Right on quiet beach. Great views.

Lifestyle Crown Residence Suites - All Inclusive

Not all that great!

Not a variety of food .... There was a huge flying roach in The room. And the drinks are nasty very cheap liquor.

Sosua by the Sea Boutique Beach Resort

The worse

This was my third time in The Dominican Republic and by far this was the worse vacation in that country that I have yet to experience. If you are traveling with your family, please go to another city like Puerto Plata or Punta Cana. Sousa is a place for single men looking to have a good time. The Hotel itself was terrible, the food, or lack there of, was appalling. The waiters acted as if you were bothering them when requesting an “all inclusive” service. They did not even supply the rooms with bottled water on a daily basis.

Velero Beach Resort

Nice Hotel BeachFront

We are arrived and were pleasantly welcomed by Victor the receptionist. He thoroughly explained the hotel, pool, and breakfast. He was very pleasant and provided me with my key. Parking is available in the side of the hotel. The bell boy helps with the bags. Our room was on a 3rd floor and the room view was spectacular. The room was very clean and the bed was super comfy. The bathroom was awesome, huge and modern. The room had a balcony with a view of the infinity pool and beach. This hotel is located on the quite side which I loved. You can walk on the beach to reach Oasis or other restaurants which are far enough not to hear the noise but close enough to walk. We had a tour in the morning before check out time. I notified Victor I was going on my tour just in case things got delayed before I had to checkout. Victor was very understanding and stated that it was ok if I was a little late. Of course we are on island time and it did. Checkout was speedy. The staff was super friendly and helpful. I would stay here again.

Puerto Plata hotels

San Felipe de Puerto Plata, the capital of the Dominican province of Puerto Plata, is famous for fabulous resorts, aerial tramways, amazing botanical gardens, 16th century architecture, museums, and world-class beaches. Puerto Plata hotels range from budget to top-class resorts such as the Playa Dorada and Costa Dorada, and guests have a bevy of activities to choose from including diving, windsurfing, hiking, safaris, and catamaran sailing.

Puerto Plata Quick Picks and Tips

Puerto Plata is home to some of the best convention facilities in the world including the Atlantic, Playa Dorada, Caribbean Village Club, Puerto Plata Village, Playa Naco, and the Sosua Convention Center.

Puerto Plata restaurants offer a wide array of dishes and mouthwatering local cuisine. Be sure to try the mashed platanos or Yuca. Guests in Puerto Plata Hotels should try Mi Bohio, an open-air restaurant serving excellent, fresh-from-the-grillsteak and seafood.

Major Point of Interest

The Spanish built San Felipe Fortin the 16th century to fend off pirates. It is the oldest standing structure and overlooks the statue of General Gregorio Luperon.

Travelers should try the Bon tropical fruit marmalades, Dominican sweets, and quality rums. Visit the bazaar-like Casa Nelson and Casa Colon shops in the Central Park.

Golf, diving, horseback riding, and fishing are all popular in Puerto Plata. Go for a round of golf at Playa Dorada's 18-hole Robert Trent Jones golf course or the Los Mangos nine-hole golf course. Serious golfers should also look into playing at the Playa Grande Golf Course.
