Staff was ok. Helpful when asked for help. Rooms are good. Bad water pressure in shower but very clean. No storage space so have to keep everything in your suitcases/bags. Nice quiet rooms. No neighbor or street noise. Easy walking distance from parks or have Art bus stop right out front. Nice pool.
Close to Disney, good value overall but several issues that make me give this a mediocre rating. Some of the staff at front desk didn't seem like they wanted to be there. The managers were good but it was hard to get a smile out of the rest of them, sad. Rooms while seem renovated still have a cheap motel feel to them both look and odor. The proximity to Disney is the key and not spending much time in the hotel. If you are just looking for a simple place to sleep and eating outside the hotel it's a decent choice.
The Red Lion is within walking distance to the front gate of Disneyland, with a "dart" bus stop out front and within a 5 minute walk to the "Disney" free shuttle parking lot. The Hotel staff were always nice and very helpful. The hotel offered free breakfast....that's true, but it seemed to be offered through a third party, which forced you to fill out vouchers every day for everyone in your party causing a LONG delay...finally many of the guests like us just left and did not use the free breakfast
Great location, nice rooms, friendly front desk staff, great pool. Restaurant/bar staff understaffed so long wait for drinks, but otherwise wonderful service.
The hotel is a little dated. However, the staff were great and the hotel was surprisingly quiet. The room was a bit dated with old furniture but managed to make it comfy.
Nice hotel. Closer to Disneyland then I thought which was a pleasant surprise
It is always an enjoyable stay and suits our needs. The rooms are clean, staff is polite and professional. The rooms are somewhat compact but the comfort and cleanliness are worth it.
This was the worst hotel we have ever stayed in! First off, the room was dingy and dirty. The shower had water damage and mold. Housekeeping only came twice in the 8 days we stayed there. When we checked in we were charged an additional $40 per night as a "security deposit" even though the hotel had been paid in full. We were also over charged $124 from the price Orbitz gave us. The room above us must have been on their honeymoon because we could hear EVERYTHING all night long. It was impossible to get any sleep. Also, Orbitz said breakfast was included and when we went to the restaurant the first morning the lady told us (not very nicely) that it would be $11.95 per person and that there was no way breakfast would have been included. Orbitz also said the room had a refrigerator but it did not. The wifi was very slow and kept disconnecting from our phones. So frustrating! The second to last night our room keys quit working so we had to wait in line at the front desk for 30 minutes at 11 at night to get new keys. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone!! Especially for the price!
I always stay at this hotel when I go to Disneyland. It's right next to the Disneyland parking lot AND next door to a Walgreens which is very convenient! Also next door to an IHOP! Aside from the hotel charging $40 per night on top of the hotel rate (which you get back at checkout) and charging $15 a night for parking I highly recommend staying here!
We had a clean and comfortable room, with a view of the San Gabriel mountains. We could also see the Disneyland fireworks at night! Pretty easy walk to Disneyland, and convenient location. Nice, but small fitness center and good outdoor pool which we saw families enjoying even in February. We got a deal with the breakfast included in our room rate, and the breakfast was first-rate. Overall one of the best hotels we've stayed in near Disneyland, and we would stay there again.
Beds were awful. Pillows were even worse. Hotel entrance/lobby looked nice but rooms weren't anything special.
Room was outdated and felt dirty. The shower drain was clogged and backed up when showering. The keurig coffee pot water was dirty. And the refrigerator didn't work.
Stayed at other hotels near Disney that were cheaper but better. I was expecting more from Red Lion was disappointed. Hair dryer didn't work, mom couldn't get coffee maker to work, breakfast was not free and nothing showed the price so a bit of a surprise when we just expected to grab something quick on our way out to Disney, but that could be chalked up to my mistake for not double checking prior to booking. Overall just disappointed and will not be staying at this hotel again. Staff was nice enough though.
The hotel is only nice from the outside & lobby. As soon as you go into the hallway rooms and inside the room, it's like a time machine that leads you back in the early 70s. The room has a funky smell, the sheets and pillows as well. I woke up with a bug bite on my face. First and last time I will book a room in this hotel.
Staff were extremely helpful and hotel was very nice
The staff is not friendly! I thought maybe it was just the person who checked me in, but at check out I got a different person & she was rude too! I also noticed that it wasn't just to me, they were rude to other guest as well. They need better customer service!!
Hotel has old carpet and smells pretty bad !! Hotel was very noisy late at night seemed like they had a party .
Checked into the room only to find the floor by the bathroom was soaking wet. Also one of the bed frames was broken, and the bed was leaning to one side so was not flat. The next day when checking out, I asked the person at the check-out counter to please call me a taxi to the airport. The response was that due to the marathon that was going on that day, no taxi's could get into the area. I asked her what should I do to get to the airport, and her response was, "I have no idea." Then another staff member came up and said I could walk about two blocks to the Denny's to catch a shuttle, they are there every 15 minutes and I don't need a reservation. So here I go walking to the Denny's, with all my luggage in tow, only to find out there is no shuttle. I called the shuttle and they advised me that they do NOT go there every 15 minutes, and you can NOT get on without a reservation. They gave me the number for a taxi company, which promptly sent a taxi within 10 minutes. So needless to say, both of the hotel staff members couldn't have cared less if I made it to the airport in time for my flight.
Hotel was really nice & comfortable. We would stay here again. Lots of parking too. Hotel staff could be a little more friendlier but overall it was a great place to stay.
