My wife and I went for an My wife and I went for a quick weekend getaway to celebrate her birthday.
Our stay had several issues that made it disappointing. Room service never arrived on our first night, and our door wristband rarely worked on the first try. There was a loud leak inside the wall we could hear from the bathroom, and construction outside our balcony made it hard to relax.
We were pressured into a 90-minute travel package/timeshare presentation. We walked out after saying we weren’t interested, and although they had promised a free spa package, they refused to give it to us because we didn’t stay for the full presentation.
Both my wife and I became extremely sick after eating the same meal and had to spend an entire day in our room. The toilet only flushed once every few hours, and even though we requested maintenance, no one came. The beach was also covered in seaweed during our stay, which I completely understand is out of their control.
On a positive note, the staff was very nice and polite. Gladys, one of the bartenders, was absolutely amazing and truly made our vacation feel special. We also had a great snorkeling trip with Tony and his crew from the glass-bottom boats—they were fantastic and the highlight of our trip.
