We got really sick due to the food or water. The room was clean but looks a little outdated. The manager's at the front desk name Grabriella was very nasty when ask for late check out due to my mom being very sick. the staff was very nice. But this resort is a 2 star. The premise was clean and taking care of. The pool is somewhat small and the beach lounge chairs were mostly broken.

Pros:on a beautiful beach, friendly waiters, maid service and entertainment staff. They tried with fun interactive activities at the pool and at the beach. Grounds are nice and well maintained. Cons:the food was horrible, contaminated water, our family got severe stomach problems. The plastic cups used are not cleaned properly. The front desk staff was rude, mean and nasty. We asked for a late check for my 78 year mom since she was very sick and they said the would get security to escort her out. Chairs on the beach were broken, not enough towels, no conditioner in rooms, the rooms were outdated. The electricity went out 4 times we were in pitch darkness. The pool area is outdated and small.

I think the only thing this place has going for itself, is the staff. If you're trying to work and need internet. There is none. Well they say in the lobby, but when u have many people trying to use the bandwidth, not going to happen. The food is subpar. To many people trying to go thru the same line. Takes 30 minutes at times and depends at what time, 30 minutes to get a plate of pasta. The water in my room was dirty for three days. Went to complain and the front desk says there was nothing they could do. Then on check out, they would not let the Uber driver in the gate to pick me up. Instead, i had to walk all the way to the gate with my luggage. I asked if they could take me and my luggage and up to the gate, they stated no, they do not do that. Will never ever stay here again.

This resort is the best in Puerto Plata. I have had the pleasure to go to many of them in the area and Playa Dorada. This one has everything i mean EVEYHING!!! Mainom is the perfect Location is 25 minutes from the POP Airport 35 Minutes to Santiago 45 to Las Vegas 30 minutes to Luperon. The resort is super clean and very very safe. the beach is shared with Senator Resort. sunrises and sunsets are a MUST DO!!! From Friday to Sunday it get packed with locals and that's is the best part of the trip. you get to share and meet couples and family also with loud kids LOL from the country and it feels good to be around your Dominican Brothers & Sisters. The Food is amazing fresh all day and delicious and the staff makes you feel at home. Dulce Rosario Ramon Eduardo Batista Gabriela and the ladies that makes the shakes are the best!!!. I have gone every 4 months in the past 3 years and i love this place . my son learned how to walk and run in this resort thanks you Playa Bachata you are the best. "Playa Bachata es mi segunda casa"

We arrived a couple of hours before check-in and were turned away at the main gate. No other hotel that we have visited in the past has done that. Once we were allowed to check in, it became a hard sell to get us to upgrade to the VIP Senator portion of the resort. Rooms were outdated and while the cleaning staff did their best, the roaches still thrived. Weekends are crowded and there are long lines at the buffet. Flies abound the dining area is all open so this can't be avoided.They claim six restaurants but only two are avilable unless you upgrade to VIP at the Senator. No wi-fi in the rooms, only in the main lobby and spotty at best. We did not even attempt to go into the pool... The only saving grace was the beach but even that could do with a little better maintenace. Rent or buy something that can rake the seaweeds away from the sand. Shelf liquor not of good quality. they were generic bottles with no name brands. My advice is to either renovate or shut down the old part of the resort. Maybe just concentrate on the Senator. It looks nice from the outside but I couldn't speak to its service and dining since we weren't allowed in the other 4 restaurants. Not recommended.

Totally not worth the $304 I payed!! If I could give a 0 stars I would! Too much noise late at night. Food was absolutely disgusting!! Drinks have to be bought and were not worth the price. Staff and people holding the bread with their bare hands. Kitchen utensils were dirty. This place should either be shut down, renovated and hire staff with a sense of hospitality. Room was dirty, toilet was yellow and dirty, bathtub smell disgusting and whole room could benefit from a good renovation since everything is outdated.

After reading negative reviews we were worry But, we were actually blown away in how beautiful this hotel was. Front desk staff Yandra was amazing!, hotel personnel in general were very accommodating and pleasing. Buffet staff Ramon and Moises were amazingly accommodating and making sure we had everything we needed. Fabio at the pool bar we'd nicknamed him"papà" very pleasant and kind always had our cups full. Hotel rooms very amazing comfortable and super clean. Great air-conditioning. Room cleaning services was awesome always left a nice decore in our bed and curtains. His hotel has a partner Senator which is lovely as well.

Title: Worst Resort Ever – Traumatizing Experience at Playa Bachata! This place was absolutely horrible! I don’t even know where to start. The room was disgusting — AC didn’t work, fan didn’t work, toilet barely flushed, and everything felt hot and dirty. The pool was filthy and there was only ONE pool open for everyone. The beach was dirty, and it just felt like nobody cared about keeping this place clean. The food was nasty, drinks were disgusting, everything tasted spoiled or watered down. To make things worse, we saw huge roaches in our room and around the resort. That alone was enough to make me want to leave. But the worst part — my daughter got stung by a sea urchin at the beach. The so-called doctor at the resort was so money hungry and unprofessional, using a needle to pull out four sea urchins from her toes right there like it was nothing. No proper care, no compassion, just attitude and greed. My daughter was crying and scared, it was traumatizing to watch. This resort is a complete nightmare. Do not waste your money or time here. I wouldn’t stay here again even if it was free. Playa Bachata is the WORST resort ever.
