Staff was wonderful and very helpful. Room was pretty small and had an odor to it. Lobby looked brand new, while room was dated and dirty.

We booked this room for two nights and were very pleased with the room. It had everything we needed and felt very clean. The carpet in the hallways seemed very new and clean. It was a handicapped accessible room. The bathroom had room enough for a wheelchair/walker and the shower was 0 entry (no tub and nothing to step over) with a large cushioned shower seat. The hotel is located off I-57, surrounded by many eating establishments and a mall/movie theater. It's about 20 minutes to Carbondale.

Check in was great and easy. The room was even ready a bit earlier than official check in. Clean room, comfy bed, plenty of space. Didn't spend a large amount of time in the room, but did manage to sleep without trouble due to the comfy bed and blackout shades.
Room was clean and quiet. Large bathroom. There were chaise lounge chairs on an outside patio for relaxing. I even got to see the great fireworks show at the baseball stadium next door. Breakfast was good. Room was spacious and bed was comfortable. Property was immaculate and I am pretty picky about stuff like that. Cracker Barrel nearby. Yea!

My daughter and were in town to attend an open house at SIU. This hotel was not the closest hotel to SIU, but I chose it based on reviews. It was very easy to get to SIU from here. The beds are very comfortable and the pillows are heavenly. I used the exercise room, which was small, but wasn't crowded both times I went in there. The breakfast was good for me, with hot oatmeal, my staple. My daughter, who is somewhat more selective, chose to skip the breakfast on the second day. We had a little bit of a problem with directions from various internet sources; it seems to be a somewhat new area. There was also a good deal of construction close to the hotel which made getting around a little bit challenging. When we had to stay another night unexpectedly due to bad weather, we chose the same hotel and they were able to accommodate us for a second night. All in all, very pleased with this hotel.
We stayed 2 nights at the Marion, IL Fairfield Inn and experienced excellent service with a high quality hotel. We will definitely stay at this hotel next time we are in Marion, IL. The staff including housekeeping are very customer focused and provide excellent service.
