I had one of the worst experiences at Iberostar Resort in Puerto Plata. During my stay, I found a bed bug on the bed in my room. This is completely unacceptable for a resort that claims to be of high standard. Finding something like this made me feel uncomfortable, unsafe, and ruined what was supposed to be a relaxing vacation. Cleanliness and hygiene should be the top priority in any hotel, especially one that advertises itself as a luxury resort. I reported the issue, but the situation left me extremely disappointed. For the price and reputation of this brand, I expected much better. Unfortunately, I cannot recommend this resort and will not be returning.

The atmosphere and food at Iberostar Costa Dorada were definitely highlights—great flavors and a lively, welcoming vibe throughout the resort. However, my experience was marred by some frustrating logistical issues. Despite booking seven rooms, none were ready upon arrival, and the staff seemed to delay with vague explanations rather than offering clear solutions. Later, the room doors inexplicably stopped working, and we were told it was due to maintenance on the key system—though no prior notice was given. These hiccups made what could’ve been a seamless stay feel unnecessarily stressful. Regardless I had a great time- also I enjoyed the reasonably priced excursions

The staff was polite and attentive. The resort doesn't use plastic bottles so they provide two glass bottles in the room that you can fill with ice and "filtered" water in the hallways throughout the resort. I recommend taking lots of mosquito repellent and after bite since the resort does have a high number of mosquito through the resort including in the room "granted having a garden view room didn't help either". The food wasn't the best- not much of a big selection option.

The checking in process was very uncomfortable. We were taken into a separate office, asked to produce identification for all, social security numbers etc. under the pretense that it was for checking in and then then give you some documents to sign, which I refused. Disliked: Cleanliness, staff & service, amenities, property conditions & facilities
The hotel room gad a strong paint smell and i had to request a change of room. Then the other room the ac was poor and the room was hot. I went three times and no request was made from the customer at the front desk until i went and made a complaint. It took them 24 hours so they send the person in charge. Not a good experience
