Red Roof Inn & Suites Monee2.5 out of 5.0

I have stayed at most of the properties at the Monee exit of I-57, but after staying at the Red Roof, I believe it is the best of the lot. The building was a Holiday Inn Express that has been rebranded. HIE builds a good building and RRI has kept it up reasonably well. I had a king room with a work desk, love seat, and an island with sink, microwave, and mini fridge (working!) - it was just what I needed for a four day stay. I would have appreciated a few more choices for breakfast, but it was pretty much the standard for a place at this price point. The hotel is right along the freeway, but the entry is kind of tucked back in a residential area. The freeway noise was evident in the parking lot, but I didn't hear any of it in the building. I stayed in the front - the side away from the highway. As others have said, there are a number of eating places within walking distance. The area has two large truck stops and a truck wash. This may put some people off, but they make good neighbors.
We are here in town for ILA conference. Were searching for motel which is totally non smoking as one of my colleague is allergic to smoke and here we found one in Monee (Redroof Inn). Very convenient location for us, Next to highway. We checked in 2 days before as we want to explore places around and we got best suggestions from desk agent. Manager was there when we checked inn and he help us through a lot. On top of that, inside pool, free continental breakfast and high speed wifi are like "butter on bread".
Every time we came to visit family, we stayed here. Very nice. Expect for the last visit. I threw my cig pack out with used cigs from another venue that I didn't want to litter because there was no disposal at the time. I dumped them in the trash can at the front of the door of my room the day I departed. Only to find when I came home, they charged me an extra $62 because of "ashes" the housekeeper said she found (ummm they were freaking pieces of tobacco!) We were on the 1st floor next to the exit door where smoking was allowed. SO, why in the hell would I smoke in a room (when I don't even smoke in my own home) that is on the 1st floor just steps away from the exit to smoke? RAJ, you just lost a loyal customer and trust me, you will lose more for falsely claiming people for things of which they did not do, simply because your uneducated housekeeper(s) cannot distingush between an ash and tobacco, AND you only have ONE FREAKING TRASH CAN IN YOUR ROOM that you keep right at the front door! NOTE TO EVERYONE: do not place your discarded cig packs in the designated dispensers at Red Roof Inn because you will be charged FOR SMOKING!!!!!!!!! Best tip, stay on the 2nd or 3rd floor as I did in the past, you won't be accused of smoking on the 1st floor, next the door, where it is convenient to smoke. SMDH
Value-wise, it's one of the better options in the area around Hollywood Casino Amphitheatre, which is why we were staying in the area. Not as nicely updated as other Red Roofs I've been to and have therefore come to expect, however it's not gross or anything either. It does have a pool, breakfast, & the staff was friendly. I'd really say this was more of a 3.5 out of 5 so a 3 isn't totally fair but I couldn't bring myself to give it a 4. If you're looking for a decent place to stay & save some money, this works. It does allow pets too, which is nice for those travelling with pooches in tow.
This was a little hard to find but it was near the highway and had plenty of parking. I normally wouldn't choose a Red Roof Inn but nothing was available in Kankakee. It is a little run down and dirty in the common areas. I was very pleased with my room. It had a fridge, smoke free rooms, and put me outside of Chicago so I wouldn't be facing any morning rush hour traffic. It was a bit noisy. The breakfast was the most dismal of the typical carbs with maybe eggs, yogurt or some fruit. Possibly because I came at the end. I chose not to eat anything. But it wasn't a bad place to stay overall. The price was very reasonable.
I was very satisfied with this hotel. Recently remodeled. The pool is small but it was warm and the shallow end is 3 ft which was great for my young children. Breakfast consisted of the usual waffles, cereal, muffins, yogurt, toast, apples/bananas. Don't understand the previous reviewers comment about the location. This hotel is adjacent to a newer subdivision. There are a couple of restaurants within walking distance. It's right off the highway. If you're looking for a hotel where you can jump on the L and go to Chicago this is probably too far out of town for that. It's in a perfectly reasonable location for a travelers hotel. Big shot out to Jasmine- excellent service. Draft saved at 7:16 PM.
Do now go here it is old and outdated if I had to stay there any length of time I would have gone somewhere else. The rooms were okay but the location was very bad. The breakfast was unacceptable we went somewhere else.
The staff is very friendly. This hotel was very clean, the bed was very comfortable. This hotel is pet friendly. Very reasonably priced. I would definitely stay here again. Small indoor pool. Workout room. If you like staying at Hampton inns, tryout this one. They are very similar.
Free wifi, free breakfast, an exercise room and a pool. Friendly service. The pool is quite small and there is no hot tub or sauna but I don't use them any way. Make your own waffle for breakfast or have a bowl of cereal. Yogurt, hard boiled eggs and toast and bagels also available. Domino's Pizza delivers here until 1am on Friday and Saturday nights.
