Very clean, friendly staff, limited menu in the cafe but tasty, free drinks was very welcome after 9 hours on the road. Price was cheaper than most places nearby in Cape Girardeau, suite was only $109 and free drink, dinner and breakfast tickets.
My husband travels for work and the company pays for stays when out of town. September 2nd my husband went to check in but the company forgot to leave authorization for company credit card on file for his reservation. The front desk clerk seemed new and nervous, so he suggested my husband leave his personal card on file, just til the company card could be authorized and would only be charged $1 because the room charges don't appear til check out. My husband was able to get authorization for the company card literally minutes after this transaction so we felt relieved. But the next day our bank account reflected a pending charge for $280 from Drury! My husband talked to the clerk again who apologized and said he would talk to the manager and someone was supposed to call or stop by the room later with more information. Next day, we haven't heard anything so after work my husband stops by the front desk again. First he's told the issue is in que and may take another day to be processed. We didn't think that was good enough so my husband asked the clerk to call IT (who's supposedly handling this) or asked if there was a manager he could speak to. The clerk called and said it was handled the day before (Sunday, September 3rd) and that we would have to wait for our bank to release the funds. Tuesday we check the account and over the Labor day weekend of course, nothing has changed. But we have bills to pay so I call my bank who says I have to wait 3 business days for it to post or fall off the account. So I call the corporate Drury number and speak to customer service, surely they would be appalled at the misinformation and mishandling of this hole ordeal. Nope, Stacy tells me that she's sorry that we were told it would only be $1 charge and that they require a card on file at check in. Yes, we understand that. But at this point they've charged my husband's company AND our personal account $280 each. Stacy offered to 3 way our bank in hopes of persauding them to do a curtosey release of our funds and gave me the approval code for the cancellation of payment. I told Stacy that next time I book a hotel reservation it certainly will not be with Drury and just reiterated that she could speak with the bank. Also, the pool has black mold growing around the floor sealant so you may want to book elsewhere.
We headed to Southern MO for a long weekend and decided we didn't want to stay at the Drury's in Cape Girardeau; too busy. Besides what we all planned to do was in/around Jackson MO. This Drury is a bit different than the others; it appears to have been a rehab of a previous hotel. The wonderful amenities Drury is well known for are all there, it just looks a bit different from the outside (think Barvarian chalet). It's located right off Interstate 55 and next to wide open fields. The only nearby amenities are a Pizza Inn, DQ and a gas station. There is a banquet center right next door and they have their own parking (you couldn't hear anything from the wedding reception going on). As usual, the breakfast was yummy with lots of selections and so was the 5:30 kickback. My only small complaint over breakfast is they only offer hot black decaf tea, no regular, no green, no flavors; kinda disappointing if you are a tea drinker like myself. The pool is small but adequate and they have a nice (but hot) gym area w/ free weights, 2 treadmills, elliptical, etc. over looking the indoor pool. Room 203 over the lobby is tiny compared to other Drury rooms I've stayed but was adequate for our needs. It was so small that there was no room for a nightstand on the one side of the king size bed. The front desk staff said the rooms are different sizes, strange. Tori, the gal who "cleaned" our room fell short of her duties. The tray in the microwave was covered in dried, thick yellow something, a few cheese puffs were found by the window and the coffee maker was covered in dust. Not sure if it's Tori's responsibility or not but the intake vent to the AC unit (which barely kept the room cool set at 64) was covered in dust. I would avoid rooms 201 & 203. The view from your window is looking directly the entrance roof - literally 2' from your window completely blocking any view whatsoever. I booked this room on Fri AM for that evening and Sat and used points to pay for the room so not sure if that came into play in my room assignment. I hope not. Overall the staff was very friendly and helpful throughout our stay. When I brought the room issues up to "front desk" Tori, she was willing to refund my room costs but since I paid w/ my points she went to her manager and he offered to refund my points. That was beyond what I was expecting and very much appreciated! Drury Inns always takes cares of their customers!
My family (5 small kids plus hubby and I) stayed in a suite for 3 nights during the solar eclipse. Every single staff member we had contact with was incredible! The manager brought ice cold bottled water to all of us viewing the eclipse. One of the workers made a waffle for my young daughter. The whole place was clean and well decorated. Our room was awesome. We loved the breakfast-the food was really good! The coffee was hot and delicious. It was also nice to have a Dairy Queen and Pizza Inn plus a gas station next door. We would definitely stay here again!
Front desk was extremely friendly at check in & check out. Breakfast was great as with all Drury hotels. The room was clean & spacious. The only problem was the a/c wouldn't cool the room down. It wasn't hot but it definitely wasn't cool either. Otherwise our stay was good.
Everyone one was very friendly. Our room was super comfortable and clean. We were there on a Saturday, left on Sunday and when we got close to home realized we had left our pillows. Called them and on Tuesday when I got home from work they were on my doorstep. Could not ask for anymore. Thanks Drury Inn in Jackson Mo. for making our stay GREAT!!!!!!!!
This was my family's first time ever staying in a Drury Inn and based on this experience, it certainly will not be our last. We were greeted professionally by Sarah, and she told us everything we need to know about Drury and the Gold Key Program (which I am now a member of). We loved the "Kickback" and kudos on the good food and drink served by Morgan and Stephanie (Asst Manager). Indoor Pool and Hot Tub were very nice, especially after traveling. The Complementary Breakfast was very delicious!! Plus the Bavarian design was very unique!! Finally, Tori, the desk clerk the next morning was very sweet and profesional. Another thing I found unique is the body wash/shampoo/conditioner dispensers in the shower. If every hotel went to this set-up, there would be a lot less waste and better for our planet.
We have never had a bad experience at a Drury Inn. Clean room. Good breakfast. Great customer service. Comfy bed. Nice pool area. It's a great value. And it's very consistent with the other ones we have stayed.
Very comfortable stay in a clean room (slightly dated). We arrived after the Kickback was over but they did still offer us popcorn and pop. We also didn't take advantage of the breakfast because we were saving ourselves for neighboring Sikeston restaurant, Lambert's.
This Drury Inn is clean and comfortable. The girls we interacted with at the front desk were friendly and very helpful. We ordered pizza from next door and it was delivered promptly to the front desk who then called us to let us know he was there. Breakfast was very well organized with plenty of food for everyone. A great stay!
