If you do not need a downtown location, Hampton is a good choice. I-29 & RT 6 easy access. Food, shopping & St. Joe visitor center nearby. Room fine except wall operated AC/heat got stuck in constant fan mode, only booked 2 nights so I didn't bother getting it fixed. Bed height is higher than average, if you are 5'5" or shorter it is a stretch getting in and out of bed.
The room was okay, the air conditioner fan was very loud. The breakfast was good. The parking situation is difficult, there are not enough spaces.
we stayed overnight for a wedding. It was ok. Our only complaint was they were working on paving the parking lot so it left us NOWHERE to park. We walked from Applebees.
Below par. Requested smoking room. Barely slept, between the smoke permeating the walls and door of my room from smokers outside in the hall, to the constant banging upstairs and heavy-footed walking. Ridiculous, and I paid for that.
The hotel was clean, convenient, and delivered on all their promises.
Our stay at the Hampton Inn St Joseph was great. The proximity to both the interstate (and a Starbucks) was just what we were looking for. I especially liked the new furnishings and the remodel job - the furniture, bed linens, and granite bathroom counter with shelving below, the hooks vs towel bars, the curved shower curtain rod, and the overall cleanliness made me think I was in a more upscale hotel than I had previously considered the Hampton to be. The only distractions were the window-unit air conditioner, and I found the pillows either too soft or too hard. Definately a repeat hotel for us the next time we're in Missouri!
