We stayed at this hotel 2-3 years ago and were amazed at the quality. The price was significantly less then, the breakfast options were more extensive, the hot tub and pool were amazing, and we had a terrific stay.
This time was rough. The pool & hot tub were closed the first night of our stay but we were told it would likely reopen the next day. The next day, we found out that it would not open until well after our 3 night stay ended. When we brought this up to the clerk at the desk, we were told that "everyone should have been notified" and that I should have been alerted upon booking. When I informed the clerk that I had booked our stay about 2 months ago, she replied, "oh, well then you wouldn't have known." I was told management would be alerted to our disappointment, as the hot tub was a huge factor in deciding to spend more to return to this hotel.
Breakfast was subpar at best. Previously, there were a tremendous number of options. This time, options were very limited and carb-heavy.
Our first night of the stay, our neighbor had their TV so loud that we couldn't hear our own. When we told the clerk this, she responded, "Yeah. The walls are paper thin."
Overall, we wish we would have stayed elsewhere. We would have saved money, been less frustrated, and kept our positive memories of our first stay at Angler's Lodge.
