The hotel is in bad need of an update. Not terrible facility, but not good either. Managed very poorly. Someone on our hallway (in a “smoke free” building) was smoking. A lot. It permeated the halls, and even our rooms. I called the front desk to complain, and was told that they knew, but couldn’t do anything about it. It was awful, and they didn’t care. Chose not to do anything. In addition, one of the perks of being an elite member is the mobile check-in feature. Even though I’d already checked in via the app, they asked me a litany of dumb questions as I was trying to get my room key. All in all, not the kind of experience or facility I expect from a Marriott property.
We stayed here for a quick overnight meeting. I was disappointed that the hotel was no where near full and housekeeping I'm sure started at 9am, but they had NO room to check us into at 1pm. I did request the early check in so they were aware in advance. Other than that the room was clean and well appointed, the bed was super comfy, the water pressure was good and hot water was readily available. We left before breakfast so I have no idea about that.
First of all upon check in she had my credit card on file and then also asked me for $220 cash I told her that's not the way it goes you hold my credit card and I'd like to pay cash after after I check out after I check out I had a stay of three nights the first night I got there she called me at midnight and asked for $2.83 I waited for 30 minutes for her to come up and get it I called 3 times to front desk and still she didn't come I said can I put it under the door cuz I want to go back to sleep I have a hospital procedure tomorrow she said no I'll be right there I got all bit up by fleas I ask for no pet room non-smoking the fleas bit me everywhere my head my chest my arms my back Jose looked at it I was literally crying in tears the manager told me do not threaten me with TripAdvisor I told him I'm a badge holder and I am going to review this he said hold on hold on man first don't threaten me I don't care who you are I don't care who has TripAdvisor who has this or that or one thing another and he had an attitude with me would not give me a word edgewise never got a sorry never got a sorry got a sorry from anyone in the hotel front desk or the general manager of this property Marriott needs to take their name off of this property it's giving Marriott a bad name it's dirty it smells like pee and they don't care they just don't care about the property at all and you can tell that from the second you walk in my advice to you is run run run don't even stop don't consider it don't look at it because it's awful I left the next day crying and checked into the Baymont Inn & Suites on Apalachee Parkway and that was 10 times cleaner than this hotel and everyone was friendly the staff management everything and the only thing the manager could do was pay my room that I was staying at already for 2 days which did not equal to what I paid over there to their property they definitely need a new manager and I only gave it one star because I had to otherwise I couldn't write the hotel but it doesn't even deserve the one it deserves a negative
The room was large with a kitchen, and the bed was comfortable. The breakfast area served enough variety to satisfy me, although there were a lot of people there and it felt cramped. It could use a little spiffing up, but it was clean. There are a number of restaurants within walking distance. Fairly easy to find off of interstate 10.
A great suite hotel to me is one that has rooms which can act as an apartment. This hotel is one that could act as a long-term apartment. Everything was within easy reach. The bed was very comfortable and the best in a nine-night stretch. The desk was perfect for my work on the computer. Food choices at the site and nearby were limited but easily obtainable. I enjoyed my stay so much that I booked an extra night when I was supposed to be somewhere else. Only complaint was the confusing TV-cable system and no premium channels.
Stayed here this weekend - was a little apprehensive after reading some of the reviews but the place was clean although older. Staff was friendly but kept very busy! Room was smallish but worked wel! Breakfast was standard fare but easy to get to! I booked through the Marriott website and got a great deal as a senior! Good location to where we were going! I felt safe!
This hotel only offered us queen bed so since this was only a stopover and we accepted. our queen bed was uncomfortable, seemed small for a queen and we normally rolled to the middle. We stayed on the second floor so we had rooms and heavy stepping for awhile above us. Take the 3rd floor if possible for your stay. The room did have a kitchenette so this was a plus. Front desk was extremely friendly and helpful. A few miles off the interstate but not difficult to find.
Stayed for two nights - at over $150/night. Really not worth the money. PROS: Layout - for a business traveler, the desk, couch and full compact kitchen are excellent. Breakfast was OK. Staff adequate, except for Jose who was outstanding! They provide newspapers in lobby. CONS: long list. Interior Common Areas: 1. The interior areas are dark and badly worn, with the bottom of every door and doorway showing years of luggage cart damage. 2. The equipment TVs in the extremely small gym did not work. And, the wall had been badly damaged and cracked with an indent still in it. 3. Breakfast closes at 9 am - and given that most patrons appeared not business related, early close was surprising. Limited fruit, and most fruit was well past fresh. Room Details: 1. No lid on toilet, and only shelf in bath room was directly above the toilet, waiting for things to drop in. Towel bar on other wall above toilet - and a towel did fall in. 2. Press on linoleum flooring was coming up in kitchen 3. Metal stripping connecting carpet to kitchen flooring is tacked down with protruding screws - to rip socks, hurt feet. 4. Sink has water saver feature, which slows water so much, it takes forever to warm - and I ended up rinsing my hands in the adjacent tub spout. 5. TVs take roughly 60-90 seconds to turn on - and remotes are wonky. TVs are too small for rooms, and on 270 degree swivel to accommodate entire room. 6. Beds and couch are really soft an worn. 7. Some dirt in room - including shaving cream or tooth paste on the wall next to the sink.
The hotel exterior was very worn, as were the inside of the rooms. There were shady characters around the hotel and I get the feeling that the hotel does long term rentals. The inside of the room smelled moldy. The hotel was more like a Days Inn than a Marriott. This hotel was not the Marriott we remember from years past. We had 2 nights reservation and checked out after staying there 1 night. The local property owner refunded our 2nd night's stay but not the 1st. So I contacted Marriott HQ. The position of Marriott is that it is not their fault that the hotel was not up to Marriott standards and that they bear no responsibility for the hotel’s condition. However, the hotel was not up to usual Marriott standards and I don’t think Marriott should put their name on it and collect a franchise fee unless they are willing to stand behind it.
Stayed here overnight driving from Tampa back to Oklahoma.... the floors were dirty and front desk staff not so welcoming. It was an average stay and the breakfast wasn’t bad either. For the purpose of an overnight stay while driving across the country: it did the job.
