We booked and paid in full in advance. When we arrived receptionist asked for a credit card. Assumed it was for incidentals. When we got home had been charged twice for the room. Took 2 international telephone calls to get a refund. The room looked tired and had an odd smell. Like stale tobacco. The bathroom was very worn and I dread to think what the stains on wall opposite the toilet were. The extractor fan was disgusting. The towels were grey and crispy. Breakfast room was very small. Ended up eating ours by the pool with a load of men already on alcohol at 8.30am and the language! Glad we didn't have the grandkids with us. Would not have liked them using the pool. Overall not what I would expect from part of the Marriott change.
We stayed here one night while passing through Mobile and to see the USS Alabama battleship. Hotel was located right outside of the city with easy access to many restaurants and department stores, if needed. Room was comfortable and included a kitchen to cook and store food in a full size refrigerator. Breakfast was included and was simple eggs, toast, pastry, oatmeal, etc. Property also included a pool and fitness room and free WiFi. Overall good hotel for the money.
My husband and I originally booked 1 night at Days Inn Mobile on our way to Pensacola for our anniversary weekend. Days Inn was DISGUSTING & we did not stay, but got our money back and found this hotel. The staff and property were so nice that we ended up staying the whole weekend there in Mobile. The property is well kept and the rooms are very clean. The complimentary breakfast included a wide variety of items and was delicious. The staff was very knowledgeable about things to do, places to eat, etc. They were the friendliest and most helpful hotel staff I have encountered in a while. Overall amazing experience. Definitely would stay again and recommend to anyone.
We decided to have a small family reunion in Mobile and needed a hotel to accommodate multiple family members. The Towneplace Suites offered 2-bedroom suites, perfect for families. The bedrooms are roomy, and a full kitchen and living space was perfect for our needs. The staff was professional and very friendly. The morning breakfast offered many options to accommodate all tastes. I would certainly recommend this hotel and I would stay here again. I would have given them 5 stars had the pool been a bit more private.
My wife and I stayed here one night in May 2017. We were very warmly welcomed at reception by Janice, who provided excellent dinner recommendations. Our room (113) was very clean and comfortable. Parking is free and easy. Breakfast (also free/included) was basic, but fresh and tasty. We would definitely stay here again. As an aside, the gas station across the road had the cheapest fuel we saw in the FL, GA, SC, and AL area! Please give me a "Helpful" vote if my review has informed you. Thank you.
Stay the night just to get some rest. Room had a very distinct smell to it still cannot figure out what it is. Smile like someone had smoked in here and it was cleaned out. Bathtub has standing water in it, neighbors were slightly noisy, and breakfast was truly small. Toilet was found to be loose, pillows were nice, bed decent. Kitchen amenities were on par with a suite. Not bad but not great.
We stayed for one night for a break from our roadtrip. I called around 1pm that day to confirm my special requests which were a room away from the elevator and a crib. The employee did confirm. We arrive and get the room. They did give us a free upgrade to a 2 bedroom suite BUT there was no crib in the room! What is my toddler going to do with a queen bed? I called down and the pack and play was delivered immediately without sheets. And the front desk lady handed it to me to set up. I'm 8 months pregnant- Seriously!!! Also in the room is a kitchen which is great if your staying there for a long time but the stove dials are within reach of your toddler and they can easily turn them on. Definitely not safe!!! The night was okay. When we woke in the morning we did their Continental breakfast which was very minimal. I could barely fit in the area to get food. There is no way that it is handicap accessible. And there are NO HIGHCHAIRS OR BOOSTER SEATS!!! This hotel is not very child friendly at all and we wouldn't stay here again.
I recently stayed here in a two bedroom suite with my family. We loved the space and the kitchen. The staff were helpful and readily accommodated my request for a new room. If you do not like second hand smoke this is not the place for you. This hotel seems to be the accommodation of choice for work crews who are temporarily located in the Mobile areas. These gentlemen congregate at the entrances to the hotel and smoke. This means that the ground floor rooms near the entrances smell like smoke and you end up smelling like smoke as you have to walk by them. Perhaps this was just bad luck and it may be different another time of year but I would not stay here again for this reason.
I was able to check in online and request a ground floor room which De Loris took care of promptly. Upon arrival around 4PM I was able to go straight to my room. The room was nice...nothing special but it was clean and well stocked. They have an nice workout room, small outdoor pool and basic breakfast. This hotel is located within easy access to the interstate and some very nice restaurants. Not bad for the price and was decent place for my travels!
Stayed here on two separate occasions this month. Both times check in was fast and friendly. Room was clean and spacious. Breakfast was okay but nothing special. Loved the location close to Airport Blvd and restaurants but far enough off the main road that it was very quiet at night. Only oddity is that the hotel is divided into two separate buildings so if you are in the second building you have to cross a small parking lot to have breakfast - not bad really unless it is cold or rainy. With that considered, I would definitely stay again.
