The only nice thing about this hotel is it's location. The quality of the customer service/housekeeping is very disappointing. The amount of amenities is minimal and staff is not well trained/educated about the importance of customer service. Housekeeping staff is rude and disrespectful.

We recently visited this hotel 04/13 - 04-17. The hotel is a beautiful hotel and the "back yard" with the ocean in it is a GREAT view. The pier was amazing at sunset. The room was decent even though it needs to be repainted. Our sink had chipped paint in it and a few walls in the bathroom as well. The cleaning staff was very nice and friendly and made sure the rooms were stocked and cleaned. The front desk staff was nice and friendly and always willing to help until it came time for check out and we needed to speak with manager. The manager had "disappeared" basically and we almost missed our flight after being told he would be right back. The concierge desk was what we had a problem with. They helped us book an excursion for the alligator tour but failed to inform us that the bus ride would be 1 hour 45 mins there, not including picking up other people, and then another hour ride on another bus before getting to the destination. We basically wasted an entire day on a bus and we had other plans that day besides riding a bus all day. We were told to ready & outside at noon the bus didn't come until 1230 and we didn't return back to our hotel until 6pm. When we did return we got the run around as to who to talk too and the lady at the concierge desk was just rude and basically didn't care about what happened. So we wasted time and money. The hotel was suppose to have jet skiing in the back but within the time we were there we couldn't enjoy that because it wasn't available.

I stayed at this hotel for one day & night prior to a scheduled cruise. My experience was poor. The pool, lobby, and beach were all overcrowded. Kids were running rampant with little supervision and the hot tub probably 15 people when there should've been only 5. There were two people at the front desk trying to manage everything and were overwhelmed. They also charged a "resort fee" of $15, (2) beers at the bar cost $18 (18% gratuity on everything), beach chairs umbrellas and cabanas all have to be rented, and even to store you bags at the front desk before and after costs $5 / bag. I also ended up waiting for 10 minutes in the lobby for someone to assist me and talked to some other people who were equally disappointed. Also, a trip to the airport costs $64, I decided to take Uber for $40 instead. The interior hallways of the hotel looked very derelict, but the interior of the rooms were nice. The balconies are small and very close to another. The chairs on them are the cheapest lawn chair you can imagine, so watching the sunset (also because your neighbors conversation and person below you is playing music) to the sounds of the ocean was impossible. Lastly, I did not use the spa or restaurant as there were plenty of cheaper options nearby. In summary, I don't recommend this resort, spend the extra money and stay some place that values you.

Quality hotel, nice pool with a good restaurant. Right on the beach with a good beach hangout area and by the newport fishing pier. Overall good experience.

Great hotel, nice room with beautiful ocean view! Only problem I had on my 5 nights staying there was slow elevators (need more).

Beautiful scenery, but parking is not convenient. The lot is across a busy street that is hard to get to. If you have the $$ valet is probably your best bet considering it's only $5 more a day than doing it yourself. The elevators need work. 3 elevators. One was broken and the second one went out during a busy time. Found myself going up the stairs to the 9th floor :(. The room itself was beautiful and clean however the AC fan was malfunctioning and sounded like a truck engine. All in all a few minor technical improvements and this place would be perfect. The staff made up for the shortcomings of the facility.

My experience at the resort was fair considering it was a short stay.The staff was friendly and knowledgeable of their job duties. I liked it enough to go back for another stay.I loved the on site Spa and resteraunts as well as the beach.

Hotel staffs are not kind. They didn't give deposit back for no reason.

Owners appear to be ready to tear down this building to erect a much higher condo or hotel. The place is shabby everywhere, bedroom, lounge, dining areas. Pool and beach still passable. Staff must be aware, since they are not really outgoing. A waste of money to stay there.

I think this is a great budget vacation if you're looking just for sun and a quick getaway. This is a twenty minute cab ride to south beach and it isn't really walking distance to anything other than a great beach.

The staff was very pleasant and helpful. The rooms were clean. I loved the balcony and view from my room. It is very close to the beach, and beach loungers are provided. The drinks at the poolside bar were quite refreshing on a hot day.

The hotel was very nice. Their restaurant was great. We ate there a couple nights during our stay. The room and hotel were clean. The only thing that drove me crazy was if our phone or credit card touched the room card, it would deactivate and then we had to wait in line to get it activated in order to get into our room. We had to do that 4 times. It was an inconvenience. Our room was great, the ocean view was exceptional. We woke up every morning listening to the waves. We will definitely go back!

Toilet was not working . Sink was clog. Was no coffie machine. Room service didn't clean the room, & didn't bring towel.

I was total impressed with the Newport Beachside resort during my stay of January 30 - February 1, 2017. I was greeted by very polite hotel staff and because I was early I was I could leave my luggage with a bellman and spend time exploring the property. I was given a key to an area where I could change, shower etc. if I'd like. On the night of my birthday, the hotel had an all you can eat Lobster meal. Wow!

I was solicited to go through hrs of time share forced to purchase and never got the credit I was promised

not well maintained hotel

The only nice thing about this hotel is it's location. The quality of the customer service/housekeeping is very disappointing. The amount of amenities is minimal and staff is not well trained/educated about the importance of customer service. Housekeeping staff is rude and disrespectful.

nice hotel, right on beach
