We enjoyed our stay. The staff was very nice and helpful; the breakfast was filling (though they were having issues with the milk and some yogurt being spoiled –the main fridge may need repair); the room was exactly what we needed (2 bedrooms, bath, living area, kitchen with appliances and dishes). The bathroom sink water pressure was not working well, but since we had the kitchen sink it wasn’t much of an issue. The visitor’s sheet map that you could take with you was also helpful; we used it to visit some shops downtown. Overall a very nice visit to AL to see my aunt thanks to TownePlace Suites.
We stopped here for one night. We registered on line for a two bed room for my wife, daughter and I. When we checked in we were told we were upgraded to a nicer room with a separate queen bed. The problem arose when we entered the room and realized there was only the “one” bed for the three of us. We checked the sofa to our luck it was a sofa sleeper.- we said this will work. Then the luck ran out. There were no spare sheets or blankets in the room for the sofa sleeper. I went to front office and explained the situation asked for some sheets and a blanket. I was told they were still being washed and none were available for another couple of hours. Keep in mind it was already 7:00 pm and we wanted to sleep early for a 5:00 am departure. We did not want to stay up until nine or ten that night. We ended up taking a sheet off of the queen bed and my daughter had her travel throw to cover up with. I am not sure what was going on but the hotel for our stay did not schedule/plan well. The staff was friendly-but not prepared.
We booked and paid in full in advance. When we arrived receptionist asked for a credit card. Assumed it was for incidentals. When we got home had been charged twice for the room. Took 2 international telephone calls to get a refund. The room looked tired and had an odd smell. Like stale tobacco. The bathroom was very worn and I dread to think what the stains on wall opposite the toilet were. The extractor fan was disgusting. The towels were grey and crispy. Breakfast room was very small. Ended up eating ours by the pool with a load of men already on alcohol at 8.30am and the language! Glad we didn't have the grandkids with us. Would not have liked them using the pool. Overall not what I would expect from part of the Marriott change.
We stayed here one night while passing through Mobile and to see the USS Alabama battleship. Hotel was located right outside of the city with easy access to many restaurants and department stores, if needed. Room was comfortable and included a kitchen to cook and store food in a full size refrigerator. Breakfast was included and was simple eggs, toast, pastry, oatmeal, etc. Property also included a pool and fitness room and free WiFi. Overall good hotel for the money.
My husband and I originally booked 1 night at Days Inn Mobile on our way to Pensacola for our anniversary weekend. Days Inn was DISGUSTING & we did not stay, but got our money back and found this hotel. The staff and property were so nice that we ended up staying the whole weekend there in Mobile. The property is well kept and the rooms are very clean. The complimentary breakfast included a wide variety of items and was delicious. The staff was very knowledgeable about things to do, places to eat, etc. They were the friendliest and most helpful hotel staff I have encountered in a while. Overall amazing experience. Definitely would stay again and recommend to anyone.
We decided to have a small family reunion in Mobile and needed a hotel to accommodate multiple family members. The Towneplace Suites offered 2-bedroom suites, perfect for families. The bedrooms are roomy, and a full kitchen and living space was perfect for our needs. The staff was professional and very friendly. The morning breakfast offered many options to accommodate all tastes. I would certainly recommend this hotel and I would stay here again. I would have given them 5 stars had the pool been a bit more private.
My wife and I stayed here one night in May 2017. We were very warmly welcomed at reception by Janice, who provided excellent dinner recommendations. Our room (113) was very clean and comfortable. Parking is free and easy. Breakfast (also free/included) was basic, but fresh and tasty. We would definitely stay here again. As an aside, the gas station across the road had the cheapest fuel we saw in the FL, GA, SC, and AL area! Please give me a "Helpful" vote if my review has informed you. Thank you.
Stay the night just to get some rest. Room had a very distinct smell to it still cannot figure out what it is. Smile like someone had smoked in here and it was cleaned out. Bathtub has standing water in it, neighbors were slightly noisy, and breakfast was truly small. Toilet was found to be loose, pillows were nice, bed decent. Kitchen amenities were on par with a suite. Not bad but not great.
We stayed for one night for a break from our roadtrip. I called around 1pm that day to confirm my special requests which were a room away from the elevator and a crib. The employee did confirm. We arrive and get the room. They did give us a free upgrade to a 2 bedroom suite BUT there was no crib in the room! What is my toddler going to do with a queen bed? I called down and the pack and play was delivered immediately without sheets. And the front desk lady handed it to me to set up. I'm 8 months pregnant- Seriously!!! Also in the room is a kitchen which is great if your staying there for a long time but the stove dials are within reach of your toddler and they can easily turn them on. Definitely not safe!!! The night was okay. When we woke in the morning we did their Continental breakfast which was very minimal. I could barely fit in the area to get food. There is no way that it is handicap accessible. And there are NO HIGHCHAIRS OR BOOSTER SEATS!!! This hotel is not very child friendly at all and we wouldn't stay here again.
I recently stayed here in a two bedroom suite with my family. We loved the space and the kitchen. The staff were helpful and readily accommodated my request for a new room. If you do not like second hand smoke this is not the place for you. This hotel seems to be the accommodation of choice for work crews who are temporarily located in the Mobile areas. These gentlemen congregate at the entrances to the hotel and smoke. This means that the ground floor rooms near the entrances smell like smoke and you end up smelling like smoke as you have to walk by them. Perhaps this was just bad luck and it may be different another time of year but I would not stay here again for this reason.
