Stayed here for 2 nights while visiting some attractions in Chipley, FL. The location is in, from what I can tell, a good area with several dining options nearby. The room I had was very clean and for the most part, up to date. Breakfast options that were included were satisfactory and what I was expecting (Continental fare with proteins on weekdays, waffles on weekends). Didn't notice any noise or undesirable characters hanging around the hotel, so that was a plus. Overall, I like the Residence Inn concept a bit better overall. I plan on returning to the Panhandle soon, and I will keep this location in mind for a return visit.
This is definitely an older property ... as seen by the kitchen setup (older drawers and range) and the small round toilet (not elongated). The bed was comfortable, and the room was clean, but there was nothing outstanding about this hotel. Weekend breakfast didn't have eggs or breakfast meats, and there were no herbal (caffeine free) teas. Coffee was good, though. We probably would not return to this property, instead choosing another Marriott product nearby.
I really needed to stay in Tallahasse, but had no prior experience, so I took one of the few hotels that had rooms available, because it was graduation weekend. I now wish that I had just taken a tent along on my journey. Check in went just fine. Details were explained after I was welcomed and I w?"\\as looking for a good night's sleep. "Where are your luggage carts?" I asked. The response was to look behind the staircase. I looked in both buildings, but found no carts. I later learned that this hotel had only 4 luggage carts for the entire facility. The room and the hallways were not really very clean. Morning came, and I went to look for the free breakfast that was to be served starting at 6:30. At 6:45 the breakfast room was dark. When I found someone and asked about it they told me that the truck did not make their normal delivery on the day prior. No apologies, no other provisions. When I responded to the corporate survey on the quality of my stay my honest response resulted in a snide letter from the manager. No compensation, no honest thank you, just an unacceptable response that ended with the hopes that I would return. Ha!
I found this location as I was traveling through the area. The room I stayed in was clean and comfortable. It was updated with a wonderful modern full kitchen. I always look forward to the breakfast, and I was not disappointed. (If you are a lover of Marriott waffles, they only serve those on the weekend.) Every staff member I encountered was friendly and helpful.
I first I used mobile check in and was advised my room ready. Upon check in I was told no rooms please be patient. After I said I had confirmation than I was told you can have room 301. Interesting from wait to room 302. Website said all room renovated however I disagree because room was not up to par. Good location for my event. 2 Bedroom convenient for the family. Bathroom small and bed was so uncomfortable and the mattress had a dip in the center. Room 301 master bedroom definitely needs a new mattress. Microwave door button is coming off and carpet through out needs and upgrade. The staff was not friendly and when any request made the response was always In by myself so I can't do that at this time. However went down once only to see a sign, I step away to assist a customer so if you could not assist me than who were they assisting. Overall I'm glad I found a 2 bedroom but this would not be a choice if in the area again unless last one left and the choice would be because I support Marriott Brand and not this hotel.
Although the room was somewhat small, it was equipped with a modern FULL kitchen (including oven and full-sized fridge) and had a sleeper sofa for the little ones. Breakfast was decent, even though it was crowded during our weekend stay.
Leaky sink, hole in disposal, dirty elevator, entry door lock broke, chipped furniture, kitchen not equipped, pool dirty (no fun sitting at a green pool), grill rusty and no gas, Plus- Pros dog friendly and good breakfast
On our most recent trip through Tallahassee, we booked a different hotel. We have been going to this hotel for 1 night about 4 nights a year for two or three years. Each trip hoping, the hotel would be cleaner, but it had just gotten nastier. 11/30/2016 was our last visit. I really want to use a hotel with a kitchen and full fridge and freezer. I have needs of bringing food and freezing ice packs. However, the hallways wreak of pet smells, and look filthy, especially the main entrance in building A. The rooms are smelly. This hotel charges 100.00 pet fee, or is supposed to, and I do not see that they use it to clean the rooms. Many times, we have asked for a different room. The desk staff has always been the shining star at this hotel. They always are cheerful and pleasant. Often the rooms have missing items. Our last trip, I tried to heat my food in a pot, the pot had dried on food in it. I am not saying that it had not been run through the dishwasher. It just had not come off. I could not find a scrubbing pad of any kind. We asked at the front desk. All they had was a sponge of some kind that could not scrub. I definitely pre washed the kitchen items before using them, just because the place looks and smells unsanitary. The breakfast area downstairs had a nasty sticky floor, and I have never been fond of the breakfast there,but they do serve hot oatmeal, which is my main breakfast choice. I apologize for not reviewing sooner, but I had health issues. If you are a pet owner, this place may be fine for you, but I would still wonder what they do with my pet fee and I would still want a clean environment. Someone else said that Marriott should not allow their name on this place, I sadly feel the same way. I expect the Marriott name to mean that I will have an odor free, fresh room. The place needs a complete overhaul of furniture and carpeting at the very least. I hope they do it soon and they actually clean the carpets and deodorize the rooms after pets have been there.
Horrible, Horrible, Horrible. The first problem was check in. Some guy in a pair of Scrubs (looked like he just came from the nursing home) checked me in. Unprofessional attire should have been the clue to run. It was 1/17/17 and I was supposed to stay for two nights but quickly checked out the next morning. The first thing was the television, They have a TV guide that says HBO is channel 999. When you turn there the TV informs you that channel is not working. I picked up the phone and tried to call the front desk. The phone cord was not plugged in. I plugged that in and made the call. The "Scrubs Guy" promptly told me they don't have HBO. WOW another thing to cut cost because their occupancy is in the toilet. The place needs remodeled. The Bathroom is old and wore out. The bed is very uncomfortable and the AC barely works on a 75 degree day with 90 % Humidity. It smelled musty. Then this morning the 18th. Breakfast is supposed to be at 6:30. At 6:38 the night clerk quickly told me that the breakfast person did not show up this morning so she was doing everything. So there was no breakfast at that time. I then just politely told her I needed to check out. She finally ran around there and checked me out of the system. She never bothered to ask why I was leaving early, I'm sure down deep she knew the answer to that. Don't stay here!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
After staying at Marriott Facilities for many years, for both business and personal use, this was the worst I have encountered. Upon arrival the desk clerk was very accommodating and our reservation was ready for our room. The parking lot could have used better lighting and we felt a little uncomfortable walking to our room, but all was uneventful. The first order of business was to use the bathroom (#1), when we flushed the toilet, the water was slow at going down and did not flush properly, so a call to the desk was made. The desk clerk promptly came to our room with a plunger and cleared the problem, which should have been caught by house services. The plunging lasted for only 1 additional flush, however after a long days drive we did not report again. While in the bathroom I noticed that there was a bath mat already in the shower, unfortunately there was ground in dirt where the person stands to shower. The bathroom looked like work was done around the sink, but never caulked. There also seemed to be some stains on the couch. In all my years of staying at Marriott branded hotels, this was the first time that I did not take a shower because the shower was dirty and we could not wait to leave. This was defiantly not was I expect from a Marriott branded hotel. We have stayed at the Residence Inn (Capitol) and it is excellent and clean but they now have a parking fee and the Spring Hill here is also nice. We stayed at a TownePlace Suites in Bloomington Indiana that was nice and decided to try this one.
