a lot of people in need. I know city and citizens are helping them. Maybe more police involvement would help better. beautiful city beautiful people

Beautiful stylish hotel with friendly staff who went above and beyond to help make our stay perfect!

The hotel was beautiful and I loved the historic character.

Really enjoyed the location of being downtown. We really felt like everything revolved around the Sentinel in town. It was our beacon when exploring. We were a little disappointed because the pictures indicated that there was a fire pit on the roof of the hotel. That we believe was only for certain guests who had those kinds of rooms. Other than that, very nice hotel. We were into the modern feel of a building in a building that has historically been there for awhile. We would come back here

Great hotel in a great location. Got upgraded to a King bed. Loved their eco approach.

I came with my husband and two 5 yo kids. It was so amazing! The service was as top notch as it gets. The staff was friendly and really wanted to help make our stay the best! You can essentially walk to or take the street car anywhere you want to go in the city! Highly recommend!!

Rooms with doors that connect to the next room exist, so if you don't like those (and I don't), make sure you specify in advance. I asked for a switch as soon as I saw, and the front desk could not have been more helpful!! I had a great stay for three nights.

Perfect downtown location walking distance to wonderful shops & restaurants. Great afternoon cocktails at Jackknife or Jake's

I enjoyed my stay at the Sentinel and will stay there again. The hotel is centrally located, the rooms are big and well-appointed, and the staff is friendly and helpful.

I was expecting a 4 stat hotel experience based on the information online. It is not. The lobby was narrow and long, there are chairs but definitely not a comfortable place to wait and sit. Our room was very small, dark and noisy - next to the train track, it was noisy at night when train goes by. The air conditioning was also super loud. we booked hotel through Orbitz, the full amount was paid through website including tax and fees, however when we check out, the front desk said there were extra charges for using coffee, tea or other facilities in the room - aren’t coffee and tea free in most hotels? I did use one tea bag, oh plus shampoo and little soap bar in the bathtub, I guess that was included in that “extra fees”. Speaking of facilities, the stand up vanity Mirror was broken, the facility was cheap and the little metal table in the bathroom had obvious rusty stain on it. The hairdryer was loud but not enough heat. I would say this is a 2.5 Star hotel trying to have a vintage look to it. Overall I wasn’t happy, definitely I won’t come back.

This hotel has everything and more then what I was expecting

This is one of the best hotels I have ever stayed at. The staff was great-helpful and friendly. The room was awesome-well layed out and comfortable. The location was perfect-great access to restaurants and shopping.

The room was not especially great--long and narrow, with a single small window at one end looking out on an airshaft. It was cave-like and a place you would not want to spend much time. That said, the king-size bed was exceptionally comfortable, the room was well decorated and the bathroom was nice. I often feel that when you make a reservation of Orbitz, the hotel gives you the worst room. This was a case in point.

We arrived before the 4:00pm check in. Had to wait at least 2 hours for a room. They said we would get a call, we never did. Had to ask again about a room. We did get an upgrade to a king bed.

We had a really nice stay here. Everyone was very friendly and rooms were quiet and clean. There was just a lack of communication as we checked in. Other than that, wonderful stay.

The hotel itself has retained its elegance, even while keeping a hip feel. The public spaces and rooms were very nice and the Jackknife bar had a great, lively atmosphere. Many hotels feel insulated from the town they are in. The Sentinel is nicely integrated into the cityscape.

The hotel was very nice. It's a bit pricey but very nice. Great staff and service. Great location to downtown Portland. I could walk to everything. Located on rail system from airport. Bar and restaurant on site. Starbucks on site. Portland is a great city and amazing people. You should go!

This is a great hotel in a great location, wonderful glamorous rooms. Good value for money. The staff was excellent, especially the front desk. The hotel bar attached in the lobby is also very charming. Enjoyed every part of the hotel and recommend to anyone staying in Downtown Portland!

Hello REReviewer! Thank you for staying with us at Sentinel in Portland! We appreciate you taking the time to provide the hotel positive feedback on your recent stay and we are happy to hear that we were able to exceed your expectations! I am very sorry about the confusion about the fire pits as they are indeed only for terrace rooms (either the studio terrace suits or the executive terrace rooms). Thank you for your time and we hope to see you again soon!
