Good hotel very close to Chinatown and other sights.

Some staff members were chatting to each other rather than paying attention to guests. The rooms were somewhat worn out. The breakfast was maker.

You get what you pay for. It's not the Ritz, but it's also not $300 per night. I've stayed here several times as a business traveler - so I'm not hanging out in the room very much. The rooms are a bit outdated and definitely show some wear in places, but aside from that I have no complaints. One big plus is that it's on a quiet street (as far as normal SF traffic goes) and NOT in the Tenderloin. The small continental breakfast is a small but nice bonus. It's close to the cable car route and major bus lines (or on the actual route of some, like the 3 Muni bus) and a 10 minute walk to Market Street and BART (longer if you're walking uphill with suitcases). Great restaurants nearby too.

It’s hot although there is ceiling fan, reception personnel not too welcoming.

Great convenient location in Union square and China Town with lots of restaurants and shops. The hotel is old but the rooms are comfortable and clean. The staff are also very nice and helpful. Breakfast is just ok with cold pastries, coffee and tea. It's better if pastries are from local bakery, but I think they are just bulk bake goods. Price is pretty good for SF, so will probably stay again if visiting in the future.

Great location, was able to walk to the Fisherman's Wharf. No air conditioning, but there is a fan in the room and the weather was cool (went the first week of September). You can crack the windows. Free pastry breakfast and a nice coffee machine with options. Parking was an additional $35 a day.

Excellent location. Perfect amenities for a few night exploring San Fransisco.

Good location. Hotel is very run down and the room meets minimal expectations.

This is a reasonably priced hotel in a very expensive area.

Complimentary breakfast was totally disapointing. Some sweet buns and coffee.

I was driving into San Francisco from Southern California for a concert at Slim's. I needed a place to stay the night before the concert and the night of the concert. I wanted a good rate, but also wanted to be in a decent area that was in walking distance to where I needed to go. Since I was driving, having a place to leave my car was also super important. I wasn't going to be in the room very much, so I just wanted it to be safe and clean - didn't need anything fancy. The rooms are very BASIC and SIMPLE.

This hotel is conveniently located near San Francisco's Union Square and theaters. Although it's not fancy, it is comfortable.

A reasonably priced hotel in a very expensive area. Parking is available across the street.

Our room fell far short of the picture use on the web site. We complained, and was given a room that was closer to the picture. My wife insisted we leave this prepaid room but relented when we were moved. The bathrooms were very nice and recently remodeled.

This hotel is located in a very convenient location, between Union Square and Chinatown, close to the Cable Car and many bus lines. The room was clean. Strongly recommended to anyone.

Not glitzy, but spotless, comfortable, and more than adequate for our needs. Very nice front desk staff, who made sure we had what we needed immediately. Great price by S.F. standards, and in the middle of everything. We always stay here and will continue to.

the furniture was terribly old and the hotel is very smelly. There are not even hooks to hang a towel in the bathroom... general condition is very deteriorated.

hotel staff was pleasant, hotel was clean. The review needs to stop asking me for more information.

Great location. Friendly staff. Allow early check in
