Honest opinion here. Positives: nice staff, location and amenities like fire pit, little lake area. First floor easy for dogs to go out and potty so that was nice. Nice breakfast, coffee soso. Negatives: Needs updating, ice cold pool but it is November, we think the giant bug we had in bathroom was a cockroach, pest control was there spraying the day before, floor was sticky and dirty. No dedicated dog relief area with nice grass they kept getting burs in their paws. Would we stay again probably not but is good if you travel with dogs. They are very dog friendly which is hard to find.

Very cute adequate hotel. Nice staff, clean. Great location except for the VERY loud outside bar establishment on the east side of hotel..... Bring ear plugs in case you have a room on that side.... Noise goes on past one o'clock for sure.

family beach vacay

Pool area was great and having the bay right out back with kayaks and paddle boards was such a fantastic treat! Breakfast included, eggs, meat, toast, oatmeal, grits and a make your own waffle are. The only negative was that there was some black mold in the ceiling (maybe to be expected at the beach?). My throat hurt pretty badly since I am highly allergic to mold. On our last day, we got a surprise when the Blue Angels flew over! Amazing location in walking distance to beach and boardwalk.

I have stage four terminal cancer. We had to check out a day early the mold under the AC unit was absolutely disgusting. I had to pull the ice box out and microwave to clean underneath. I just pray this has not been detrimental to my health. I have been on so many vacations and this was the most disgusting hotel I have ever been to. You advertise this wrong your pictures lied.

For the price, I would recommend and stay here again. Our room was clean and had what we needed. Nothing more. This is most definitely a bare minimum hotel. But the convenience of the location, the free bike, kayak and paddle boards…it’s worth it. Breakfast was a bit chaotic. But something for everyone. I think our favorite part was the sandy vintage beach hotel feel. We would take that any day over a fancy overpriced stay. Thanks Surf and Sand! We hope to be back soon

Great spot, priced right & very comfy. Located close to the beach & the boardwalk. All kinds of dining & shopping options within walking distance of the hotel. Room was very clean & well decorated. Bed was very comfortable. Have stayed here before & it's my favorite place to stay when at Pensacola Beach.
