Very comforting. Beach was peaceful and nice. Employees were very kind and attending

The hotel does not qualify to be in Orbitz web site, the facility looks like is falling apart. The employees do not seems to be working in a positive attitude environment. The food served was way far below our expectation - and were not expecting much. My wife had some issues with the food where had to be medicated. The hotel did not provide free Wi-Fi and for the price paid for each day of service we had to go to the lobby or be at the pool, no way of getting the service in our room. Not even half way of our vacation, we end up finding a reservation in a different hotel (IberoStar) and canceling our stay at the Grand Paradise.

The staff is always wonderful. This is a great location and beautiful property.

Great food. In the weekend they give alot of seafood .lobster .salmon .ect alot of variety of foods.good dancers entertaiment.great staff make you feel at home

Staff is excelent. Food is good. Ammenities are horrible. information in front desk is weak noboby helped us to organize excursions. The beach area us beautiful.

Staff was not attentive, dining service was horrible. Disorganized hotel, trash by the pool and no entertainment.

The best thing about the Hotel is the staff. They were great! However, I booked an Ocean View suite and they gave me a pool view suite. They only provided one hand towel and one bath towel per day per person. So once you shower in the AM, your towels are wet the rest of the day. The soap and shampoo are practically non-existing. The food was better than average, but you need to pay for a safe key and Wi-Fi service. Also, they are constantly trying to sell you time-sharing units, which becomes annoying. I wouldn't go back.

reserved two rooms for four nights . FD staff not so helpful. all other staff great job. remote did not work .no hot water in the shower some days. good food and drinks.

I booked this hotel because it was suppose to be a 4 star hotel with remodeled rooms. The walls had cracks, the lighting in the room was minimal, the phone in the room did not work. I was given towels that should have been thrown away as they were ripped. In addition, I love going to the casino - another reason I chose this place only to arrive and be informed that the hotel was under renovation - What??? The front desk personnel were not the most polite folks. As for the entertainment and the staff at poolside, bar and restaurants, they were fantastic. The food was great each day. Our overall experience I give it a 7 but I won't be going back.

no fun... the breakfast is the same every day... food->not good at all

We experienced a great vacation. It was to celebrate our 35th wedding anniversary. Management and Staff were so accomodating and we enjoyed a relaxing time just taking it easy. We have been to this resort previously, as well as other Amhsa Marina Resorts and other Playa Doradas Hotels. We usually visit the Puerto Plata area three times a year and we have to say that Grand Paradise is one of the finest. They offer a large selection of food in the buffet and two specialty restaurants. The beds and pillows are very comfortable also. Many want to be super critical, but just go and have a great relaxing time and enjoy the experience.

I had a great time. I can't wait to go back. My wife and I did the dinner on the beach, and people were passing by taking our pictures as if we we celebrities or related to Obama.

Bed sheets were too small for the bed and falling off. Bathroom needed repairs but, needed three calls for the handyman to show up, to declare that he needed a part and will come back, which never happened. Music was too loud at night, with a whistling noise that pierced my ears. Reception staff not helpful, you need to "pull" an answer from them. I had stomach discomfort, as had many other customers, however, there was no attempt to help. Had to walk to doctor's office, who charged me $212 (US). All in all, I would not go back, nor recommend it to anyone.

the restaurants were terrible , staff would try to hustle you for every dollar. to have a safe in your room would cost 20 dollars a week, usually its standard in most resorts

The hotel was good, the staff were pleasant, BUT on the weekends from Friday at 3:00 pm to Sunday at 1:00 pm the hotel books all the vacant rooms to the locals, when the local guests are on the resort the vacationers are neglected as the hotel does not put on additional staff to handle the influx of guests and also the locals are rude to the staff and vacationers they butt in line they walk in front of you as if you were not even there, they walk into you and look at you as if you did something wrong and don’t have very good manners. Over all I would go back again but ensure I had plans on Friday Saturday and Sundays The food was so so if you like pork and Chicken as that was the primary lunch and dinner meals

The staff is what made our stay better but other than that hotel needs work. No food past a certain time and very limited food options. The activities were limited and the hotel needs more pool time. Pool closes too early and the jacuzzi is not even hot.

I really enjoyed my stay. The hotel is very family friendly. The works go out of your way to see that you have a good stay. The beach is beautiful, and the pool great. Dont have much on tv but who cares. I would have liked to do more activities but that was because of my short stay there not their falt.

I will be briefly describing this hotel:1- The staff most of them were annoying, every time when guests needs help with something the get mad. 2- They finish their breakfast at 10am, after that there is no way to get something to eat until 12:30 when they open the lunch buffet, which they made the same dishes for the 3 days that my girlfriend we went there.[...] In the Snack Bar they prepare the same over and over in the same way as their main restaurant does. I saw Hamburger the last day that I went there, but the rest it was just breads, cheese and ham. That's all that I need to say about this hotel, I won't recommend this hotel to anyone that I know.

I was not happy with this hotel I happen to meet a nice girl There and tried to bring her back to my room but the hotel wanted to charge me 140 usd they said I'm not allowed to bring anyone back. I paid all that money to do what I want and they won't more money very very unhappy

The resort is beautiful. Checking in was a breeze. The staff at the check in were friendly and the bell boy was helpful with the suitcases. The room was beautiful, huge bed with a balcony. They stock the little fridge with a gallon of water and a 20ounce sprite or coke. They only gave us one key which was fine because it was just me and my boyfriend, but if you're traveling with more people, i can see that being potentially annoying. The buffet restaurant is right by the beach. It was a beautiful view of the beach. Okay, let's talk food; good but not great. The a la cartes were good but not great, to me it seem to have the same flavors at the buffet; a la cartes not worth it. the appetizers and desserts served were the same as the buffet. The orange juice has to be tang, not fresh. The servers, bartenders super friendly. The entertainers, blue, blacky, etc, were amazing. They made this place fun with games, preparing shows for us. They are the heart and soul of grand paradise. They presented us with a show on the beach with fireworks, AMAZING!! There were no lifeguards on the beach so it was a bit scary but the water is beautiful, barely any waves. There were no umbrella's set out on the beach so, wear sunscreen or you will get burn. You can sit under some trees to get some shade, but you don't get a good view of the beach even though you are on the beach. The pool closed at 7pm and both my boyfriend and I were a bit upset about this. We stayed 7 days. After the 5th day, we were sick and tired of the food. The casino is terrible, so itsy bitsy small. There's a movie theater at the plaza which is outside of the resort. Ohh, also there's the yellow shirt guys who try to get you to join their royal vacation club. We sat thru the presentation, told them we couldn't afford it. They can be a bit annoying. They activities they have are worth it. I loved kayaking. We did the dune buggy's-not worth it. They need to fix the dune buggy's, too many people's buggy's kept breaking down and we had to wait for sometimes 15 mins at a time. it was annoying. We both got traveler's diarrhea during the last two days there. Overall, good trip. Will not be returning anytime soon. This was my first vaca/resort trip. Now i know what i want.
