground bunker at -4 and -5 from street level. There are no windows and if you turn off all the lights in the room you are in pitch darkness - you cannot see your hand in front of your face - or where your phone is or where the light switch is. This I found truly disturbing and claustrophobic - I think a good suggestion would be to have at least slightly illuminated lightswitches. The rooms are below the underground line and so you can feel and her the underground trains rumbling overhead - if you are a light sleeper this is very disturbing. The toilet flush system is super powerful and noisy. you can hear people flushing there toilets in other rooms. The most unpleasant thing was being charged to leave bags both before and after checkin. Your summary of hotel facilities includes luggage storage but it does not mention that it is paying and GBP15 per bag both before and after checkin. This is the first and only hotel I have ever stayed in where this has been applied - not market practice and very dishonest.

Checkin process was annoying - had to retype all my information even though they already had it. Charged me an early check-in fee despite having plenty of available rooms and it being after 1pm. The hallways smelled. Water not very hot. You are literally five floors underground and can hear the tube going by every 3 minutes. Lobby also underground and grim.

Very central hotel, tiny but super cute room, although (as advertised) completely without any amenities, such as hairdryers, tv, tea/coffee making facilities in the room (although these are all available near the Reception. Staff lovely.

Being an underground hotel, it was nice and quiet. The air conditioning in my room didn't work very well. There was a funky smell in the common areas. I had a twin room. One of the beds did not have any mattress protector and the other one had a stained mattress protector so I slept on top of the duvet.

For the price you pay you'd expect at least a coat hanger. Place is quiet but you have the constant rumble of tubes constantly so if you're a light sleeper you won't get much sleep. Aircon would of been better having a member of the team blow on me as it was that light even on full

The best part about this hotel is the location. If you want to be right in the mix, central to all major things/metro this place is great for you. The rooms however are stripped to the bare bones. Someone may call that minimalistic but I would call it skimping. These new budget hotels cut corners for profit. Our room still had marking from the builders during construction. And you could just tell it had never been properly deep cleaned. We had to beg for room cleaning and extra towels. You get what you pay for!

The worse experience I've had in 20 years of staying in London! I had booked a room at 4:30pm, but upon arriving 8 hours later that day, I was informed that my room was unavailable due to a “maintenance issue”. I had booked the room specifically because I had an early meeting at Tottenham Court Road the next morning, and needed to be nearby. There were tube strikes so wanted to get into London ahead of time. Upon arriving at the hotel I was asked to sit and wait for 20 minutes without any information. When I was finally spoken to, I was told that my room was unavailable, but not to worry, we’ve got you a room at another hotel. However, this hotel was across the other side of London – with no Tubes running, and without being provided any transportation. I was trying to work out how I was going to get there at 1am in the morning when the employee faced me and said “what are you still doing here?”. There was a total lack of empathy or understanding. I can’t imagine what it would have been like to have left someone vulnerable in that position. Having finally arrived at the other hotel, I managed just a few hours sleep before having to get up early to make my way back to Tottenham Court Road for an early morning meeting.

Everything went wrong with this hotel. The staff did not care about customer needs and hotel smelled horrible and trash stayed in hallway for two days. We got to hotel and we were told the room we booked was not available, so we were given a smaller room. We asked for extra pillows and blanket three days in a row and never received them. We were told cleaning staff left for the day and no one could help. It was one of the worse hotels I have ever stayed at.

Being underground, the tube trains can clearly be heard regularly passing by so I'd advise ear plugs. Also, the only refreshments that the hotel offers is tea and coffee, however when I arrived they'd run out of milk and the next delivery was due the following day - it hadn't arrived by the time I checked out. (there's a nearby Sainsbury's that the hotel staff could have bought some milk from for customers to be able to have tea/coffee in the interim period before the milk delivery arrived). My booking also stated breakfast was provided however the hotel does not provide this. The room was clean and fulfilled its basic function of providing overnight accommodation.

Absolutely freezing. -1 outside and the best i could get the room to was 15 degrees (with help of staff). Weird smell in all corridors - damp?? And the NOISE - tubes going over the room every 30 seconds, good luck sleeping! Decor is nice though and shower was good

Staff said it would cost £40 to check in 1hr early. I waited 55mins and went back up to reception. Was told to sit down for 5mins as no check in before 3pm, quite rude. No hairdryers or iron in the room, you have to go to a communal area to use them. You can hear the tubes so it’s difficult to sleep.

Frankly it was a bizarre check-in experience. The man on reception sat me down for it, seemed annoyed that I didn't have photo ID (I've not been asked for this at other Zedwell hotels), and then shouted my room number and how to get there. Only one lift. There was a weird smell in reception. Most of my light swtiches didn't work. Avoid!

My reservation was moved to ANOTHER hotel on the night of my stay. I arrived late at night and was told I had to go to another part of London. Honestly never experienced anything like it. And then I woke up to no hot water. Disaster.
