Nice and clean resort! Great if you're going with your family! Not much to do at night though! Staff is okay but some need more training specially a guy at the front desk which wasn't helpful when you asked him a question and was rude enough to talk in the phone while ignoring you! Not pleasant at all! Oh I can't forget the locals selling you all kind of things as soon as you step out of the resort to go the beach, they appeared like flies!

I will never stay at this hotel. 1 they do not follow the currency exchange rate. 2 i was given a room with no AC then moved to a room that was bigger but horrible location. 3 they keep loud music playing till 3 am everyday i couldn't sleep and had to be up for activities 7am everyday. 4 food sucked the buffee was bad quality and for decent food you needed to make reservation in the early AM for dinner. 5 No free WiFi outside of the lobby and the prices sucked. 6 harrased by sales man for time shares. 7 gift shop was over priced for bad quality. 8 customer service was fine but all they asked when i made a complaint was how can i make it better but nothing was done other than a late check out. Im not going to this or any other hotel associated with the company brand.

Hotel is located right on the beach which was nice. Staff was very friendly and helpful. When it rains it tends to flood. Rooms were ok had trouble sleeping because of disco night downstairs . Hotel offers a small fitness center .

For a first vacation, this was a nice hotel. Great value, decent staff and beautiful place in Mexico. Would definitely go there again.

First time stayin at the Windham Hotel. The staff was very friendly and went above and beyond to accommodate my needs. Thank you!

I booked as a single person. The room was small, quiet,,adaquet. AC was ice cold the first night but faltered the next 6. I complained but with no repair. My shower was slow then clogged totally. They did return it to slow but had to take a military shower so as not to overflow the pan. I was told that the place was full so no other alternative room was available. The food was OK but I did eat out with friends a couple nights for a great dinning experience at Ally surf camp resteraunt. The couple I traveled with had a spacious room with ice cold air and functional shower. I go there to kitesurf and the conditions were exceptional for the sport!

The hotel itself was nice. The all inclusive is nothing spectacular. Average buffet food. The liqiour is terrible. It is below well. So dont expect much with that. The beach and pool is very nice and clean. As was our room and the maids were nice and trustworthy. The guest services lady Romana was super helpful. Tons of kite boarders. There is NOOOOO nightlife there. But for relaxing and getting sun its a good deal.

Advice for first time visitors to the DR. 1. Never take any prices as given. You must haggle, and you must be vigilant. 2. The 'free activities' at the resort are merely there to get you to book your trip. For example, windsurfing and catamarans are only available at 10 and 11 am each day - but the wind doesn't pick up till around 1pm. 3. Once you are there they will try to get you to book other activities. These are ridiculously overpriced. 4. Everyone in the DR is hustling. Just be aware of that. 5. Get off the resort. Taxi's are expensive, but car rentals are cheap (bring a gps or a detailed map), and there are some really cool places to go explore. 6. You will probably get some sort of mild food poisoning. Everyone in our party got a little sick, two of five were out for at least 2 days. It's not just the resort food, but pretty much everywhere. 7. Drink bottled water. See 6.

Everything was amazing! Resort staff were amaingly friendly and extremely helpful. Best all inclusive package out there. Not a moment to waste so there's so much to do! Definitely going back!

The one thing that impressed me the most was the food. Absolutely amazing offering in the breakfast, lunch and dinner buffetts. You get about 20 different options that change daily, huge dessert trays and great entrees. Also the beach access is unbeatable. some tips: if you go kiting, take the ocean view room so you have place for you gear to dry and watch the water for what kite to use rememeber to carry lots of 100pesos bills to use for tips. tip 100 pesos at a time only to the best service people and you will be golden

Having the Wyndham name, I expected a great place...it was average. There was NO hot water in our room for 2 days. The staff happily changed our room to one with warm water. Though all inclusive, the food was average and the mixed drinks were undrinkable. The staff, on all accounts, was amazing and eager to please. The vendors hovering just off the property where unbearable, begging you to buy junky jewelry or get your hair braided. Pool was good and beach was great, if a little windy. Best part of the place was the cool bars a short walk down the beach.

The resort was located off a main street. There were limited parking for vehicles. The over flow parking was located down the street behind a restaurant. The room was very small. The online photos do not depict the small room. Movement within the room was limited and the bed took up most of the space. I did not stay at the facility.

We uad a very bad experience going to this resort.

Viva Wyndham was a great resort located in the beautiful Caberete Beach. The food was great, the staff are friendly and the entertainment was incredible. There is a wonderful show every night that will captivate your senses and make you want more!

We stayed at the resort for 6 days 5 nights and enjoyed every minute! The staff was excellent and our rooms were clean - drinks were fine (wish the cups were bigger) but overall we had a great experience. The excursions that were offered were outstanding as well. We did an Outback Safari tour and a snorkeling tour to Paradise Island and we recommend both!

The Hotel itself is good !! Staff are really professional, location is amazing, nice beach, nice pool, nice food and drinks, I have no complain, nice break!.. once you arrived at the lobby your first impression will be like this is a horrible place but once they take you back there, its amazing, I will definitely go back there for my next vacation. make sure to buy a sun cream because its hot over there, also, ala carte restaurants are amazing make sure you make reservation. Really good place! I don't understand why many people write bad reviews about this place, its amazing and cheap. I think is worthy, the service you get is nothing compare with what you get. RECOMMENDED 100%.... OHH one last thing, people offering membership are not that bad if they approach you selling you membership and you tell them you're not interested, they'll leave you alone with a smile face.

The grounds and the beach are beautiful. Rooms were cleaned very well daily. Food and drinks were pretty good for an all inclusive. We went on a jeep safari and waterfall day trip. That was well worth the money! We booked this through the resort.

Our family of 6 spent 13 days at the Viva Wyndham Tangerine and overall would recommend to others!!! However, the first impression was less than stellar. We had reserved / confirmed "superior ocean view rooms." The "initial" rooms we were given did have an ocean view, which was ok, but the rooms were dingy / musty and the A/C sounded like a jet engine. After discussing this with the front desk they quickly moved us to what I would consider "superior ocean view rooms" which were VERY nice. The location is great, staff was entertaining and the food was ok. Again, would recommend to others as a good destination. Not disappointed.

very awesome ...the hotel was fun all the time i am 29 no family had a blast i will go back

Mytrip supposedly included a special offer of a free 30 minute introductory kite boarding lesson. I went to reception to ask about redeeming it and they ssent me to guest services; guest services sent me to the water sports counter; the water sports workers sent me to the kiteboarding school next door; and the school sent me back to the "closed" water sports counter. I never got my 30 minute introductory lesson. The kids club is a room that is about 12'x14'ft and has one small TV in in and a few drawers with paper and paints. There is a swingset outside and a foosball table. Entertainment activities are the same every day--the only thing that changes are the nightly show at the Viva Theater (on property) and the buffet theme. The night of the Dominican buffet (Saturday?) they hold a market where you can by goodies outside the buffet hall. Make sure you tip at the buffet beginning your first time there because otherwise service will be WAYYY subpar--especially if you get Rolando in the main dining area. Each time you dine at their only non-reservation restaurant you sit at a different table and several different people attend your table. There is only the buffet for breakfast and lunch...and dinner--unless you have reservations for the Mexican restaurant or the Italian restaurant. There is also an Italian restaurant on the property that you can pay to eat at. (I only saw workers there--never people eating). There are two pools and the animation staff is nice.and fun. At the one drink bar that opens at 10am I recommend the non-alcoholic drinks...there is no name brand alcohols that I could see--and you could tell by the flavor of the alcoholic drinks. Overall, the hotel was nice, we only had one cockroach in our room (kid left dirty clothes on floor) and a couple ants (open sugar). Do not let them put you in a room over the buffet, unless smell is not something that bothers you.
