Very comfortable hotel in a great location (just a few minutes walk from Hyde Park, and the Central, District and Circle underground lines). Very helpful staff, good food and comfortable rooms with air conditioning. Lots of restaurants nearby.
Very poor noise insulation in the bedroom. The shower had a very weak stream. The hairdryer was very temperamental. The TV was at right angles to the bed so impossible to watch in bed. There was only one chair. Overall the room was unsatisfactory because of the noise.
This is a wonderful hotel. Allowed me an early check in and a late check out. I had one night before my flight to the Middle East. I personally love Hyde Park. I rent a bicycle and ride around before my flight. View from my room.
When I arrived last week in this hotel, they asked my credit card to take the deposit that got withdrawned from my account, when I checked out the staff made me pay the full amount of my stay. I asked them if they would take the difference between my deposit and my stay (which is what happens in most hotels) and if they were sure that I would not get withdraned the amount twice, they were aparently! Finally I paid double my amount and the person handling my case there is challenging the fact that both payments happened in their outlet, never had such a poor experience!
Two you ladies are not easy to accomodate, they did it -a and took care of the Dad as well! Changed unconvenient room in a prompt way with courtesy and elasticity and transferred baggages and belongings as the family was out of the hotel.
I had tea yesterday at the Hilton at Hyde Park and can truly say that the standard of service, presentation, variety of open sandwiches and quality of cakes etc., was better than Clariges in London, where I had tea 3 weeks ago. I might add that it was also less than half the price. I could not recommend more highly.
The rooms are nice and facing the Hyde Park, however, if you go for this option, the noise at night (car and traffic at the main road) would be quite disturbing. If you are a light sleeper, go for a backyard room. The shower (water pressure) could be better. The cafe is very busy all day long, seems a chic meet up place in the area.
Excellent location with a super professional and helpful staff. Cute building with modest sized rooms, but very comfortable. A bit overpriced, but this is London after all. I give the breakfast staff and front desk staff top marks for their polite service. Highlight is location across from Hyde Park and near Kensington Palace-a perfect morning walk.
Classic historic london hotel overlooking Hyde park. I had a corner room overlooking the park and the room was small, but comfortable. Good closet space and even a free-standing table and chair (not one of those built into the wall space savers). Bed was comfortable. My only issue was the shower, which is about 2.5 to 3ft per side. So for a big guy like me, it was a bit of a challenge opening the folding shower door, getting in the shower and then getting the door closed - very cozy and challenging if you are claustrophobic (I'm not). Also, the temperature had a good bit of up and down variance and if it gets too hot you have to be quick on the dial as you can't really dodge the hot water in the confined space. Front desk service was great, helpful finding nearest tube, places to run, food, etc. Very helpful and friendly. Pedro at the front desk was a real help - give him a raise. I struggled with the A/C and couldn't seem to get the temperature right - you know, Goldilocks syndrome, where either it was too hot or too cold, i never found 'just right' but maybe that's me. 60 seconds away is Queensway which is a quaint little street for shopping, cafe's etc. and the Central Line. Just a 2-3 minute walk further up the road was the Bayswater Tube (Circle and District lines, super convenient to Paddington and the rest of london). Little Spanish cafe immediately next door served English breakfast (somehow that seems awkward), and was quick, good and inexpensive. I ate at the French restaurant (Aubaine) on property one night and it was quite good. I had the French version of the antipasti platter; cheese, salami, calamari, olives - very good. The burrata was so-so, but the house wine was nice (a rarity in my book where the house wine is suitable for anything other than tie-dye), but serious expensive (13 GBP or about 17 US Dollars for a glass of house wine). Good wifi and great location. Grumpy old guy rating - thumbs up, I'd stay again.
A super hotel overlooking the park, ideally located on bus and tube routes for easy onward travel to any part of London. The staff were welcoming, we had a fab room, luxurious bathroom, a very enjoyable stay
