Staff didnt pressure for tips and most were trying to make sure everything was good.

The hotel was great. Rooms were clean. The room we selected was great. The room had a pool. People there are friendly. Only complaint is that there was not so much varierty on the food and food was ok. Also that some of the pool bar and sport bar employers we had to try to get their attention if not they will serve everybody else but not us. They should improve food quality and get more variery. But overall our stay was more than excellent. We would definitely go back and recommend this resort.

Property look nice but service is no good.. no room drink.. just 1 bottle of barcelo. Everyday same food. Everytime i go food lunch table is dirty, no spoon etc plus coffee machine is always broken when i go. No music in pool area. As a spanish country, there was no tipico, bachata or merengue.

Beautiful modern design in a gorgeous natural location. Food was very good, internet great all over the hotel. Staff friendly, and Wendy did a great job at yoga and Pilates.

They are trying to position themselves as a top notch resort but they are not even close to it and I would prefer to stay somewhere else next time and would not recommend until they would change stuff and figure out what customer service really is.

The 'new buildings' where i stayed had a clogged shower and hooks falling from the wall. The coffee machine didnt work, and the AC stopped working. The pool lounge chairs in the water had cracks and scraped my legs. Only the food was good and staff doesnt seem to know how to handle complaints. I found 3 giant water bugs in my room and when i asked to be switched to a higher room (i had a swimup room), staff said they could only switch me to another swim up because the paperwork would take too long- what kind of response is that?! I ended up switching to another swim up where AC didn't work and they never bothered to reset my keycards. Also, i know check in says 3pm, but as we all know, when you have an early flight and arrive earlier, hotels take your bag until your room is ready. I arrived at noon and was refused entry at the entrance of property - when i called was told i would need to pay $50 Dollars to check in and its even more if you go earlier. Otherwise they send you down the block to some shops and some sad little beach where people hassle you to buy stuff. When i complained to hotel, they said ORBITZ knows and shouldve disclosed that, but i went on the hotel website and there was no mention of this scam. WORST HOTEL EXPERIENCE IN MY LIFE. DO NOT GO HEREEEEEEE. I think they buy people off to write good reviews b/c all those good reviews dont match. This is probably like a 3 star hotel. Its a shame because the hotel looks nice but management is a mess.

Service leaves you with a very sour taste. I booked 9 rooms for a family reunion and right on the last day you could cancel without any penalties I called Orbitz to make a change. One of our friend's father passed away. We needed to change the room from three to two adults. Orbitz attempted to make the change, but the price would triple and suggested contacting the hotel. Several attempts later, by Orbitz and myself, I find myself at the lobby of the hotel and Orbitz on the line trying to get a supervisor to override the change. After almost two hours at the front desk and with everyone waiting to check in, Orbitz tells me they can't locate a supervisor to which I said, let me ask the front desk person. Mr. Angelo Reyes basically tells me that he is the person to make the decision, but he would not because it is company policy. My issue with that is that ANGELO REYES knowingly wasted Orbitz and my time while setting up my stay to a VERY BAD START. I paid for someone who couldn't attend due to the death of his father right before our stay. There must be something wrong with such policy. Throughout our stay at Senator, we observed how most of the staff try to make things work, but the issues definitely come from the top. The staff has all this rules to follow and no one to make decisions. Simple instructions on how to call room to room were missing. Restaurant reservations were a joke, and the buffet horrible the first day. Drinks were water down and most alcohol unavailable.

Everything is exellent in that hotel i really love it

Great place to stay. The staff is super friendly and helpful. My room had a ocean view with a private pool right outside my room and the price was totally worth it. The only down side was the food. Even though it was buffet style the food was cold. It not keep on mini stoves or anything that would keep it hot. Everything else was great.

I didn’t like it was overcrowded with locals without manners,cutting the buffet lines and no parking, staff was friendly and nice ...

Customer service was terrible. AC in room was bad. We moved to a different room. Food at buffet was mediocre. My daughter was very sick with fever and diarrhea for 3 days and I was looking For a banana to give her and was given the run around no one could give me a banana and I was told buffet was closed. Room service was supposed to be offered and we had to pay for it but was never available. When we called over the course of 3 days we were told we could not order and could not take food from the sports bar or buffet to bring to the room for my daughter who was so sick and couldn’t leave the room. The resort has been remodeled beautifully but lacks in other areas.

The hotel is nice, room was clean and staff is very friendly. But they have limited restaurants, and if you want to go to the disco, you need to walk to the next hotel, which was very crowded. Pool closes at 7pm.

The property is fine overall and the adjoining beach is nice and clean. I didn't like the over crowding. It was very difficult to enjoy any of the amenities because of the huge crowd of guests, mostly locals brought in by the bus-load and many others who drove and found little to no available parking. The resort also mixed up an order for champagne and fruit that I ordered for my wife's birthday - it was delivered to the room where our niece and my stepson were staying.

The staff was sweet. The scenery was beautiful. The Japanese steakhouse was excellent. However, I felt like I was in a 70’s time warp because there was smoking everywhere! I am a non smoker, so the amount of smoking at the resort was disturbing.

Very clean a lot of space and chairs for the beach.. wish the 2 other restaurants were open

As the majority of All Inclusive Resort at the Dominican Republic, check-in time indeed starts at 3:00pm, however, the option for early check-in is possible for an additional fee upon availability; this information is posted on Expedia site as well on the hotel´s information. Dear Guest, Thank you for your review. I am certainly sorry to learn that your expectations were not met and appreciate that you share with us how could it had been better. On behalf of the resort please receive my apologies for any inconvenience. In regards to your comment the charges for a no-show guest, all companies have restrictions and policies clearly outlined for clients when a reservation is placed. In the case of rates with a discount the rule is that if there are changes in the reservations, your payment is not reimbursable. In addition, the agencies offer travel insurance in other to oversee cases like the one you explain in your comment. In another topic, to inform you also that restaurant reservations are open daily for a la carte dinner restaurants; In addition, there are additional options than the main restaurant, snack restaurant, pizzeria, and main restaurants in the neighbor resort, all of those without reservations required. Nevertheless, I feel again that these inconveniences have caused discomfort during your stay and in any case, I would have been delighted to have been able to attend you personally and help you make your stay more pleasant. Great place to stay. The staff is super friendly and helpful. My room had a ocean view with a private pool right outside my room and the price was totally worth it. The only down side was the food.
